Callista's body took over as the sun got higher, sending her into a deep mortal sleep. Her dreams centered around Valzar and their time together.

Valzar remained awake for sometime, just watching Callista while she slept. When he'd met her so long ago on that night in the woods, he'd never dreamed that he'd be here with her like this someday. Back then he couldn't even imagine having any relationship with a female, certainly not one where she loved him totally and unconditionally as Callista did. She truly was a wonder to him....

Callista muttered something in her sleep and held onto him tighter, burying her head in his chest.

He gently stroked her hair, his body moving to hold her close and comfort her.

Callista felt the sun sinking and stirred lightly, opening one eye to see if Valzar was still asleep, or if he'd slept at all.

Valzar rested peacefully beside her having fallen asleep sometime in the afternoon.

She smiled. He looked so calm that she didn't want to wake him. She sighed softly. She would have to find something to eat soon...and while the thought of Valzar's blood made her feel delightfully uncomfortable, she didn't want to make him feel bound to her in that sense. He deserved to be more than food to her.

Valzar shifted slightly, slowly opening his eyes, "How long have you been awake?"

She moved against him to get closer, a small moan escaping her lips. "I want to wake like this forever."

"It would be my pleasure to tell you," he closed his eyes for a moment sensing something was...different. It was almost as if the world was brighter, every color richer, more pure, than they had been before. He inhaled, picking up so man new and strange scents on the the gentle winds that made it into the cave. More than that, he could better sense things as well. Callista's hunger beat at him, "You need to feed."
