Jenna looked over at Jeshan and nodded, smiling a bit. " Yeah, I can't sleep at all. My mind is running all over the place. Mostly I'm afraid that big goon on the bridge is going to come after me though." she winced. Seeing an empty spot next to him on the couch, Jenna sat down and curled her feet under her. Noting the breeders book, she raised her eyebrows. "You must really love pokemon a lot if you're willing to take the time to breed them. I'm actually out to study trainers and their relationships with their pokemon, so if you want to talk about it, I'm open. I mean, I'm not doing anything else right now...." she trailed off, realizing how silly that sounded.

Venerax pulled on a robe, suddenly hungry. Well, there''s proof that you need more then sleep to live. He sighed inwardly as his stomach growled loudly. He pulled out his pokeballs and sent out Cal and Hoothoot. They both appeared in a flash of light, though Cal as always flashed and sparkled blue when he appeared in the room. Hoothoot''s feathers were still soaked and mud covered. "You guys relax for bit in the room, I''ll be back with some food in a bit."
Venerax left the room leaving the two to get to know each other a little better, and headed to the common room.

"Oh, I''m not a breeder," Jaeshan said, patting the book. "I was just doing some reading, you know. Trying to tire myself out." He looked away, the sudden silence awkward. "How about a cup of hot chocolate?" he asked, standing up. "Nurse Joy gave me full access to the kitchen, and I know how to make a fine cup of cocoa."

Jenna practically leapt off the couch, just as uncomfortable with the moment. "Great idea. I love hot chocolate." she exclaimed. "Do you mind if we talk about your pokemon though? You're the first trainer I'll have interviewed. I did say that I was going to do some research while I'm out here. If not, I might as well go home." she laughed nervously. "Hey, where are you from, anyways? I'm from Lavender Town. I used to work in the Pokemon Tower, but I decided I'd rather see some of the world and it's pokemon, not just that place." Jenna said decisively.

Venerax stopped midway to the common room. I should just go straight to the kitchen, no need for anyone to see me in this bathrobe and my underwear. He diverted his path around the common room, and headed right into the kitchen.

Jaeshan smiled, and motioned for her to follow him into the kitchen. "I'm not actually from Kanto, you see," he told her as he filled a kettle with water, and went searching for some mugs. "I'm actually from Littleroot Town. That's in Hoenn." He pulled three mugs out of a cupboard. "I'm sure Venerax would like some too, don't you think?" he smiled, and went digging through the cupboards some more. "What is it that you'd like to know about my Pokemon?"

As Van excitedly told his parents what happened at the station, they both just gave a knowing smile, and asked him to open the rest of his gifts. From his parents he got 5 pokeballs, and a train ticket. His grandmother in Hoenn sent him a pokenav. And from his grandfather in Kanto there was a small box. Van opened the box and inside was a peice of charcoal with a note attached to it. "Christmas came early this year. Hohoho, Grandpa. . . . . . . . .
PS look under it."
Van picked up the charcoal and underneath was a firestone set on a gold chain with another note attached. "Can't wait for your visit."

Jenna sat down at one of the long tables and put her head in her palm, thinking, watching as Jeshin boiled the water. After a moment or two, she asked "What is the more important relationship, the one between you and your pokemon, or the one between one pokemon and another? How do you personally forge a great relationship with your pokemon? And, " she actually paused for breath, "I forget." Jenna blushed as the last question flew out of her head and she ran a hand through her tangled mess of hair, embarassed.

Venerax walked into the kitchen, in his bathrobe to find Jenna and Jaeshen already there. "Rats." He said hanging his head, and tightening his bathrobe. "Another run of bad luck."
He sighed.

Jaeshan carefully measured out spoonfulls of cocoa powder, sugar and vanilla. As the kettle started to whistle, he pulled it off the stove and poured the water in, mixing carefully. "Those are pretty deep questions," he said, as he rinsed off the spoon and set it on the countertop. He stopped and looked up at the ceiling, obviously thinking about this answers. As Venerax came in, he merely smiled and pointed to a seat next to Jenna. "I believe that both relationships are equally important," he said finally. "In order for a trainer and his Pokemon to accomplish anything, battles, contests, you name it, they need to trust each other fully and be able to rely on each other. If not, then neither can operate at their fullest. It's also important for Pokemon to trust each other, especially if they belong to the same trainer. That is the essence of teamwork: trust, loyalty, and above all else, love." Jaeshan smiled, wondering to himself if his answer had been too corny. He let her take in his answer while he pondered the second question, and passed both her and Venerax a steaming cup of cocoa. "I'm not sure how one would forge a strong relationship with their Pokemon," he admitted. "Taking proper care of them, training with them to make both them and you stronger, knowing when it's time to stop." He sat down next to her, mug in hand. "Like earlier, when you told Belle to put the trainer to sleep to avoid the battle. There was now way you could have known, but that guy has a powerful Mankey, and it would have made quick work of Belle if you'd fought him. But by putting him to sleep, nobody got hurt, and Belle will probably trust you more in the longrun when you ask her to do things. Pokemon respond to everything we do, from the tones of our voices to the commands we give them in battle." He stopped, and sipped his cocoa. "And you thought you talked too much," he said with a laugh.

Jenna sipped her cocoa and thought about his answers while trying to keep her eyes off of Venerax and his bathrobe. Oh geez, I'm sitting at a table with two cute guys and one of 'em is in a bathrobe. Try to keep your mind on the research, Jenna...but he has such nice eyes! And that hair is dreamy..... Her mind wandered off as she sipped the warm chocolately goodness.

Van beamed, as he said good by to his parents. He ran off east, he needed to head south to get to Kanto. He passed by the Mahogony Gym and Pryce was standing outside, Van stopped in front of him. He grinned. "I'm heading out, but don't worry I'll be back."
Pryce almost smiled, but his nearly permanent scowl didn't really change. "Sure, sure, and I suppose you'll beat me then too, eh?"
Van laughed. "Oh, I'm going to beat all the gym leaders across the regions. Don't think you're special." He grinned and sprinted off again.
Pryce watched Van run east until he was out of sight before heading back into his gym.

Venerax sipped the excellent Cocoa, trying to hide his embarrassment in the warm drink. Glad that neither of them had said anything about his current wardrobe.

Jenna snapped out of her reverie, realizing that she didn't have anything to record Jaeshin's answers with. Giving a small sigh at her yet again absent-mindedness, she let it go, not wanting to dash out in the middle of a conversation. "Those are quite the interesting answers, Jaeshin. What do you think of people who use their pokemon as tools? You know, just to battle with to gain fame and fortune, or to work them like machines. Pokemon are animals, right? Shouldnt' they be treated as such?" Jenna played devil's advocate, peering mischeviously over the side of her mug at the other two trainers.

Venerax shook his head. "No. Pokemon are partners even in businesses like the Machoke they use in Celadon are partners. Only people like Team Rocket treat them anything, but that."
