"Relax, we're not here to kill you. I though that's what you were going to do." Letting out a sigh that he wasn't a vampire he continued on. "What's happening here? Where did this blackness come from? What happened up in the other part of town?" He had alot of questions running in his mind. He was as scared as anyone was, though he hated to admit it.
He still held the girls hand fast. She'd been silent for the past little while, perhaps to terrified to speak. It didn't matter, they had to get out of here, it wasn't safe wherever there was darkness. "Do you know of somewhere safe? we need to move if we want to kept from getting jumped by something." He quickly scanned the ally for anything else. He only counted 4 bodies but he couldn't see more than 5 feet in front of him.

Cecilia wasn't quite terrified she was, though very confused. She hadn't ever been this close to an attack. She had heard tales of them, and heard something about a "pure", but she lived too far from the city to have ever experienced them. She followed the men blindly. It was all she could do. She had no idea what she was supposed to do in her current situation other than run fast and hard. Cecilia's eyes darted about, not settling on anything. Nothing looked familiar, which wasn't a comforting feeling. She wasn't keen on being at a loss in unfamiliar territory. For once, she wished she had actually taken the time to listen to whatever news there had been about the attacks. Cecilia had nothing at her disposal. She remained by the stranger's side, still holding his hand. She watched her surroundings uneasily, as though any of them could and would turn into creatures at any moment and decide to attack.

((Sorry I haven't been on, and for pretty much God-moding my last post. Gotta remember that Caine only THINKS he is a God, and really isn't. The reason I have not been on is because college started back up for a new semester.))

[My post was lame because I was a bit out of sorts...sorry guys. School starts for me on Tuesday, and I have a book report to do and there's a lot going on (including a motorcycle). I must admit, even my life is getting crazy...but at least my dance teacher is back from Wales!]

"Oh, so you aren't going to kill me?" Gerard said. It felt like several hundred pounds of weight had been lifted from his chest. Still a bit shaken, he fumbled for his lantern. He found it, smashed and ruined. Gerard sighed. "Well, there was this house that I... borrowed for a time a couple of streets over. There was a large basement in it that was connected sewers. If we can find a manhole, then we can get into the sewers and into the basement from there. I know the sewers well, I can get us there with no trouble. I have had to live ther for days sometimes, when the city was too hot for me, if you catch my drift." Gerard said, now looking at the man with a smile.
"There should be one in this alleyway, help me locate it." Gerard said, now searching the ground using the eyesight he had earned through years of thievery. Ths should be easy, since I can spot a fat purse from across a crouded street... He thought to himself as he searched.

"Very well. Anywhere is better than here for now." He was a bit befuddled by what the man ment, but he figured he should worry later. Letting go of the girls hand he began to search for the manhole, looking around on the ground for the cover. It was harder for him as the ground was a bit farther and he had to get down to look for it.
His mind began to wander as he searched. 'What could do this sort of thing? Why would it do this? What are all these creatures?' THe thoughts raced through his head untill he tripped on something hard and mettalic sounding.
"I think I've found it!" He shouted over the screams. With a grunt he lifted the grate and went back to his other companions to gather them and bring them down into the hole.
"You first sir." He motioned to the new character.

"Fine, follow me and don't get separated." Gerard said, hopping into the manhole. He gasped as he looked around. Evidently, the vampires and their allies had been dumping bodies into the sewers, it now resenbled a crude graveyard of sorts. Hundreds of bodies now littered the waters and walkways, making it difficult to move forward. Gerard stepped foreward a bit and almost vomited. The smell overwhelmed him, he covered his mouth. "This is horrible." He said to himself. He looked down at one of the many bodies.
On a corpse too mutilated to identify the gender, there was a lantern. Gerard picked it up and lit it up. It was much brighter than the one before. He stood and waited for the man, while keeping a look out for vampires. He didn't want to be caught off guard, even though he doubted that he would in the sewers.

Cecilia followed the group, clapping her hands to her mouth and nose as soon as she hit the ground (or rather, as soon as she stepped on what she thought was ground). She had, in fact, stepped on a recently deceased man. She thought about happier things, such as the ducks she had seen not long before, whilst staring at the warm light of the lantern. It was all she could do to keep the bile from rising any further in her throat. Though she breathed hesitantly through her mouth, she could still smell the bodies. She could taste the awful stench. E'en all of hell could be no worse than this. For surely I shall never rid myself of this. Cecilia made herself a promise that she would never enter the sewers again, if she could help it. She was praying, repeating the Latin she had heard in church again and again, when she stepped directly on a body. Up until that point she had done a neat job of holding her skirts up and walking gingerly around them. Cecilia vomited, much to her chagrin. It wasn't much, but it was still inconvenient and unpleasant. Then again, it left her with a slightly better taste in her mouth. Her eyes grew a bit more damp as she started to feel homesick.

