Jean giggled close behind Skiverdra and pointed his gun directly at his neck. "If you know what's good for you..." Jean said with a wide grin. "You'd just forfeit now."

Skiverdra slammed the staff end of his scythe into Jean's stomach, then rammed it into his gun arm. "Don't underestimate the capabilities of a warrior." he snarled.

"That's some good advice," Nero murmured behind Skiverdra, having popped up behind him as the young man shifted his attention to Jean. "We'll remember that next time we come across a warrior," he continued wryly, using his Bo to knock Skiverdra's scythe aside. Shifting his footing, Nero slid a hand off the polished wood of the staff and launched a punch to the Skiverdra' stomach, his other hand holding his Bo tightly in a defensive position against the youth's body...

Jean fell to the ground with a smile and swiftly returned to a standing position. He grasped the end of Nero's bo and pulled - trying to get his comrade-now-opponent to release his weapon. His other arm moved over Nero's shoulder and shot at Skiverdra. Despite the results of his disarming actions he ran into the shadows of the forest once more.

Jean's disarming attempt threw Nero off balance, causing his punch to go wide. He fell to his knees as his Bo clattered to the ground, holding back a yelp as the heightened pain of his knees scraping the ground surged through his legs. As the pain subsided, he rolled away from Skiverdra, snatching up his Bo in the process, spinning upright with the weapon held defensively as he scanned the treeline for Jean...

Skiverdra felt himself growing more frustrated with Jean. He wanted so desperately to wipe the smile off Jean's face. In response to his emotion, the ring began blazing brightly, as did his scythe.

The canopy... it's the first place they'll think to look... Jean thought as he ran in circles around Nero and Skiverdra looking for a place to safely target his comrades-now-opponents. It was apparent to him that Ski and Nero both have fought before - but for reasons unknown to him. Still the challenge of the tournament was enjoyable; his blood boiling in excitement as he decided to - ignoring his past thought - climb into the trees. It may be the first place to look but the height is an advantage nonetheless.
Jean didn't know where Chris or Boltlock have escaped to - possibly to start their own battles together. It mattered not, however, as his sights were set at Skiverdra and Nero who were perfectly in view at his current place. With bated breath and trembling hands, adrenaline rising, he fired a volley of tranquillizer shots from his pistol. He quickly stood and ran above the trees - jumping from branch to branch before his hapless targets could guess his location.

Skiverdra's ring blazed again, putting up a barrier around him. The darts harmlessly bounced off the barrier.

Nero felt the transference of energy as before, his staff absorbing his pain and channeling it. No, not now, he thought to himself, turning his gaze upwards and scanning the canopies, something tells me the instructors wouldn't understand if I accidentally killed one of them.
It happened so fast, he could barely react. From the corner of his eyes came the muzzle flash, and just in time Nero pivoted to face the flash, spinning his Bo in front of him. He felt three dull thunks, and as he slowed the staff down, he saw three of Jean's tranquilizers burrowed into the polished wood. At the same time he felt the energy from Skiverdra's ring as the shots aimed at him bounced away like with their previous opponent. Ducking under a ricochet dart, he turned and glared at Skiverdra, prying the tranqs out of his Bo in the process. "You fool! The instructors are watching!" he hissed, hoping they hadn't overheard him...

Meanwhile, Chris was wandering around the battle field, away from where Jean, Skiverdra, and Nero were fighting. He could not get the cloaked man's possible intentions out of his head.
Why could that man possibly want to kill us? Chris thought to himself. And what he called us..."Children of the Rings"...what does it mean...? Could he be refering to the rings that were given to us by Niobe? I still don't understand...if only we had only wounded him enough for him not to attack us instead of killing him...we could find out more on his reasoning.
Chris continued to wander about the battlefield, slightly paranoid that someone may be hiding behind a tree or something, just waiting to ambush him.

"Chris!" Jean yelled from the canopies of the trees childishly, yet with an air of confidence. "If you don't fight back you won't win...!" He said as he fired two more tranquilizers from his gun - aiming for Chris. He immediately quieted himself and jumped through the trees once more, only the rustling of leaves could be heard.
He circled around the group from the trees, firing another shot at Skiverdra, unaware of the barrier. One again he lept, his mind thinking about the man.
These rings... He thought as he slowly aimed his gun at Nero, not firing yet, pondering the situation. What are their purposes...? No... no... Don't think about that now... we're in the middle of a battle.

Upon hearing Jeans voice, Chris got the spirit of fighting back and decided to look for Skiverdra.
After a few minutes of searching, he found Skiverdra and Nero fighting near where they came back into the battlefield.
Umm... Chris thought to himself. I don't think that attacking him while he's in the middle of a battle would be such a smart idea... However, his opponents noticed him before he could get away quietly. Well...this is just great... he thought to himself. I'll go for Skiverdra first and get him out of the way.
"En Garde!" Chris shouted as he ran towards Skiverdra.
About 3 feet away from Skiverdra, Chris jumped in the air with one foot in front of him. As that foot came in contact with Skiverdra's chest, Chris kicked him in the abdomen with his other foot and struck him in the face with the flat side of his blade guarded sword. The attack slammed Skiverdra flat on his back.
Perfect! Chris happily thought to himself. The attack was flawless! He remained on guard in case Nero or anyone else decided to attack.

Skiverdra got back to his feet, his eyes narrowing in rage at what Chris had done. He then charged at Chris, releasing a powerful flurry of scythe strikes and kicks, bombarding Chris with his full fury.
