"How to get my daggers out," she grumbled, flopping down across from him. "And those circles you're all drawing -- and the ones on you weapons. What do they do?" Anslia regarded her headmaster closely. This man was very strange.

"You'll be able to get your daggers once i have the energy to change it back to dirt. The ice freezes the metal and holds it there, that's why you weren't able to get them out. The circles are called 'transmutation circles.' They're a sort of gateway to release your energy into the surrounding environment. You have to remember something very important though: ""For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction."" The ice didn't just appear out of magic, i used the transmutation circle to mix the oxygen and hydrogen mixed up in the dirt. Then i changed the density of the air to flash-freeze it into a solid slab of ice. The spare material was forced to the bottom. Doing all of that takes a lot of energy though...that's why i'm so tired. The circles on the weapons are shortcuts. They're general t-circles that can be used in many different situations in a pinch." He finaly finished his little lesson and layed back. "Anything else?"

"What do the elements have to do with it? One I should specialize in... or something?" Then she started muttering under her breath about memory and notebooks, but it didn't last long. The wind was still knockd out of her.

"The elements are just generalizations. I usually specialize in Earth alchemy, but that doesn't mean i can only use Earth alchemy. Usually people choose which one they want to focus on by their surroundings. I grew up near a forest and had previous knowledge of plants and chemicals, so i naturally focused on Earth alchemy. When i'm giving you lessons you'll find you're own to focus on."

"Sounds good." She finally succumbed to her weary body and lay back as well. "I'll beat you next time," she muttered, letting her eyes and mind rest.

Piper listened in fascination as the fight went on. unfortunately the ice sort of made it hard to make out everything that had happened. but she was suprised anslia didn't once use alchemy, her fighting skills were superb. She wondered if how many times she had actually fought before, and wouldn't look forward to ever sparring with her in fear of how badly she'd loose. Before she lost herself completely in thinking of the fight she almost forgot her own stratedgy and that she still wasn't ready. She took off her shoes and socks and began drawing similiar symbols on the soles of her feet, coating them in what was let of the henna paste and waiting for it to dry. She still had until time before they changed the field back. She glanced over to where she could make out Anslia's outline on the ground and smiled. Containing enthusiasm wasn't one of her strong suits as she called over to her fellow classmate. "That was amazing!"

Iris watched with fascination as Piper applied some brown looking paste to her feet, and noticed that she had already done so on her hands and such.
How interesting... she thought. Transmutation symbols don't always have to be drawn with chalk...
"What an interesting technique!" she said softly. "That's amazing..."

Piper glanced back over at Iris and laughed as she looked down at the paste, she could only guess that's what she was talking about. "I wouldn't speak highly of it until we see if it works. This is still a probationary idea. I haven't tested it in an actual battle, so what better time then now. right?" she smiled and ran her fingers along the dark lines of the soles of her feet. "If it does work out I can teach you how to make the paste if you want."

Iris grinned. "That would be wonderful!" She examined the brown paste more carefully. "Is that henna? How did you ever come up with the idea?"
The whole idea of it intrigued Iris.

((I've got to go mow the grass. bbl))
Piper nodded, "Yep, it's henna paste. If I would have remembered I would have brought some citric acid. It help the paste sinks in better." She thought for a moment before continuing, "Well I noticed that everyone else seemed to have some form transmutation circle with them at all times, whether it be a tatoo, jewelry or a weapon. Me being the coward that I am am not about to get a needle anywhere near my skin, I don't like the idea of carrying weapons and I'm not a big jewelry person... So I tried ink it didn't last long because it didn't go deep enough into the skin. I came across Henna when one of my grandmother introduced it to me. Her and Grandpa ran and art shop, there were all sorts of different types of art and in that time she taught me about henna paste and drawing. I guess that's sort of how it all came about and I sort of just put two and two together." she concluded happily.

"Oh, that's so innovative!" said Iris. It was a creative idea indeed... she didn't have anything that had transmutation circles on it...
All of hers were drawn by her chalk (which, by the way, had been getting smaller and smaller). She would need to get more chalk soon. Hopefully Shtona would have some extra chalk to spare.
She began to think about how she could carry a transmutation circle on her person. She hated weapons, but the jewelry idea appealed greatly to her.
((Okay! blaugh ))

Anslia raised a hand to wave off Piper's comments, not even remembering that the other girl was blind. Actually, Anslia had yet to notice that "minor" detail.
After a few more moments, she felt rested and sat back up. "What now?" she asked Shtona, surprised at how tired he really was. Maybe this alchemy stuff wasn't as easy as it looked.

"Well if you ever need help, with transmutation circles or anything, I'm always glad to help when I can." Piper hymmed. she felt a slight movement from the ground and in her head she could see the light outlines move slightly as Anslia waved, she nodded happily and started to peel the dried paste from her feet.

"Oh, thank you," replied Iris. "That's very nice of you..."
She mused for a moment. "Hm, do you think engraving a transmutation circle on a piece of jewelry.. say for instance bracelets; do you think it would be too difficult? Or do-able?"
