Nic hesitantly rose with Aurora's offer, eyes occasionally darting to the elephants mere yards away from them. He had never been so close to these creatures before. He could so easily imagine being caught under one of their massive feet or strangled by that leathery trunk.. But they seemed tame enough. It didn't look like they were going to charge them any time soon, at least.
While fairy and king conversed, Nic took the time to look between Aurora and his father. He did, indeed, pick out those similarities between them, but he didn't believe there was any way he could be Aurora's father. In truth, he didn't look terribly older than Nicholas himself. If they were ordinary people in a crowd, he would have pegged them as brothers perhaps. But the relationship of father and son would have been much farther from his mind.
Jumping slightly at the sudden 'You', Nic realized he was being addressed. Oh dear, he thought.. Had he done something wrong? But the question settled him, almost to the point of laughing. "W-well, not exactly," he said, a shy grin coming to his face as he averted his eyes to the ground. "I mean, I was the one who brought your da-.. son down from the tower, but I'm not really.. I mean we're not.." He stammered over his words for a moment, trying to find how to exactly reply. Clearly he was slightly lost.
He gave a questioning glance to Aurora as if asking for help.

But no help was comming because, at that moment, a pair of delicate, pale hands the very mirror of Aurora's began to pat down Nic from behind, the arms reaching out to feel from the knight's face down to his chest. As if that wasn't creepy enough, the hands had appeared as if out of nowhere. But they weren't just a pair of hands -- not, they were connected to a pair of equally porcelein pale arms, and those to a body that bore more than just a resemblance to the prince. It was like seeing Aurora in full princess garb (though decidedly more girly and ornate than anything he'd wear), with hair falling past the waste in gentle waves. It was the same pale skin, the same rosy lips and cheeks, the same delicate features. And her body was thin as his, as well, though quite better endowed. The most notible differences were that she actually had cleavage, that her eyes were a bright, sparkling blue, and her expression -- she was, currently, wearing an overly bright, simple-minded sort of smile.
"'Rora, darling, just go ahead and marry him! Mama wants a nice son-in-law and grandchildren!" she exclaimed, stepping out from behind Nic, who seemed to have passed her 'examination.' Of course, she was treating Aurora like a daughter -- as it was, it would be impossible for Aurora and Nic to have children unless they adopted. But Queen Celestine paid this no heed.
The woman -- for she really was one, though she looked no older than Aurora (and acted much younger) -- rushed over to her husband and son, a blindingly bright smile on her lips. "Darling! Lovely, all of you, Mama is estatic!" she exclaimed, pulling Aurora, Hough, and Flora all into one big, heart-filled hug. After pulling away, she laced her fingers together and turned to face Nic, her golden eyelashes batting above twinkling, sky blue eyes. She was even the same height as her son, and seemed to simply radiate the aura of the youngest princess in a royal family.
"Let's see, 'Rora, so shall we have the wedding tomorrow? I think that would be nice. We simply can't allow this dashing knight to escape, now, can we, deary? Now, Edward, please do come here! You're my future son-in-law, so don't be a stranger!" she said brightly. Apparently Nic had become 'Edward.'

(( XD All of my love is for Celestine right now. <333 ))
Those hands had Nic immediatly tensing. His first reaction was to reach for the hilt of his sword, but the immense gentleness those hands told him there was no threat.. But that did little to stop the creepiness of it all. Except for a quick over-the-shoulder glance, he made no move turn around to face her nor pull away from the touch. At first glimpse, Nic was nearly convinced it was Aurora doing the 'examination', but upon a quit downward glance, he saw the subtle difference in the size of chest. Not to mention this person looked far too jolly to be the stubborn prince. She was the Queen. Royalty, on most occasions, could do whatever they want when they wanted. And seeing as how Nic was a knight, he was grown up with the teachings to protect and obey these very types of people.
Once in front of him, Nic dropped into a quick bow once more, mostly to hide his continuing surprise. Such strange, oddly youthful parents.
"It's actually Nicholas, my Lady," the knight was quick to correct in a mix of shock and confusion. "Nicholas Shylton." Correcting nobles was always such an awkward thing for Nic, but the mention of a marriage and children left that awkward feeling in the dust. "B-but, Your Majesty.. Aurora and I, we only just met! Surely you would ask Aurora of her feelings about this beforehand as well?" Not to point out the ever-present factor that they were both male. Besides, Aurora didn't seem overly joyed about the idea of quickly found love anyway. Nic felt to be in such a fix.

