Shaking her head, Kushina muttered something, almost too quiet to hear about pancakes and then, quickly, dragged Micoi into a hug before stepping back, hand on the doorknob.

"Dragon Eyes, Micoi. I could be crude and say that with power comes responsibility. Everybody needs to make compromises and sacrifices every once in a while, the world can't revolve around just one person. And yes, even the hard-headed idiot in there. Go get some exerice," flashing Micoi a smile, Kushina paused by the door to give Micoi to say something if she wanted to. Kushina had a feeling though, that what she said would not be taken as it should. Or something like that.

Micoi glared at the officer. Kushina wasn't the one deserving of her current, foul, mood but she couldn't help it. At the moment they all sounded pretty much the same...
"... My responsibilities are first and foremost to myself, what I choose, Arinas and Kanak who I owe more than anyone. I almost wish that he had acted little more the youkai he is and not let me go, telling me to ignore traditions, destiny or whatever you want to call it," the Queen-to-be said before turning around and walking, with angry, hurried steps down the hall. She was going out and, hopefully, she could catch some of the fighters. She had never met them, personally, but she wasnted to see something familiar... and whether that was people training with swords, or sparring as Neith had so nicely put it, or real fighting didn't matter. She needed something to connect to that she was used to... something that was as far from all this about being the Dragon Queen and taking on responsibilities was about as possible.

LEASHES. And then WHIPS. Teach these children something! Kushina wasn't really angry, though, just tired. She just didn't do well at all when she had to reason and explain to those who could be considered to not be grown up mentally, yet. Shaking her head, Kushina felt like banging a fist against the door. Nobody listened to what she was saying.

With a sigh, Kushina straightened and opened the door, ducking into the office, door closing quietly behind her.

"And as for you," sighing, Kushina leaned against the door, tipping her head down towards her chest and stared at Jett from under her lashes.
"What happened in here, anyway?"

Hurrying down the corridor, though still at walking speed, Micoi rounded a corner and from there she began to accelerate until she was nearly running, as fast as she dared anyway in these heels, down the halls. She wanted out and she wanted it now, not really noticing, or was it caring?, who she passed in her rushed path, most people jumped out of the way though before she could do it.

She wasn't used to the castle yet (who could be on simply half a day?) but it didn't take her too horribly long to finally find her way to a side door. It certainly wasn't the front door but it was good enough for her. Coming to a halt a few steps out in the sunshine, Micoi gave herself a moment to catch her breath finally. How could people move or even use these horrid thing that were corests!? She would never understand that, however many times Neith explained their use to her.
Straightening up, the young woman looked around, trying to orientate herself and finding that she was on the courtyard. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath so not to hear only her heart pounding in her ears, Micoi listened for a moment. There seemed to be some of the familiar noise of sword on sword not too far away, she was certain. Focusing now, she was able to tell that she had been correct, she only hoped that she could locate it and get there too.
She didn't have to walk too far though, for as soon as she rounded a corner and walked further into the less "public" area of the courtyard, she found the source of her interest... Dragon Fighters sparring. As she watched the young looking men train, her eyes lightened up and a smile slowly settled on her lips. This reminded her of when she was younger and Kanak would train with her because, really, back then she wasn't ready yet to face off the youkai who came "too close" to the temple sanctuary. She had so enjoyed those times, even though she sometimes, or rather often in the beginning, had gotten hurt or bruised.
Before she knew it, Micoi had walked up to the small arena-like ring and was leaning slightly on the fence, arms lying on the top of the wood and padding that covered the inside. After all, she understood the logic in that, there was no point in getting the fighters exceedingly damaged while simply training. Her eyes followed the two dragons in the ring as they moved to strike and block. Mentally, she pointed out where they could have done differently or what they needed to train more on.

The Dragon Lord was sitting at his desk, scowling. "What does it sound like? Everything went to hell," was Jett's morose reply. "This simply isn't going to work out. She won't listen, she's been raised too differently, she doesn't understand the responsibilty."

But she had... and then... Argh! Banging her head gently on the door, Kushina closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and let it out in a sigh.

"Jett. What did I tell you? Did I tell you to try and wheedle an apology out of her? I don't remember I did. I remember telling you to apologize. Had you done that, at the start, without anything else, you might even have gotten some sort of concession from her," opening her eyes in the pause, Kushina frowned at Jett, narrowing her stare.

"And yet, that's obviously not what happened. And what's more, you take up responsibility? I told you; few people know the ways and rules of a court, and she hasn't even been here two full days, and what're you expecting of her, anyway? I explicitely told you, but did you listen? You have to have patience, and manner. You are both older and have a courtly upbringing. This means it's your responsibility to make your apologies, and not mention or fish for one from her!" Kushina couldn't help being disappointed.

