"It... was interesting, to say the least... and I am..." Alex said. "Hima... It's famous... for it's dragons, right...? Master Aurion told me about it..."

"Mm, yes. Famous for its dragons and skilled forgers of weapons," Dahlia replied. "My parents were the ones who ran the dragon-riding services. Unfortunately, when I was quite young there was a sickness that spread through our village and took their lives."

Dahlia paused, feeling sorrow. She did not grieve for her parents, but she knew that she was supposed, as a dutiful daughter should. She never truly knew her parents, and even now, she could not recall their faces. Master had been more of a parental figure to her than anyone in her life.

"I was taken in by the best blacksmith. He raised me and taught me everything I now know. Forging and fighting... dragon riding even," she thought wistfully with a smile.

"Wow..." Alex said, and pat Dahlia on the back, "Well... I'm sure your parents would be proud of you, Dahlia..."

"It's quite alright," Dahlia said, smiling. "Most people say that, but to be honest, I don't really mind. I never knew them, and I'm disappointed I won't get to see them or know them now... but what has happened is past and Master has given me a great life. He is in essence, my father," she gave him a weak smile.

"Does what I said sound absolutely absurd? Because if it does, please tell me. I'll stop talking so... nostalgically.."

Alex chuckled slightly, and said, "No, no... it's fine... and I understand... the same would go for me and Master Aurion..."

"Hm... alright then," Dahlia exclaimed.

She rather enjoyed talking to Alex. He seemed very kind and polite. "For what reason are you on this quest? I am here, mostly because I wish to see this destruction and evil stop," commented Dahlia.

Alex smiled, and said, "I'd say... to practice my swordsmanship... but now... I supose... to make sure that the angels don't take the world over..."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 05, 2007 2:55 pm

Dahlia gave Alex a coy smile. "Practice your swordsmanship is it? Would you like to test your skills out against me some day?"

She could tell Alex was skilled in the ways of the sword by his movements, and was eager to see how she fared against someone other than her master. He was the only man she had ever fought, and so she did not truly understand her capabilities.

Sometimes she felt Master had let her win their little sparring matches, and was honestly eager to see her skills in the 'real world.'

"But - ah you mentioned you were tired from that meeting with the - angel girl? So we shall set our match to some other day. I do not wish to beat a man who's already been weakened," she grinned at him.

"I wouldn't mind..." Alex said, and grinned, "And I'm not that tired. I would still win... And, I won't go easy on you, unless you wanted me to."

Dahlia grinned at his sudden burst of energy. "Well, my good sir, if you're so anxious then perhaps we should have our little spar right this moment!"

She got to her feet and patted herself off. "Would you like to fight, Alex?" She gave him a charming smile and offered him her hand.

"Very Well!" Alex said, and stood up accepting Dahlia's aid, and then l owering into his battle stance...

Dahlia nodded and shifted her left foot back. Most of her weight leaned on her back foot and her right hand hovered over her sword, ready to draw it out.

"Ready?" she asked, with a blazing look of determination on her face.

"Born Ready." Alex said, "You may have the first strike."

Dahlia nodded.

She tensed her body for a moment, and then relaxed. In a flash, she drew her sword and lunged forward with a downward strike.

Alex smiled, and dodged the attack, and swung horizontally slowly...