(( xD I love creating weird, overly youthful and forceful parents. *coughALLORA* xD;;;; Celestine and Allora are almost like... the same person.... They both have long, wavy hair (though Allora's is more curly than wavy) and a sort of... similar personality, as well as the habbit of renaming people..... 8D;;;; ))
"No, no, no!" the queen exlcaimed with heavy imphasis, her mouth wide in a verticle oval shape. "Nono, Edward, it's Edward, really. Isn't that right, my most Handsome lovely?" she said, turning to her 'hubby' with a purely innocent and overly convincing smile. He nodded and smiled and leaned down to give her a quick peck on the lips. They really did still act like newlyweds -- and looked like they could be it, too.
Aurora glanced silently from his mother and then to Nicholas, looking as if he had expected nothing else. He took several steps towards the knight so that he could mutter, "Just.... don't argue. Once -- if -- she gets to know you, she'll eventually call you by your propper name... but I think that that is her current pet name. She gets these infatuations with random names every now and them and calls everyone not expecially close to her by that name.... Just be glad she's not obsessing over Pookie, Francesca or Snookums. She has no objection to calling anyone any of those...."
Celestine beamed as she saw her 'daughter' moving closer to who she had now categorized as Aurora's 'fiance.' It was simply wonderful to see her son so heavily infatuated as to go within ten feet of a suitor....
As Nicholas spoke again, Aurora sent a small glare his way. "His feelings, you mean," he interjected, lips curving down in his patented pout. "And Mama, we're not all like you and Pa-- Father," he said. "I don't really intend to get married the moment I see someone, and I certainly do not believe in love at first sight."
((EDIT: Since Sona is back and because I keep picturing this scene in the day time, let's just say that as they.... teleported thingy, it used up time so it's now MORNING. 8D;;;;;; *dies of heavy coincedence use*))

[[Bleaaah. Well! That certainly makes things a bit easier. Sorry for the absence. Missed you folk.]]
Having fed on the usual feast of fish that evening, the prince had found an underwater cave for rest through the night. He really didn't want any more... odd pursuers. But as the rays of first dawn pierced the water, Ryland's gills sealed themselves off and he awoke to the distressful sensation of well, drowning. Again.
Azure orbs flickered open and he propelled off the bottom of the lake, soon thrashing to the surface with lack of air, webbed fingers, or ... tail. Indeed, two human legs once again occupied his lower half and the youth gasped for the sweet oxygen from the forest air. He paddled over to the side of the lake and took a sharp look about. No need to bare himself fully if it was unavoidable. He pulled himself out of the lake, still coughing up a few remnants of the water from his lungs. Grabbing his pair of trousers, he pulled them over his freshly transformed half and laid down on the grassy edge of the water to shake excess water from his locks and allow the sun's heat to take the moisture from his gleaming back.

Well.. Edward it was, Nicholas thought defeatedly, seeing as how both King and Queen agreed upon the false name. How could he argue really? "Pookie?" he questioned in a murmer to where only Aurora could hear, a brow arched curiously. However, his eyes did seem to take on a more playful glimmer. Perhaps he was finally getting used to the royal pair's strange behavior. "You know, that might not be so bad actually."
But the stern gender correction had him wincing in guilt. It seemed Nic was getting slightly caught up in Celestine's imaginary world of Aurora actually being female. He cast the prince an apologetic look, the glance giving him enough time to once more see that increasingly familiar, always adorable pout.
"See? As I'm sure you can tell, Aurora doesn't wish to be wed to me," the knight continued, urging for both his own and the prince's sake. He wasn't so sure he was getting through to the couple, though.

