It's called the Painted Bat! Unlike fruit bats, this little guy has small eyes, big ears, is very small, and probably eats insects. These are the bats that use sonar, that is echolocation, to find food. =3
wow he is cute too....we have bats that fly around here at night too...alot of people a afraid of them but all they are doing is eating bugs and mosquitoes...so they are helpful to have around.....
Aaaw, lucky! whee They probably just don't know very much about the bats and are afraid because of that...or maybe actually buy into the whole "vampire bat" thing.. They're harmless unless you pester them.. rolleyes Although, on the other hand...sooooometimes they can carry diseases that can make them a little crazy..but that's no reason to fear all bats! 3nodding
We have quite a few species of bats here, but most of them live pretty far out of the cities. =3
