"Callista, please..." he was filled with terror at the thought of her dying. Along with that was guilt...if she died it would be his fault for not being strong enough to convert to her kind.

"Callista..." he whispered her name but knew she was right. He couldn't live without her and it would be unfair for him to ask that of her. But still, the simple thought of Callista dying terrified him like nothing else. He wanted to do everything he could to protect her, keep her safe...
