Ophiuchus smiled. The day was turning out quite enjoyable, and by now, a good portion of the students and teachers were practicing battle techniques, to put it mildly. He stopped dodging the mud after a while, and concentrated more on pulverizing his students. It was most amusing. He felt that this generation of magic-users was more talented and creative than past generations that he had seen - although they still lacked the sheer power and experience that elder spellcasters held. "Oof!" This was the sound of him getting pelted by about a gajillion different mud balls simultaneously.
Meanwhile, the marsh, gloomy as it was in nature (no pun intended) also seemed to be having a bit of fun. The spirit was made of mud itself, so the 'attacks' did not affect it. And about every other mud ball, the ball would inexplicably curve upwards before hitting it and fly at Danni.
Maggie had used her fairy wings to fly upwards, and had stationed herself to Danni's back (after she stopped jumping around, of course). It was more to save her own a** than anything else, but still! Shintero was a machine gun when it came to this stuff! When there was a slight lull in the epic battle, Maggie whirled around, and thrusted a handful of gooey mud down Danni's shirt.
James, Storm, and Phillip settled for lying in the mud, finding that it was actually much safer than standing up. "Hey guys..." "Huh?" "What?" "Doncha think that Danni chick is pretty cute?" And that is how Phillip gained a magnificent bruise on his face. "DON'T COMPLIMENT THE ENEMY!!"
------
Rather than continue his discussion with Shuusuke ((using my mighty Captain powers to declare that something was actually achieved in that scene)) Ialo decided to follow a small but steady trail of students slipping out into the muddy courtyard (pun intended) through a side exit. Upon seeing the cacophony of fuax battle outdoors, he mutely walked back inside before he got hit. He wanted no part in this.
Until now.
Ialo had backtracked retrieved a long slender case from the Headmaster's office, ignoring any and all questioners. Now is as good a time to test this out as any, he reasoned, what with all the magic flying around. Before the door, he knelt and opened the case, revealing a sword within. It was plain at first glance, old and seemingly none-functional. But Ialo knew better.

neon-neon ((Bah, no one cares about him anyways, lol.))
"Mm-hmmmm...." Neon murmured, considering what Dymetri had told her. She figured this would happen. "Neenie, I am now?" There was nothing wrong with the name, it just wasn't her name. "I'm beginning to think you're more interested in my tits, rather than my voice. But that's fine. You can keep having your fun."
She continued to talk, rather than wait for a response. "I'm just saying, darling, that it's easier to get what I want when I have someone to use." Please, like she was going to sugarcoat anything. "And it's what I want that matters." And she wanted what Riser wanted, right? Of course. She was not slave to Dymetri (not that she ever considered herself one) but loyal servant to Riser, wherever the hell he was. "You think correctly," he mused. He kissed the skin nearest to him. "And if I turn my back on you to get the item that you want for myself?"

The Dreamwalker smiled knowingly. "That's where it's get interesting - and kinky, if you want my opinion." Her fingers twitched, in anticipation of more death. It was the eternal slumber, and by that logic, the ultimate Dream.

He turned his head towards the window. It was getting late. Turning back to Neon, he smirked. "Your opinion, unlike mine, is false." He touched an index finger to the bottom of her chin. "I'll help you in whatever you desire, Neenie. Just know that once we find what you want, I'm not going to stand by your side unless the situation prohibits my mutiny." His index finger slid down, softly, creating a soft trail of goosebumps. He leaned in, breathed onto her skin. "How do you propose we start? I'm at your command." It was a lie. A bad lie. He'd never be at the command of his own making. But he wanted to see how far she'd take him until he had to kill her. There was only one love in Dymetri's heart. Everyone else was just part of the game.

Neon was insulted, but just smiled wider. One would have to be a moron to actually trust her or Dymetri, so she aware that this alliance was nothing more than words. She embraced him, and seductively whispered: "I hate people. I love to kill them. Find something you hate, and turn it into love."

He couldn't help it-- he really couldn't. Dymetri thought about what she said and took it into deep consideration. What were the things he hated? He hated not being able to die. Yet he loved it. He hated drinking blood to stay in existence. But he loved the satisfaction of existing. What was something that he just hated? There had to be something in his mind that was only going to lead to a downfall. Somehow, Little One entered his mind. How small was she compared to him? Why, she was almost just an arm length. Yet she killed him. He had trusted her and she killed him. Actually, she didn't kill him. She did something even worse. He thought more into his existence, the many lovers he took upon himself to change so that they would be together forever. They all left him, of course, as soon as they realized what he was. He couldn't love a changed human because the changed human couldn't love him. He thought of Lin, how quickly he fell into respect and care for her. He thought of her laugh, replaying, replaying. And the joy it brought him to see her smile at something. The ecstasy it brought him to see her smile at something he did. She made him feel wonderful, accepted, loved even. Yet, he wasn't able to be with her. The moral values of a teacher doesn't allow him to. Neither does the fact that she's an elf. She was true about one thing, though. The only thing he refused to believe just to make himself feel better. There were light and dark beings. He was dark. He could taint her, make her weak with the right touch. Kill her with the wrong one. And she was able to do the same. So why did he feel that way for her? Dymetri understood now. But there were still questions running through his mind. He looked to Neon now, completely different from Lin, yet somehow they both attracted him. He couldn't keep the question in his mind, he needed to let it out. It bothered him, it seemed like it was suffocating his mind. He needed to ask, see her point of view on it. Not like it would matter. But he needed something-- anything-- to make him stop thinking about Lin. She had even left him without saying goodbye, and he couldn't forgive that. "And what if you hate love?"

