LadyTwilyte Kikuka I was wondering if my fellow flutists could give a tip?
I got my braces back on alittle after I started playing flute, and then it didn't affect my sound much, so it was no problem. But recently, after having them tightened alot I find there is an effect on my already horrible tone. >_<# Is there any way I can help keep my tone sounding, if not normal, better even with the stupid things?
Also, on my F and G s, I sometimes hear a buzzing sound. I looked my flute over and didnt find anything loose, so I have no idea what it may be.... sweatdrop My frined has braces and plays the flute but didn't have any problems with it. I'll ask her if she has any tone problems. since i dunt have braces... i can't help u sry

Miangel My BD told the flute section yesterday that we were the most improved section from the beginning of the year. ^^ Kickass. Awesome! The only thing he said to us is that we're the smallest flute section this most recent marching season except we had the same number last year

My director is insane he made all the flutes that he could piccs. I was the picc for the year so this is upsetting!
My season, however, just ended in failure we got 6th place in the state of florida in preliminaries for our division. Only top ten get into finals crying
I'm now battling thoughts of leaveing the band crying
Any flutes have advice for a fallen picc.?

If everything seems ok don't worry yourself sick over it, but you should take it to be looked at.

My BD back in intermediate school used to call us the "flutie tooties"! Well...either that, or "knuckleheads", used interchangeably. He called everyone the latter, though...he hates kids.

Well that's nice. Why the heck did he become a teacher then? I can definately see the thought process on that one.

I don't really get it either. =/ I hated him so much that I had actually quit back in the sixth grade, but came back, and then quit again, came back, quit, and finally returned the beginning of this year. Fancy that.

Keltzy Either I am blind and didn't read the board right, or there are no flute topics. I saw other instrument topics so I thought I'd make one too. Um flute players, any of out there? Today was our first day of school and my first day playing with a different band. I was different, probably 'cause most the class forgot their instruments. sweatdrop We played pep band music, and I felt weird, 'cause the other two flutes were organizing stuff . . . But enough of my ranting, please, come talk!! Hello...I'm new here any way one what is up?

I have been a flutist for 3 years. I play in symphonic band and marching band. There are 14 flutes in my band and only 2 of them are boys. And they there best flutists in the school. 7 years of playing (each of them). I love BAND!

The freshman come in saying how they hated him in 8th, but now they love him. xd
