"Jumped through a ring of fire, cut a gale force wind with a sword, and buried a village full of people trying to kill me with an earthquake. Nothing too out of the normal." I reply.

Atlanta: "This is not about teamwork. This is about your individual powers. You much each prove your own worth, not that of the collective."
Manra: "Good." Suddenly, everything around you melts away. You are standing next to Moriah, who is sitting in a very catlike fashion. Atlanta is beating against the orange barrier behind you.
Atlanta & Moriah: Manra appears next to Moriah.
Moriah: "Oh, is that all?" Mashai'i replies sarcastically. "It feels like someone's been bashing my head into a rock for hours..."

"Yup, that's pretty much it... So, do we wait for the others to pass their tests or something now?" I say, laying down on my side, trying to relax a bit after my trial. "Kinda funny, the voice told me to channel helpless as a weapon... interesting advice to say the least..."

I give up on beating against the barrier. "It seems we have no choice. Lasai'ei tried to drown me. Thankfully I've been around enough geysers that I know the physics and was able to get out pretty quickly." I go up to Mashai'i and take his head between my "hands" and allow a gentle warmth to flow through him to try to ease the pain he's complaining about.

"Drown you? I somehow feel that would be worse for me then it would be for you! Couldn't use my earth powers at all for that... and aren't you pretty light?" I say. "Ever get a speech about using emotions as weapons? Or advantages or something similar."

I nod. "I am pretty light, so that helped. But my wings weighed me down. Harpies aren't meant to swim." I nod again. "I had to use a lot of rage to get enough power to rocket out of the water like a geyser. Now I just need to get that bottled rage under control again. So I'll find some stuff to slash up and burn later."

"Nice to know you're heatproof, too! Well, I guess it makes sense, I don't get crushed by my own boulders and stuff. Why do I get the feeling we were being trained to serve specific roles... you and your rage allows to the bring tremendous destruction, my fighting against all odds to turn me into a fatalistic warrior who dances with my demise... I somehow can't shake the feeling that this was meant to be a lesson as much as it was a trial."

"I'm guessing it's Lasai'ei's way of protecting this place and finding a worthy bearer."

Moriah: "Yes," the voice says.
Atlanta: "Mmm..." Mashai'i says. He soon opens his eyes. "Thank you, that should do," he says. "Now you're getting it," Lasai'ei says in response to your final comment.

"Still... I'm pretty messed up after that... it's like I had a a feeling of complete desperastion thrown on me... but, perhaps it's when I fight the best... well all hope seems lost and my only option left to to take as much enemies as I can with me..." I say.

I nod silently at Mashai'i as I remove my "hands" and resume waiting impatiently for the others to emerge.

Moriah: After Atlanta relieves his headache, Mashai'i comes over, sits next to you, and pulls you close in a hug. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there," he whispers.

I return the hug. "Don't worry... there's a reason I trained to fight..." I reply.

I yell out in pain at having my face injured. Clearly I am not skilled enough to fight an enemy I can not see, so I instead keep my guard up, and listen carefully to see if the creature is making any noise.

Moriah: "I am glad that you're okay," Mashai'i says. He presses the end of his muzzle against your forehead, as though trying to kiss you.
Eleutherius: You hear a deep rumbling, almost like a growl. It's behind you!