((Welcome back! :3
And.... ninja
Eisleeeeeeeeeeeeeey. ;____; <333 *went to that concert last night*))
William had been eating his breakfast. He had risen not too much before, intending to get a start in the early hours before it got too hot. His attention, however, was diverted from his breakfast by the explosion (well, compared to the silence, at least) of sound in the form of that red-head surfacing from the water and gulp down oxygen. From the looks of him, he seemed to have nearly drowned. William wasn't exactly in a conspicuous position -- he was situated more into the foresty part, away from the clearing, but he could see quite clearly, despite not being seen. As he examined the teen further, he realised that it must have been that redhead he had seen jumping into the water last night.... and... later with a tail.
Several moments of hesitation and then he stood slowly, the movement causing a small stirring sound from the bushes. And then he had stepped into the clearing, his countenance entirely visible. He didn't quite... know what to say. But he had to say... something. He paused several moments, biting his lip slightly as he thought.
"Are you... alright?" he asked at last, unable to bring up what he really wanted to know, though he was not without concern for the other's well being.

"That will change with time!" exclaimed Celestine brightly, her rosy lips curved upwards in a bright smile. "Like... by tommorow! Dearest, we must make the preparations, we simply must!" she said, fully estatic. The king nodded with a smile and pulled his wife into a gentle embrace. She flushed happily and gave him a small, loving kiss on each cheek. "Well, really, we're heading back to the castle! Lovely as it is here, we've many things to attend to, what with the wedding tomorrow and all. Flora, Aurora, Edward... you'll be comming with us, of course. Come, I expect the servents will have prepared the extra elephant by now, and it really is time we leave!"
Obviously, Celestine wasn't in the habbit of listening to either her son or his 'fiance.'
"Father is more normal when Mother isn't around. He is simply agreeable to her... she's the weird one," he muttured to Nic under his breath.
((Off to bed!))

Indi winced at being called one of the servants yet again but he had indeed prepared the extra elephant that had been brought along. He hadn't quite understood why there was the extra one at first but he fully understood now. He drifted down to Nic and with a wave of his hand, a small vine sprouted beneath his feet and quickly grew up the elephants side and stopped at the perfect position for him to step of of it and onto the beasts back. He proceeded over to Aurora, where he did the exact same thing and then flew back over to Nic. "Don't mind them. They're just a bit excited, I think. They aren't normally this...abnormal..." he said tentatively. He wasn't used to dealing with the King and Queen very often and the few times he did, they were normally quite the tame pair. Although Indi could never get over the time that Queen Celestine had called him "Pinki" for some odd reason.

Nic was at a complete loss for all argument by now. Hopefully things would settle down once they got back to the castle.. Hopefully. So instead of trying to further explain their case to the royal couple, the knight just gave a slow nod to Aurora's words. Not that he'd say it outloud, but he thought that both the King and Queen were rather weird.
"Thanks, Indi," Nic said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We'll see you back at the castle then?" But he wasn't so sure how easily it would be to see much of anyone once they got there. What with 'preparations' and such going on. He stepped onto the summoned vine and then up on the elephant. ".. This is a lot higher than it looks from down there," he mumbled to himself.

((Actually, they're not tame. Celestine is always crazy... though with good-intentions... sort of.... Hugh is less weird, but he agrees to practically everything he says and, since they are nearly always together, that makes him weird, too. Aurora just says they're not usually so weird because he missed them. Somehow. D: <333 ))
Aurora's eyes flickered from Indi and Nic, and then to his parents who had ascended atop their elephant without any obvious means of transportation -- one moment they were on the ground, and the next they were atop the massive creature. Aurora looked perfectly at ease ascending the vines and taking his seat so high above the ground.
He glanced back towards Nic and shrugged slightly. "You'll get used to it after a while. I did. I had to, though I still don't think it was good parenting to make a child who is afraid of heights ride a gigantic elephant at the age of five....." he grumbled to himself. Still, he gave the elephant a rather affectionate pat on its (really big) back. "Off we goooo...!" he said in a rather bored tone, and so it was. Despite having not been out of the tower in over a year, he seemed perfectly in place despite the height and the heavy footfalls. It was entirely evident that he had been doing this for much of his life.

