Val walked out of her wagon and did her morning ritual of rubbing morning dew on her face. She stretched a bit and went over to the people who were awake, Shamira, Em, and Pierre.
"Good morning" Val greeted unaware of the question Shamira just asked Em.

"Hardly." the woman turned her now glaring eyes at the leader of the caravan, her whole countenance turning more than a bit suspicious as she regarded the woman.

Val looked a bit surprised at Shamira's response. "Did not sleep well I take it?" she held a bag full of fruit and grains. "care for breakfast. I have fruit, grains, water, some bread, and some cornmeal. Nothing really fancy, unfortunately."

Turning incredulous eyes at Val, the gypsy woman thought over her options. She'd never been in a situation like this, and frankly had no idea how to deal with it. However, a life on the road quickly reminded her of the fact that she now had one over the caravan, so to speak - she knew their secret, and should they make any indication of harming her or Lorelei, she could reply in kind. Freezing her expression into a more neutral one, she looked at the fortuneteller, before speaking slowly. "Oh, I slept just fine, thank you."

Em was bewildered- it was what kept her from answering, and then when Val appeared, it was almost a relief to not have to answer such a strange question. But finally, Em just shook her head.
"I don't know what everyone's so confused about. Pierre looks fine." And she turned the boy, with his decisive hedgehog features, to face Shamira full in the face.

Val looked over to Em, realising what they were conversing over. The spell must of worn off sooner than I planned. She thought to herself. Here eyes looked concerned but she decided to play along. Best to let down this meaningless act and go with the truth. Shamira obviously hadn't ran away screaming yet, and hadn't done anything to harm anyone.
"Yes he looks fine Em, such a handsome little boy." She started playing with his feet, and poking at his spikes, "And such wonderful sharp spikes as hair, a beautiful baby." She looked over at Shamira wondering what she was starting to seperate the false from the truth.
"I think we need to talk things over." Val told Shamira. "It's time to be truthful to one another."

"Quite." it was too early in the morning to be dealing with mysteries, Shamira decided as her expression seemed frozen in a weird grimace that mostly reminded one of constipation. "Who wants to go first?"

Pierre giggled at the gypsy's playful touch, and Em held her child in her lap, about as confused as Shamira was- Pierre had been so touchy and confused the night before, but now he seemed completely normal. And why was Shamira so concerned about the way he looked?
"Yes," she said, looking up at Val curiously, "I agree- some things need to be explained."

|Bah, been at camp.| Caroline had never been an early riser. Unfortunately for her, Rojiza always had been. She awakes to her daughter crawling on her back, making happy gurgling noises. Muttering, Caroline plucks her baby off of her back and rolls over. "Well, buenos dias to you too then, love," she says, cooing. "In a better mood today, are we? Bueno!" She plays with Rojiza for a while, then stands up, setting her on the bed. "Should get changed then, hm?" She slips on her travelling skirt--no bells or jingles attached--and a simple blouse. They don't match in any sense of the word, but they fit and are comfortable. Caroline splashes water on her face, picks up Rojiza and sticks her on one hip, and exits Mountain Air. There seems to be a commotion going on. "Hm, I wonder what all this is about," she murmurs aloud. Curious, she wanders closer, bouncing her baby girl as she does.

"Ah, and here comes another! Do you, perhaps want to explain, madame?" Shamira's voice had taken on a slight mocking quality, trying to hide her frustration with this whole situation - she may have had one over the caravan, but that didn't mean she had to be patient in knowing WHAT she had over them.

Val couldn't help but hold back a giggle. The way Shamira was acting humored her. And she would imagine Shamira might look back at this with some humor later on as well.
"Why don't we sit down, have some breakfast and talk this over," Val lead Shamira to the campfire and offered her a bowl of hot oats and fruit.
"Well, as you can tell, we are not a normal gypsy caravan. Even though many gypsies have much magic they hide from normals, we seem to have magic of a different kind." She looked down. "These children are that magic, manifested and created by the magic woven of fortune, karma, and fate." She looked towards Shamira expecting many questions and hoping that those were the ones she could answer. She had been imbuing fortunettes with magic for about a year now, and still it was a huge mystery as to why she was pulled to do such things, why she didn't leave well enough alone. It's almost like she COULDN'T leave well enough alone.

Em was only just starting to understand what must have been going on. When the infants had acted so strangely, they must have been under some manner of cast that hid their magical appearance- how she did it, Em would never completely know. But she'd long accepted that there were things about Valelldia that would remain unanswered, no matter how well she got to know the beautiful, magical woman that was the head of the caravan.
Em turned to Shamira. "We're really quite harmless," she said, and she offered the woman the infant in her arms to hold, just to prove her case, "and all the better people, for loving the magic that brought the Fortunettes into our lives."

((*waits for Silver to get on crying *))
Lorelei turned in her bed, yawning sleepily. For a moment, she luxuriated in the sensation of being in a real bed again... then she was struck by the odd thought that maybe it had all been a dream... maybe she was still at home.
That made her sit bolt upright, eyes wide open.
At the sight of the wagon around her, she sighed in relief, and settled back down against her pillow, body aching.

Taking the bowl and settling down to hear the speech, Shamira blinked heavily after hearing of the magic of this caravan. She'd never encountered anything like this, nor heard of something similar. But then again, the gypsy woman wasn't THAT well-versed in the mystery of magic occurences. Automatically, and quite awkwardly, taking Pierre into her arms, she gazed at the little boy. His hair really was quite sweet, and beyond the fuzzing of being an infant, she saw nothing evil or 'wrong' about him. Looking up at the boy's mother, caretaker, she smiled awkwardly. "I.. guess so." she gazed down at the boy, smiling a bit wider, "I DO have a few questions, however. The most prominent being.. will you hurt Lorelei and I? I need to know." the smile was wiped away, and the gypsy's arms tightened gently around the infant in her embrace, as if she was trying to protect HIM, not herself and her lover.
