"I-I c-can't help it," Kaleb said miserably, fidgeting worse and losing more of the small, downy feathers. "A-and you were staring, a-and angry, so I thought..." he trailed off, feeling too anxious and uncomfortable to finish.

"I like them." He took Kaleb's shoulders and made hims it down on the couch. "Sit there and stop molting. I'll be right back." He set the feathers on the table and went into the kitchen to get Kaleb a glass of chocolate milk. That would make him feel better and he could get his mind off the pants for a minuet.

Kaleb tucked his feet up next to him once he was seated, and his tails curled tightly around his legs. "Y-you do?" he asked, turning his head even though he wouldn't be able to see over the couch to where Riley had wandered off to. He adjusted the position of his wings to get comfortable, and a couple more loose feathers fell out. The mage quickly picked them off the cushions and added them to the pile on the table.

"Yea .. they're nice." He came back into the living room and held out the glass for his partner. "But i don't like that Reno's the one who took ya out ta get 'em."

Kaleb tried not to sniffle as he took the chocolate milk, the kind gesture after so much stress and anxiety had really gotten to him. "Th-thank you..." he said before taking a sip. He was starting to feel better now that he knew Riley liked his new clothes, and that his partner really wasn't all that angry with him. "H-he offered, a-and I needed to get new clothes anyway."

He'd slug him at work later. "He's just takin advantage of ya again. S'all he ever does. At least he didn't drag ya to get a new suit yet, or get yers tailored." He flopped down on the couch once he'd handed over the milk.

Kaleb frowned a bit. "Wh-why would getting a suit tailored be worse?" He still needed to get his jacket fixed for his wings before Rufus needed him to make an appearance in it, and if Reno had offered, he would have gone. The little mage fidgeted a bit, but was hit by the realization that the pants didn't actually slide down like he had expected when he sat down. "Y-you don't think these pants are too low, do you?" He asked nervously.

"No worse than mine." He shrugged slightly. "And it'd be worse cause it's Reno. He just does stuff cause yer innocent and he can take advantage of that."

"Y-you didn't even look," Kaleb said, fidgeting. After the initial staring, he was sure Riley had been trying to avoid looking at him, so how could he know if the pants were too low? Although now he kind of wanted to get a look at Riley's pants, to see if they really were comparable.

Kaleb took a long drink from his chocolate milk and then set the half-empty glass down on the coffee table. "But the shirt covers the waist, so you wouldn't really be able to see," he protested. "I-I don't like it when you try to look at my boxers, b-but this is different."

"It's tha same thing. Me tuggin at yer pants." It just meant he wasn't trying to look at what was under them just what was in them.

"I-it's not," Kaleb insisted firmly. "You wouldn't have to touch me, just look." He stretched out a bit and untucked one leg, pulling up his shirt just enough to let Riley see how low the jeans rested on his hips. "A-are you sure it's not too low?"

He tried very hard not to twitch. "Not too low ... no worse than anyone else's." His were the same really. It was so much easier than having to cut holes in pants.

Kaleb smiled a bit, and tugged his shirt back down as he resettled himself and reached for his glass of milk. "I-I'm glad, it still feels too low..." But if Riley thought it was okay and liked the clothes, he would be able to get used to it. He relaxed against the couch and let his wings sag tiredly as he enjoyed his drink, and wondered if his partner's pants were really just as low.