It wasn't long before another one of the troll creatures entered the room. This one was obviously more richly dressed than the others, and didn't appear to be nearly as frightened around Algernon as the others did. "Lord Algernon!" it exclaimed in its froggy voice, shuffling right up to the seated wizard. "Look at your condition. What ever did you get yourself into this time?" When answered by nothing but an annoyed grunt, Uruk reached into a pouch at its belt to bring forth a cloth which upon muttering a spell, dampened. "This may sting just a tad-" Was the only warning the elf got before the cloth started wiping the crusted blood from his cheek.
Algernon gave an initial wince at first contact of the cloth, but immediatly settled back to let the creature do his work. Unable to do any sort of healing himself, he relied on Uruk to tend to his wounds. He favored him above the others for that ability, not to mention it seemed as if Uruk was the only troll with even half an intelligible mind. "After all that waiting," he said tiredly.
"Yes, yes," Uruk replied, finishing with the cleaning, leaving now the wound on the elf's cheek. He was now well aware of the outcome of Algernon's attempt. "But it was only one try. Surely next time, once you are well rested, things will fall neatly into place. Now.." He placed the dirtied cloth away, settling a leathery hand on Algernon's cheek. Within only a couple seconds, a blue aura appeared underneath his fingertips, and where a scar would have formed, it left the elf's previously flawless, unmarred skin. "There we are. Good as new."
Algernon brought his fingers up to feel the healed flesh, always glad he had this creature under his command. "There was another one," he said. "Another prince there when I arrived. One of Erumina's projects, Ryland the merboy.""Honestly, my Lord, don't you think you should take it once prince at a time?" Uruk asked. "Those royals are often a handful on their own." But Algernon didn't look to be paying attention. Already he had a renewed gleam in his eye, ready for his next step.

Nic held on tightly for only the first few seconds of the elephant's start, but once realizing he was about to slip off, he relaxed. "Get used to it, will I?" he echoed in question, managing to throw over a teasing glance at Aurora. "Don't tell me you're joining your parents in the idea of me staying here and marrying you, are you?" He added a light peal of laughter to show the sensitive prince he was being serious. But even with that comment, Nic wondered to himself.. What was he going to do after all this settled down? He vowed to be Aurora's protector, so he could always stick around and continue to do such. Or would he go off on his own way once more, back to his life of knighthood?
The young knight just shook his head before glancing over at the King and Queen atop their own beast. "Speaking of your parents.. are they possessed of any sort of magic themselves?" He couldn't help but notice the couple ways they just seem to suddenly appear places.

Aurora flushed brightly at his little slip-up, his lips set down in a soft scowl. "I--I just meant... during this ride. It feels really weird at first, I know, but once you've been on for a bit, it's fine. Your trouble, though, will be what happens after... like having to walk properly in order to get off." He had, at some point, crossed his arms angrily over his chest -- making it apparent just how well-balanced he was, being able to do that with no trouble about staying on the large creature. A lifetime of elephant riding and a full year stuck in a tower taller than most mountains left no room to be afraid of heights.
He glanced back to the other and shrugged slowly. "Well... really, the royal line isn't supposed to.... It's one of the comforting things about us, I suppose -- that we won't use magic to live forever and become tyranical or whatever. We really have no aptitude for magic.... But those two always make me wonder, since they appear and disapear so rapidly," he said with a small shrug.

What happens after? This statement caused Nic to wonder if was anything like after riding a horse for the first time. The stiffness of joints and the none-too-comfortable soreness between his legs. But he wasn't mounted atop the elephant anything like he would a horse. That was just an experience the knight would just have to wait to feel for himself. But he knew that wait wouldn't be much longer. The elephant's long strides were taking them within quick reach of the castle.
"Though I have only just met them, I truly don't see your parents becoming tyranical or anything of the sort," Nic said, unable to even imagine the two in such an overpowering state. "Now you on the other hand.." He left the words hanging teasingly in the air.