What if you hate love? This threw Neon for a loop, and she couldn't hide her momentary expression of surprise. It was a question deeper than she thought Dymetri was capable of, quite frankly. Neon herself was rather incapable of love, but... "Then destroy it," she said harshly. "Turn it evil and corrosive and against itself." Manipulation was something the woman knew best. "Love is for pansies, self-righteous pricks with no ambitions and no idea what power is." She clenched her fists, visibly passionate in anger. Who knew Dymetri would strike a chord? "Love causes all the problems in the world and it. Needs. To. GO."

Between dodging mudballs from the marsh spirit and attempting to see everyone at once, Danni didn't notice Maggie turning on her until she already had a shirtful of mud. Frowning, Danni turned on her heel, looked at Maggie, looked at the horde of mud covered people underneath her levitating pile of mud, and without any sort of ceremony pushed the other girl down so she landed with a very satisfying squish next to Phillip and the other two. "Yeah, love you too, Maggie." She called down, rolling her eyes as she tried to dig mud out of her shirt.
All at once, a ton of mudballs seemed to come from out of nowhere at her from all sides, and thinking quickly, she dove onto her stomach on her mud pile, and gripped it tightly with her hands, pushing herself forward. This sent her mud pile spinning in the air, deflecting approaching mud balls as both Danni and her mud pile became a blur, spinning through the air.
While that may have looked cool, it was the exact opposite for Danni, who was hanging on for dear life to the quickly spinning mud, squeezing her eyes shut. Finally the spinning stopped when she was satisfied the mudballs had disappeared. The mud stopped spinning abruptly, and Danni got to her feet, then staggered slightly, her head spinning. "D-Damn..." She muttered, seeing double of everything until she shook her head vigorously to clear it.
From out of the corner of her eye she saw a flash of muddy blond hair, and on her other side, a flash of black. A split second later, mud balls were coming at her again, and unless she wanted to be eating the stuff, they needed to be deflected again. "s**t..." She said on a groan, but dove onto her stomach again and set her floating mud spinning again. Her siblings, she thought, a bit queezy now, were going to pay for this, for there was no mistake that it was those two doing this.
Suddenly, a mud ball somehow got through, hitting her hand, and she accidently let go. With a girlish screech, she was flung off, up in the air and hitting the side of the school with a thud. For a moment she seemed to stick to the wall upside down, then suddenly slid down it, stopping when her body slid halfway into an open window. Now the upper half of her body was hanging out the window, everything below her waist inside whatever room she'd gone into.
She groaned, not bothering to move. This place was probably safer than the ground, and she didn't feel like falling again. So, upside down, she stared up at the sky, too...shocked, one could say, to realize she could just slide the rest of the way in through the window. But, she'd hit her head, and common sense wasn't there at the moment...

Dymetri wrapped his arms around her, comforting her. Trying to soothe her. With one hand at the small of her back and another on the back of her neck, he kissed her forehead. Her cheek. Her neck. Her other cheek. "You say that because you've never loved. Or because you've never been loved in return."

Neon inhaled deeply, and exhaled, calming down slowly. Through this motion, she found herself moving in, closer to him. Not that there was much room between them in the first place, but... "No, she said again. "I have never loved, and I never will. Only humans love, and love is the source of adversity. Therefore, humans must die." She was walking in dangerous territory now, but that's what Neon did best.

"You cannot have prosperity without adversity. You cannot have power without love. You cannot have vampires without humans." He continued to hold her, his bare chest against her own. It felt nice, their stone skin feeling like silk to each other. His hair fell lightly over his eyes, studying her.

Neon scoffed, but let herself be held. "Greed follows prosperity," she mumbled. Her lip curled up, baring her own set of sharp fangs. In her mind, humans were only useful as slaves and fodder, experimentation subjects. Who cares if she was a vampire now, and needed human blood to continue living? It was only life. As a Dreamwalker, she was guaranteed a life beyond a life, beyond a life, and so on. That's how she ended up here. "I don't give s**t about vampires, darling." Not as a whole at least. "I was destined for immortality with or without you."

"You never said you weren't greedy yourself." He smirked. She didn't have half a clue about vampires and it amused him. He felt like he was on familiar territory now. The only thing he knew about the most was what he was. "How so?" he asked, referring to her last statement.

Neon raised an eyebrow. She was silent for a few moments, gazing at Dymetri as though he had sprouted an extra head or two. "Why the hell would I tell you? That's my secret, and mine alone."

"You wouldn't have started that statement if you didn't want me to know what it meant." His own eyebrow mimicked hers, and he smiled.