After following the man down the hole, Arthur stopped. Even with his poor sense of smell, he could smell the decay and even taste the horrible stench. Nothing was this horrible in his life.
His vision returned back home, all the animals dead and disfigured. His foster parents lying in the barn. It came flooding back and he collapsed on the ground, sitting on his knees.
"What madness is this?" He said to himself. He noticed the girl come down and shortly after she vomitted. Her eyes began to dampen as his now did. Memories, horrible memories. Those creatures will pay...
He wiped the slaty water from his eyes and stodd again. Walking over to the girl he offered to help her up. He looked back to see if Gehrim had joined them yet. Then looked at their 'guide'. Perhaps going down here with no prior knowledge of him or the place was very smart.
"Lead the way." As he kept his eyes on the new person, he was apparently dressed in better clothes than most people he had seen today. The light helped him see that. Other than that he couldn't tell hide nor' tail about him.

Coming to wakefulness, Hamil found that darkness had come early in the form of dark storm clouds, very dark clouds. He grinned and abandoned the safety of his Blight, and eagerly approached the city of Lemvyrn. It was a wondrous prospect to return so soon to his home and to live amongst its people during the day, during the activity of life. When he neared, however, he knew something was wrong. People were running, amassing at the gates to Upper, clamoring for safety and light. He smirked at their floundering, their fear of the dark. If only he had known why...
He learned quickly, when something snatched him by the arm and carried him up into the air. Looking up, he saw a large winged creature carrying him away. It shot its head down, attempting to peck open his skull, but he was not going to be killed so easily. He bobbed his head out of the way, and clamped his hand around the beast's throat. It began to fall toward the ground in a lop-sided fashion as Hamil strangled it. When it finally died, he began a free-fall fifteen feet from the ground. A thatched hut roof broke his fall, but did not impede his journey; he fell straight through, and landed on a meal table. With a loud crunch, a leg cracked in half, and fell. Hamil landed on his back with a grunt. He lay there for several seconds, giving a sigh and just trying to regain his bearings.
His attacker lay on the roof, a leg hanging through the gaping hole Hamil had so gracefully created. He smirked and stood shaking himself off, then yanked the unknown beast to the floor. It fell without a struggle. He stomped shut its windpipe to make sure it died, and then rushed from the house, curious to find out what exactly had happened.

"Come on, the basement is..." Gerardsaid as he looked ahead. "Now this is going to be troublesome." The path ahead had collapsed infront of them. "Well, we'll have to go around. Be careful, I do not know if the vamires are done dumping here." Gerard said, looking left and moving slowly. It was a dangerous trip, they would have pitfalls and accidental perils unless they were careful.
"Well, sir, we sould maybe know a bit more about each other. "My name is Gerard. What is yours?" Gerard asked politely, still trying his hardest not to vomit. He could see that this man was ill at ease, must have been something he ate or something, the bodies littered the streets as well, it couldn't be that. "What's wrong with you? You look frightened or sick. Possibly both. Are you OK?"

Suddenly, a tall, menacing figure emerged in front of Gerard. Caine smiled as he looked at the two of them.
"My, my. What have we here?"
Caine stood still. Suddenly, a mishapen creature leapt at Caine from behind. Caine just barely sidestepped the creature, surprised at how fast it was.
"I do not know what you are, but you have engered a God. For that, you will die."
The creature leapt at him again. Using this chance to draw his sword, Caine slashed upwards, and cleaved the crature in two as it landed. Caine turned and faced his attacker.
"Strange. No blood. Where is the fun in that?"
Caine again turned to face Gerard.
"I guess this makes us allies...for now."

"I'll be much better once we get to a safer local. Though I believe that we should get moving, lest we be joined by more unwelcome company..." As he finished his sentence however helping the woman up the 'god' from the bar appeared from the darkness. The creature that followed him was promptly slain and he turned and gave them a smile.
"I don't trust anyone right now but thats really not my place at the moment. If you believe we should work together for the moment then we shall." He turned to Gehrim and spoke quietly, "It would seem our numbers grow with more shady figures every moment. Keep your eyes open for any more univited guests."
He returned his gaze to their guide. "We must make haste friend. The days grow dangerous in this place the longer we dwell here."

A sadistic grin creeped upon Caine's face.
"Trust me. These creatures are the least of your worries."
Caine started to walk with them, but then stopped.
"Forgive my rude manners. I have not yet introduced myself. I am somewhat of a....legend. Or a myth, if you will. I am Caine."
Caine watched as shock swept over his newfound allies faces.
"Yes. That Caine. And yes, the legends are true. But do not worry. As long as you do not anger me, you will enjoy the benefits of life."
