"We could do it on the plane," Paul offered. "But I really don't want to get involved in anything that could be in any way construed to be comparable to Samuel L. Jackson filmography, so I think Warlocks on a Plane is a bad idea." This was said in a manner that made it extremely, extremely difficult to tell whether or not Paul was joking. Extremely. Obviously seriously, Paul offered, "I could show you that trick, I caught onto it pretty fast. I can also use my shadow as something of a deflector."

Jacob smiled at the reference to Samuel L. Jackson, "That would be great!' he said, "This is all very interesting..."

It occured to Paul that a Sage declared she had every intent of killing his wife and had made no attempt to warn the Warlock Hunters that such a thing had been threatened.

"Yes," Paul agreed. "It's fascinating. Until you find yourself out on the street, carrying an assault rifle a robot gave to you, trying to kill a man who turned a city block into a green explosive stone, blew off his own arms, got rescued by an acolyte who presumed you did the damage, then ran off. It's once you hit that point that it gets exciting as opposed to interesting." Paul glanced around. "Does anybody remember... well, hold on. Lemme get this junk out," he muttered to himself, pulling out the ticket. "Our gate's coming up," he said, pointing a ways up the hall.
Then it hit him.
"Oh s**t. S**t s**t. Alan's phone number, lemme call, lemme call, pick up, pick up," Paul muttered rapidly, dialing Alan's cell as quickly as physically possible.

Jacob listened to Paul with growing fascination, "That's pretty intense..." he said quietly. He looked up when Paul pointed out the gate, "Hold on...I don't have a ticket...do I?"
((Aww...okay, adios.))

Alan answered. "Yeah, what's up?"
It occurred further to Paul that the Sage probably had no way of finding his wife, but hey. You couldn't be too sure.

((I do try. But never fear! I'll finish curing cancer yet ninja xd I'm sorry Joe, what was that? I couldn't hear it over that cough.))
Siber became increasingly nervous as the magical demonstrations continued despite his discomfort. "Guys..." He looked over at Samuel, who had come with them. He was watching bemusedly as the other two continued to show total disregard for the environment. Apparently, not having been noticed, he had decided to remain that way. "There are real people here." He glanced around the room, did a double-take, and whirled to face Linda, sitting in a chair at the terminal, staring at them. "Linda!" he cried, and rushed over to her, getting on a knee and taking her hand. "A familiar face in a strange and lonely world! Does this mean Alan is here? No, no matter; how are you faring? We haven't seen you in so long! Will you be cavorting about the northeast with us?"

She is *scribble* somewhere else entirely.))

"Melissa. Acolyte. Threatened. Dunno." Paul said quickly. "When we were fighting the Sage, she thought I shot him."
Taking his mouth away from the phone, he said, "We'll make 'em let you on." He patted Athena, still invisible.

((Oh... I was just told to find her... time to recover!))
"Oh... oh, God, I'm so sorry, ma'am, I entirely mistook you for someone else! Forgive me!" He stood and bowed away from the woman, who was left feeling intensely amnesi-al-ish after Keldan was done with her.
"That, Jacob, was obviously a demonstration of some of the finer aspects of the shadow trade." He moved back over to the group. "And a fine one, if I do say so myself." He waved over at the poor lady and she gave him a look as though she had never seen him before, then looked behind her to make sure she was the recipient of the wave. He also refused to acknowledge that he had made a mistake.

"Huh," Alan replied, taking a moment to make sense of what Paul said. "Okay, we'll shift her between a few bases and put some crack riflemen on her defense. When you flight takes off, I'm gonna be concealing you guys, so don't call me after that."

"Great. Thanks," Paul said, sighing deeply in relief. Another moment of safety bought. Maybe Robert was really, really right...

((Getting off for philosophy right after this. Ciao.))
"Well, I erased her memory, of course. Well. Keldan did. My Warlock, you know. Shadow has a metaphysical connection to the light and darkness of the human mind that can be taken advantage of; my Warlock had a minor in shadow, but it was a mental specialty."

"I see! That's pretty clever." he said, marveling at these new things he was just hearing about. I can't wait until I can do this... he thought.
I hope so...
