Shuiro appeared out of the mist as well, not too far behind Roy and his feline sensei. She couldn't see the guards ahead, and barely saw the two in front of her as it was with her blindness and the seeping fog. However, her 'vision' was still as perfect as ever... withing a certian mile radius or so, depending on her heartbeat, and the push of her chakra. Her head looked up, in the guards direction as she heard their voice carry. "Three kids and a cat, actually... " A small smile they woulod not see caressed her lips. "I assure you... we're more capable than you think..." Her pace quickened, making her way to Etna's other side. In a low tone she wispered down to the cat. "How come they look so surprised to see kids? We are shinobi all the same... if they hire a genin squad what do they usually expect?" It doesn't make any sense... it's like they want an ANBU team or something...

The man scuffed. He was a chiseled man of old age but seemed to demand respect. He wore a scar across his right eye and seemed to wear it with pride as it was the only relatively clean place on his face. The rest of his face was covered in either dirt or hair. From the right angle, it’d be hard to determine if he was a man… or some sub species there of. Either way, it was easy to tell, even to these kids, that this was a man who had seen much in this field of business and wasn’t surprised by much else. His one good eye scanned the children and the cat that rested on the shoulders of the boy that was with them.

He soon moved closer and then sighed, “Ok, let’s get a good look at you 3 runts…” He moved and began to glanced over Roy. He placed a rather filthy hand on Roy’s chin and began to move his head around. Roy heard him mumble something along the lines of ‘pansy’ or maybe the more colorful term for what Etna was… either way, Roy wasn’t pleased.

He then moved to Shuiro and stopped for a second. As the old lecher in him rose to salute her, his stern face blushed a bit. His eye instantly trailed to one specific spot.

“Oy! Old guy. You finished or what?”

“Don’t rush me!” he cleared his throat and then began to look away. He stopped and glanced to her again… he realized that she had reacted to his motion and yet… she was without sight… He nodded a bit then moved to the last member Yumi.

He looked the girl over and sighed a little. He didn’t give her much thought but soon just walked up to the front of the three, “You all are fired. I don’t need a p***y, a blind kid and a weakling slowing me down!”

Drops of blood would hit the ground around where the man was standing. A steaming bump had appeared on the back of his head and the culprit was Roy, ‘OY! Jackass! You hired us and now you don’t want to even give us a chance?! Don’t get mad because YOU were too cheap to pay for a higher ranked mission and got Gennin. And what if she’s blind, I bet she can see right through your little 3 inch d**k self and move circles around your decrepit a**. And the other one, so she ain’t up to snuff huh? Why don’t you try her. Bet she’ll fall asleep before you hit the ground cause she’ll be so bored. Don’t you DARE say s**t about my team mates, you understand me?!”

He was pissed but hadn’t bothered to defend himself. It didn’t bug him that the old man thought low of him but he hated when people degraded others to feel better. He had lived a life where people used him as such… he was sick of it.

The man, now with a mystical huge a** bandaid on his bump, turned and looked to the 3. He nodded and sighed, “Alright, we leave immediately…” his voice was strained. He turned quickly and began to walk off.

Shuiro raised an eyebrow as the man looked Roy over. This guy likes to judge books by their cover, doesn't he... She was still somewhat ticked at him about earlier though, so she didn't speak. It wasn't until the man looked her over that the static she carries began to spark along her arms, shoulders, and one particular spark on her head when he glanced back. She was grateful that Roy tried to move him along. What a perv! If he hadn't hired us, I would have... grrrr... Then the man looked over to Yumi, barely a glance really, and fired the team. I'm not that blind! For crying out loud, you may be a blurr but I can still see you... Damn it! Her thoughts were interrupted by Roy's outburst. Only a smirk could be found on her face now... He'd proben his point. "And mister... the boy you call a pansy just happens to be the strongest of us three genin." She wondered if her words would sink in... but seeing as the man was so judgemental... she doubted it. She just mutterede a thank you to Roy from there and followed the man to where the prisoner would be. She was in a much better mood now...

Yumi was shocked by the guys demeanor. She wasn't as passionate as Roy was, she rubbed her hands together nervously. Although when Roy hit the man on the back of the head she felt like smiling. She was behind the two others just a little bit now. This was the going to be an interesting mission with her new team. She didn't know what to say to the other two. She waited for indication of what they wanted to do, if they needed to prepare for the mission or whatever. Yumi looked to Roy and then to Shuiro. It was kind of an awkward silence that radiated from her.

Roy looked back and scratched his chin a bit. Yumi was rather quiet but then again, she was new and didn't know either of them. Roy and Shuiro had the privilage of living together, same with Etna... he realized just how much of an odd man out she had to feel like. He sighed a little and then looked ahead, "Oy, Yumi... you're pretty damn quiet... bring your but up here and tell us about yourself. I'm sick of having no clue what or who you are."

Ok, not the most clean way of doing it but it was the Roy way. They walked along to the carriage where a few other guards waited of none distinct stature or demenor. The cage was seethrough and, within, was a guy about 16 or 17 years of age. He had several scars and markings across his body but overall, he just looked tired. His body was bound quite tightly. Roy assumed this was the criminal they were transporting.

"Alright, listen up you runts, this is...

