 Yeah, he had to choose from 1 to 85 and I had to choose from 1 to 31.. I believe..
My team was too random.
Togekiss - I NEVER use her in battle.. she's quiet natured and too slow.
Rhyperior - One of my regulars.. so I wasn't upset with that choice.
Donphan - One of my A-list. Love this girl <3
Dragonair - I was tempted to switch her around. But I had to be honest lol
Ninjask - I never use this guy either.. but he has a useful ability..
Jynx - One of my uncommonly used pokemon but she does her job well :3

Pretty much. I've trained 85 non-ubers throughout my Poke career. I decided to make it really challenging, they should all have the chance to compete.
I assume Sai did the same. If I would've shortened the number to all my familiar pokemon, it would've lost the sense of adventure.
Funny, the Dragonair I assumed was going to cost me the fight, actually did alot better than the rest. Thanks to Stone Edge's shaky accuracy, and Dragon Dance.
