Niobe nodded and continued on. She rather liked this place and made a mental note to return someday. She could easily envision herself living here. She didn't even feel any wind. The more she walked, the more of the castle she saw. It looked abandoned, but of course to her, it had it's own charm. She wondered if the person they were about to meet would be the only one inside. Sylph's hair felt itchy on Niobe's neck and she decided that as soon as they were inside the castle, she would wake the girl. She would sooner kill her than hand feed her.

Ugh, Valtera on my skin. I must bathe after this

She looked around, hoping for a body of water. Where there were beasts, surely there was a drinking supply. If there was, she didn't see it. AT any rate, they were mere yards from the castle now.

Issildia now stood at the edge of the ice covered lake, Sin was still asleep some distance back within the ruins attempting to regain his strength.

She grimly noted to herself that the scent of smoke still lingered within the ruins, the evidence of battle still fresh and easily noted by Issildia. She now stood where the soldiers had made their last stand, where Reinsen and the Ryeras had dealt the final blow.

Believing Sin to be safe for the moment she left her post to circle to the west of the city and what remained of the outer walls, she knew well that she should not be seeking out things that would only wound her more so, but still she slowly approached where she had last seen Demitri before he had fallen.

Silently she noted with relief as she approached the base of the western wall that no bodies remained, only remnants of blackened ash and charred weaponry. Though this fact did little to comfort when she noticed a rise in the snow as if something lay buried there. Immediately she dropped to the ground and frantically pushed the snow away, her hands becoming pale with from cold.

Without a word she then drew forth what seemed to be the rusted over remnant of a falchion. "Osirus..." she murmured softly as she recognized the detail along the hilt as well as she markings alone the blade. This discarded heirloom was now all that remained of Demitri Zarian.

~As Niobe continued on, the dying shrieks of the beasts could be heared in the area, followed by a more hideous roar. The voice of the roar could have been identified as Azrielle. It seemed that he had been hunting, and his prey would not enjoy the spoils if the hunt.~

Niobe reached the castle doors. She pushed at first with one hand. That didn't work, so she pulled on the handle. Nothing. She couldn't identitfy the hinges anywhere. Perturbed, Niobe set Sylph down and proceeded to unleash her wrath upon the innocent door. It stood for three more seconds, then folded. The dust rising was enough to choke her, so she held her breath, put Sylph over her shoulder, and walked in.

Sin sat up once Issildia had left he took his blanket and, with a string from his pocket, wrapped it around his sholders, turning it into a cloake. That done he headed out of the ruin silently and walked deeper into the destroyed city looking about at it's former glory.

((Just trying to move this part on a bit. Just thought I'd mention that Reinsen has met Streak before on page 30.))

Streak couldn't help but jump when Reinsen spoke. It either sent a sense of fear down him and made him want to agree with everything he said and tell him everything, which it did in this case, or it made him feel a power within himself, making him want to obey Reinsen and follow him to whatever end. The latter scared him the most. Luckily, Reinsen was not speaking to him. Streak continued to follow Grevious and Reinsen, remaining silent, almost hoping to be forgotten about.

~Reinsen only looked at Streak before he grabbed one of the guards and cut him down. He was obviosly infuriated that no one had bothered to take Streak to the dungeon as he had ordered. HIs voice raged as he gave the command once again.~

I am surrounded by INFADELS!!!! scream TAKE THE BOY TO THE IRON MAIDEN!!! NOW!!!

~The guards were suddenly running in a panic to grab Streak. Three of them shackled him down while the fourth led him in the opposite direction of Reinsen. He then looked at Grevious and grew even more irriated.~

What are you still doing here. Meet up with the Northern Forces, and lead them to Trenius Sekia.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~Not long after Niobe entered the castle, did Azrielle appear behind her. He was dragging with him, two slain beasts, obviously for a meal. His claws and his fangs stained with the blood of the kill. He tossed the beasts to the side, and closed the doors behind them. The lanterns in the halls lit themselves with blue flames as they walked passed them one by one. Several doors were marked with a familiar symbol. All of them identical to the insigna that had been seen on the back of Azrielle's neck. This would have raised several questions, but Azrielle himself did not understad the meaning behind this phenomenon.~
((But I did leave, and now your making grievous cry cry , rofl anywho I guess I'll just post again how grevious left))
Grevious walked past Reinsen and though the door in order to find a quiet spot in the castle he could prepare for the journey without being interrupted by anyone. After several moments he found an empty room and went in sitting cross legged in the center as the entire room took a cold chill to it.
Niobe walked along the hall, taking it all in. She should have expected it to be dark inside and she had to admit, the self-lightning lanterns were cool. The hall seemed to be empty and endless, Niobe could tell that if Sylph were to wake up and scream, the echo would be heard through the entire place. She studied the designs on the walls. Was this where Azrielle was from? She strained her ears for sounds of something, anything that would suggest the presence of someone other than her group.
The sun warmed Khastur's back as his horse rocketed through the open plains, kicking up debri behind it. Khastur's eyes had grown blue now, his hair blond, and his armor a rich silver. Khastur had become a paladin, a man of god to use his new weapon to the fullest-- with so many new faces, Khastur was sure the team made it through all right to now, but a coiling smoke in the distance sent a flutter through his stomach. Khastur drew a horn from his girdle and blew on it hard, sending a trumpeting boom across the open plains. A great lake of ice shone opaque a league away, with shadows on it's edges. Khastur gripped the reins to his horse tight, Khastur was back in the game for the long haul, he wasn't about to stop just now.
~At the end of the long hallway, there stood a large set of doors, bearing the same marking of Azrielle's insignia...although there was something else...something far more flamboyant than the insignia itself. There was a face painted on the stone. The face looked like Azrielle, however, there was something different about it. Although hit bore the same similarities, this face seemed older somehow.~
This is where it will happen. This is where we will wait.
Issildia suddenly turned at the sound of the horn that echoed through the area. She faced back towards the south where she sighted an approaching horseman, for a moment her hand went to the hilt of her blade but this movement faltered as she recognized who now approached.
"Nae saian luume' Khastur." she muttered to herself before a wry smirk crossed her face. She carefully set the shattered remains of the blade in her hands on the ground.
"Tula sinome!" Issildia said in a raised tone, this meriting an instant response as the dark gray destrier that she had ridden to Anier came cantering out of the heart of the ruins, the beast did not pause for a moment as Issildia easily swept up onto it's back and quickly crossed the icy lake and barreled up the snow laden hill before topping the rise. She then made herself content to wait a few brief moments as the horseman approached.
(Translations= "Nae saian luume' Khastur." =" It has been to long Khastur."
"Tula sinome!"= "Come")