"Joshua Rokashi. Age 17, Weight 171, Height 5'11. Convicted of murder on 3 different counts and manslaughter on 2 others and armed robbery. Serving a 70 year sentence in the Kara Badlands Prison." Roy chimed in with a non-chelant glance.

"H...How the devil you know all that boy? You some sort of phychic or something?

Roy turned up his nose. He hated to be compared to those with natural gifts. He made his own powers, "Hell no. I'd never be something that irritating. It's just that we are professionals... don't get it mixed up old man..." Roy said with a rather irritated tone.

He began to walk ahead, "OK, lets get going. So the way old folks."

Shuiro stayed quiet now, observing the prisoner they were to lead to the prison. She wondered just how tough that kid would be against shinobi. He's only what? Three years older than me? And already a mass murderer? How sad... He wont be getting away as long as we're around. Shuiro was pretty confident in the abilities of her team. Heck, their efforts probably weren't needed. Etna could do this all herself if she wanted. However she had the feeling that the three genin would have to work without her until they really, really needed her. Even if the prisoner escapes, he can't avoid me tracking him... and Roy could probably knock him out from a distance... up close I'd be the one doing the damage. No clue what Yumi could do... "Yeah, Yumi... spill some stuff about yourself..."

Yumi was definitely quiet but Roy's perception of why was exactly correct. She did feel like the odd one out of the group. Yumi didn't have alot to say about herself. She was pretty simplistic and didn't come out of her shell often to talk about herself in detail. What to say. What to say? She racked inside her brain. She walked along the cart too in between Shuiro and Roy. "Um. Well, I was studying with Giglamesh before I was assigned to a squad. Other than that their isn't much." She paused and looked at the ground as she walked. "Parents live in Iwa but we don't talk much. She still had her two wakizashi's at her side that Giglamesh had given her. She had a slight bit of practice with them but not enough. She really didn't know what else to say to the two of them.

Shuiro just walked along... the new girl was boring. Boring with a capital... well, all capitals. Still obsessed with that Gig guy, eh? Figures... I've got no clue what's so special about him... he just looks like some old, stinkin' drunkard to me... only with a speciality in taijutsu... She didn't voice this however... their squad would make her life more lively in time. Or would the correct term be more 'deadly'? Keeping her eyes straight ahead, she kept her thoughts on the prisoner... her electric sight rolled over him, making sure he was doing nothing suspicious. If he were to try anything, Shuiro would signal the others in no time. She just hoped she wouldn't have to... less work for her, after all.

Roy sighed a little as he looked back over his shoulder to the girl. She was dull alright… or rather… she was shy. He went to say something smart but then remembered back when he was in the academy. He started late, goofed up horribly on the first taijutsu exercise, which his mother never let him live down mind you, and he overall just sucked. It brough a deep sigh to him alright.

Roy glanced over to the old man who had berated them when they started and found a s**t eating grin on his face. He didn’t even want to know what the man was thinking about. A sigh left his lips again… he probably seemed really restless with all this sighing but that was how he was. The wasteland before him wasn’t that promising with adventure. After all, it was a fairly flat location so any attacks or anything would be very easy to spot ahead of time. But at the same time, anyone skilled enough to properly hide among these dead trees and tumble weeds were probably high level shinobi or those trained especially for assassination/espionage type missions. Either option wasn’t very pleasing to Roy. So he decided to keep the subject light.

“You’re from Iwa or you and your family just moved here? Why don’t you talk with them that much? They suck or something?

The question kind of lingered in the air as Roy looked about. He was curious about this area but he also knew that the guards wouldn’t have paid for support if it wasn’t a dangerous mission. Even if they were only worried about bugs, still something had to be out here to bug them. Afterall, these were men that Roy could tell had spent more than a few days on the job and were in more than one scrap in their lifes. They could probably handle most normal things a traveler would face out here in the badlands.

Giant bugs, sandstorms, dust storms, the occasional bandit, all pretty common things for Iwagakure Badlands. They wouldn’t exactly call them the ‘badlands’ if they were covered in milk and honey and flower fields now would they?

There wasn’t much noise coming from the prisoner either, whom Roy had almost forgotten was there. He would have preferred the guy be unconscious during the trip but the old fart made a scene about that being against regulations and interfering with the Genjutsu they used in the prison to keep order. Roy figured it was a bunch of bull and the old man just didn’t know how or didn’t have any tools to knock the guy out. Either way, he didn’t care. It was just a long walk… hopefully not off a short peer.

Yumi was shocked to hear Roy be so blunt. The truth was, at least this is what she felt, that he family wanted her out of their house. She was the only sibling so far but felt that he parents never truly wanted her. Yumi didn't feel like sharing her family problems with two new people she really hadn't gotten comfortable around yet. Her cheeks were slightly pink as she was embarassed by his bluntness, but if anyone saw beyond that they would see the undescribable pain in her eyes. Yumi would look away from the both of them quickly and continue walking with her face towards the ground. "My parents sent me to the academy to get out of my shell." She said quietly. She felt that she had to say something to shut him up.

((If we post our responses to the rut does it count towards our twenty posts requirements though?))

[huh? what do you mean. I just said the post where you acknowledge it doesn't count. or are you talking about like after you acknowledge it in rp, your next post your character is talking about how much of a pain that was to get it out? then yea, that would count but not the one wehre we're actually moving it out of the rut]]
