I am feeling a lot better, thanks for asking!
I'm back to work at long last, and they've been having me work from home because they don't have an office for me yet. Heh... saves ME money, that's for sure!

Thank goodness Jasta! My mom knows what yer talking about cuz she has her office in our house. That's pretty cool, not to mention you save cash on gas, like you said.
I just came in to check on things for a bit. I'm gonna be on more time on Thursday. 3nodding

Yes, it is a huge savings and allows me to relax a bit. The neurologist called today and told me he's upping my anti-seizure meds AGAIN after the most recent tests; the EEG they did in hospital still shows abnormalities. Abnormalities in MY brain?? Nah... wink

Well isn't that strange... I hope yer brain turns out ok. 3nodding In the mean time, I'm gonna check out the other sub-forums. EDIT: I just postponed the award ceremony at my user names lotto/contest thread cuz there hasn't been much activity around the guild lately. I also canceled the contest for this month because of the same reason. I hope to see more members posting in sub-forums such as "The Catacombs" or there shall be no more contest and no one shall receive any prizes.

There's been no activity anywhere really. Perhaps a single thread or two here and there and in the Village, but nowhere else. This aggravates me to be honest.

It's going to happen from time to time, especially when folks have such "stuff" going on in their lives. Don't despair; it's not a personal reflection on anyone, it's just the way life is sometimes. Lately I've been contacted by every guild to which I belong, begging for posts--and most posts I've left (except mostly here) have gone unanswered. I had to decide not to take it personally, because we're all only human after all. We can't help but be upset, hurt, or annoyed when we talk and people don't talk back--but neither can we blame folks for having things to deal with outside of Gaia. It'll eventually pick up.
This is one of the more active of the guilds to which I belong, too. Which probably says a lot about Life right now. smile France is pretty much on a month-long vacation, for instance, and many people are paying attention to the Olympics. Sadly, a LOT of people also seem to be dealing with medical issues, depression, and family strife. All we can to is keep plugging and see where it gets us.

Though considering the amount of members who don't bother as opposed to those who do bother who trail off every now and again due to necessities doesn't add up. There should still be more activity regarding the number of members, but there isn't. Goes to show that it's only the regulars who bother when they've got the time to respond!
Anyway, right now it's only the sailing + voluntary work, the internet and my writing that's keeping me going. With regards to friends, at the moment I could shout and hear my own echo with no reply.
Such is boredom.
I think we need another influx of new topics........hmm....

I hear ya Mel! That's why I decided to hold the award ceremony till I see more activity. I know Jasta has a good point and sometimes lack of activity is bound to happen but still...
I'm sad that I haven't been able to come here as much as I used to myself but, the office has been taking a lot of our time lately. Most of that is my time online unfortunately... sad

I checked it earlier today, and likewise no activity.
I've been away on job-related stuff myself, sorry! But am back now. We might have either a downturn or an upswing in activity this weekend because it's a long holiday weekend in the US. Happy Labour Day, everyone! smile

Hypnocrown wonders why I've not been around lately and guesses that I don't have the time? We'll, pardon me for being blunt about this but there's been about as much activity and hype in the last couple of months as there is in watching two snails race from Stonehenge to Hadrian's Wall (UK landmarks - look them up).
I've been away for an entire week and there's absolutely nothing worth replying to on the discussion forums whatsoever. The Catacombs haven't been touched since July and the Fantasy Conference and Writer's Circle aren't really any better.
There's always something to say, even if one has to think about it for a little while. When there's nothing being discussed or debated, I can't form an opinion. It's as simple as that, and because there's neither of the two happening nobody's posting. The term "vicious circle" springs to mind, and it's normally me to be the one to get everyone out of it. This time, guess again guys.
Please note: no excuses about "not having the time to post" please, I've seen replies from you and they're little more than chats about life issues currently. How about putting the time you do have if you're short of it into discussions instead of talking about how crap life is? You don't see me blabbing on about how crap I feel all the time. That's all I've seen in the "real life news and other issues" thread recently.
NO OFFENCE TO ANYONE THOUGH, OK?JastaElf We might have either a downturn or an upswing in activity this weekend because it's a long holiday weekend in the US. It's been like this for a couple of months. I'll believe it when I see it if you're thinking upswing. And regarding a dowturn.... where have you been? Look at it out there. Desert sands with the odd tumbleweed rolling by occasionally. I don't think you can get worse than that somehow. We're having a drought in the guild and the lush rainy season is well overdue.

Happy Labor Day to everyone too!
Mel does have a good point and I'd like to be of more help but I'm not exactly sure what would improve activity here. I know for a fact that some members simply don't visit a guild they think to be dead. So, we could try to send out PMs to members who were active at some point and see what they have to say. I don't know about the situation of each and every member but I do know that there might be some out there that join guilds and then forget about them. I'm not trying to assume anything I'm just saying.
I didn't actually sign for the job of chaser but I could still try and send out some PMs to a few members. I'm sorry that I couldn't say everything I wanted to say earlier but something at the office came up and I had to close firefox. I know Mel doesn't like that kind of things and for that, I apologize but, she should relax a bit and take it easy. sweatdrop
I also wanted to mention that I read the "notice for all members" and checked as many sub-forums as I could yesterday. 3nodding

hypnocrown Happy Labor Day to everyone too! Mel does have a good point and I'd like to be of more help but I'm not exactly sure what would improve activity here. I know for a fact that (I'll continue this later, sorry) That's what I mean by don't post unless you have something worth saying. How about "I'll try to think of something" rather than ALWAYS saying "I'll continue this later" or more famously from you Hypno "I don't know what I can say to this right now, but I'll come back later" or something thereabouts.
If you DON'T have anything interesting to say, don't say anything. It's really not that different from what Thumper's mother said in Bambi "if you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all." The same goes here. If it's not relevant, don't bother.
Let's look at ways of rectifying the situation instead of mumbling "well, uhh, I don't know what to do right now, um, I'll come back later." It's just not worth taking the time to read.