Jett was after all the Dragon Lord, and he should know when to make apologies, and not ask for them. He should know to take rejection with grace, and try again later. What had all his upbringing been for, anyway?

"I cant,"She said nervously, but then realized it sounded like she didn't want to at all, thusly altering her statement "I can't today...But I would like to." Celia was blushing again. Despite having already known what he was going to have asked her, she wasn't used to it.

'I'll only say it once more....Calm down, you are doing fine....However, if you want to make it to the library some time today, and still have eneough of a chance to meet up with the Lady Micoi, we should likely be going soon...'said Kahaku, trying to nudge her along a little.

Aurumn visibly wilted when she first said she couldn't, only to revitalize when she added her last line. "Oh! Um, okay. Do you want to go out tomorrow afternoon, then? I can be finished with all my chores by then, I hope. My aunt runs a cafe and bakery in the city, it's not far."

"That sounds very nice,"she said with a warm smile, trying to take Kahaku's words to heart. That, was right about when she spotted the new queen heading towards the training ground. "Where...?"she said, more thinking out loud than anything, before adding "Um...I'll be right back,"and then gesturing to the direction Micoi had gone in, before starting towards the fields.

"Did she or did she not slap me?!" Jett snapped back. "I could have had her arrested! I was fine with simply apologizing to her and having her apologize back! I am NOT the only person in the wrong here! I am the Dragon Lord! I shouldn't have to apologize to anyone!" Now his eyes glowed bright red filled with a hunger for power.

Kushina... stared. Oh, no... He did just not say what she heard. Oh, yes. He did! Pale eyes narrowing, Kushina stalked over, stopped for a moment right in front of Jett. Then she punched him. It wasn't even a "polite" sort of open-handed slap, either, but a real, closed-fisted punch.

"Jett~" Kushina's snarl fizzled like water on a hot stone in the room, and she grabbed his collar, dragging him down to her face. "What I'm seeing... Is a pathetic child! DO I HAVE TO SPANK YOU? And I'll do it, too. You're not too old for that!" Something was very, very wrong, right here and now, and while Kushina might not have finely attuned senses, she knew Jett. And this? Was not Jett as she knew him. Had known him. This was something else, and Kushina was Not Impressed.

"Boy, you're lucky I'm not dragging you out in public to deal with this, by spanking you with your mother's handmirror!" There was none of the joking, mischiveous woman now, but an enraged older "sister" matching Jett's behaviour. If he behaved like an unreasonable child who could not respect his wife-to-be, she would by all ancestors treat him like one!

Jett staggered back, groaning. "Kushina...." It was soft, Jett's real voice, begging for something, then it was not. "How dare you hit me?!" With surprising strength, he shoved the oak desk at her, as if it weighed nothing at all.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 27, 2007 5:20 pm

"Boy," Kushina had heard that, and, now prepared for whatever would happen that Jett usually wouldn't do, jumped up on the desk as it was pushed at her. "I dare because I changed your smelly diapers and laughed with your mother about it when you were a baby," straightening, she held out a hand and a sword even longer than the average male was tall materialized in her grip.

"I dare because I have cleaned your snotty nose as you pestered me when you were sick and everyone else had tired on you," smirking tightly, Kushina jumped down from the desk, heels ringing sharply as she landed.

"I dare, because right now you are behaving like a tantrum-throwing ten-year old, and I will treat you accordingly," raising a slender eyebrow, Kushina's smile was tight and challenging as she made a smacking motion with the hand that wasn't holding her oversized sword.

"I dare because I have known you since you were a drooling infant, and I am not afraid of calling you on it when you become patethically unreasonable. No more than a tantrum-throwing child," the last was said in a sing-song voice, the fury gone for more tightly reigned and calculating anger, made to bait.

"I will NOT let you speak to me like that!" Grabbing one of the chairs, he flung it at her in a rage.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 27, 2007 5:40 pm

Sweeping her sword up, Kushina simply held it, flat side front and braced herself, letting the heavy chair crash and splinter against the metal.

"Let me? I can take you to my knee for being uppity, boy. There is nothing you can do about you not "letting me" speak as I wish to you. I give you respect, Jett, when you're deserving of it. And right now, you're so far from it your poor mother would probably want to spank you herself, and your father would be utterly disgusted! Is this the way to behave? You're a grown man, show some grace and pride in yourself, and take your hits when you should!"

Eyes narrowing, Kushina stabbed with her sword, only having to take a step forward to have it whizz only an inch or so past Jett's face and into the wall behind him.

"Do not think I will treat you like the Dragon Lord you should be when you do not behave in a way suitable for being the Lord!"
Jerking her sword out, pebbles and dust raining from the "stab wound" in the wall, Kushina wiggled her sword at Jett warningly.

If Jett said anything, it was lost in a furious snarl. He lashed out at her, disregarding the sword, swiping at her with his bare hands.
