"Hm, a sketch? I'll see if I can whip something up... Should I just leave it by your duplex some time?"
At the sight of the camera, Gaius straightened up a bit self-consciously. "Er, uh, sorry it's so slim... Er, where do you want me to stand?"

Richard's grin widened as Gaius' sudden shyness. Chuckling he gestured at the lone pole in the ground. "Why don't you and your little helper stand over there."
He giggled as a sudden idea burst into his brain. What the hell, the island needed all the humor it could get. He picked up a hammer by its head and waggled it like a stick. "Hey boy, Hey Vix! Come get the stick! Bring it to Gaius!"

Gaius headed towards the location obediently, gesturing a hand at Vix to get her to follow, only to have her run off as Richard started waggling the hammer. "Wha- Hey!" He scowled momentarily, then broke into a rueful grin.
The dog was more than happy to oblige, running over to Richard and clamping her teeth around the hammer, giving it a tug and quick shake before her ears quirked at Gaius' name. Once Richard let go of the hammer, she turned right around, carrying the tool almost smugly to Gaius' side, as if showing off how talented she was. The horse-man was chuckling by now, more than amused by the pair's antics, and knelt down to ruffle Vixen's neck. "Should we say cheese?" he asked up at Richard.

Richard's smile turned mischevious. He turned on the camera and it whirred to life. "Cheese works, perhaps you perfer Hay."
He waits for a suitable reaction and then the camera beeps.
To blunt any objections he quickly lauches into another conversation topic. "So where did the mutt come from Gaius."

"Hay?!" Gaius protested, snapping his head up, only to have the camera flash then with that surprised look on his face.
Having been played, Gaius opened his mouth to fuss, but Richard was quick to distract him. Stopping with his mouth hanging open, he frowned, troubled. It was a topic he'd been pondering the past couple days... One that bothered him. "She... came from the labs. Not a mutt, actually... they gave me some papers with her. Apparantly she's an Australian Shepherd. I think I saw another dog like her running around too... so maybe I'm not the only one who received one for Christmas?"

Richard pondered out loud,"Why would the labs give islanders dogs? I some how doubt it would out of the goodness of their hearts." He snorted, the labs didn't have any hearts as far as Richard could tell. "They all Australian dogs then?" Richard tended not to care for pets, during his tenure at feral he had experiment on nearly every animal imaginable and had carefully avoid attachments to them. Dogs and Cats were far more common lab animal in those early days. Before it was all about DNA and genes.
Richard stowed the camera back in his pocket and started to unbutton his cuffs. He moved toward the pile of supports.

Gaius sighed through his nose, running a hand over Vixen's head. "That's my view too... I don't know what their aim is with this. I don't know what the other dogs are... but Vixen here has this tag in her ear." Gaius picked up one of the dog's floppy ears, showing off the red tag in it. "Maybe the other ones have tags like that too..."
Noticing Richard's direction, Gaius hurried to his feet, Vixen following close behind with the hammer. "Hey... Hey! What do you think you're doing?" His eyes darted from Richard and his cuffs to the support beams, great thick pieces of wood that were 7 feet long each. "Oh no, no noooo. You can't do that! You'll throw out your back or something!" Hurrying forward, he caught Richard by the shoulder to stop him, frowning at the stubborn old man. "It takes a huge heavy-muscled guy like Oz to lift one of those... There's no way you could do it without hurting yourself! Listen... if you want to help, I'll do the lifting and you do the guiding, okay?"

Richard grinned, Gaius was overprotective as ever. He finished rolling up his sleeves, revealing arms that considerablely less flabby than they had been a month before. Richard was still a big man, at over six feet but had to admit he wasn't exactly a hulking tower of muscle. Still there was his pride to consider and with the sorry state of his loins he figured he was due some over compensation.
"Yeah, yeah yeah. Just grab the other end of it there and we'll move it over to the hole. Your not that much bigger than me. We'll do it together, can't risk the foreman getting laid up. Billy would have your head." he chuckled as he lifted one end of the pole.

Gaius grumbled and moved to the other end, slipping both arms around it to pick it up. "Just 'cause... *grunt* I don't want... anymore accidents...." he huffed. Together, the two managed the beam over to the edge of the hole, Gaius doing his best to try and support most of it so Richard could maneuver it down into one of the foot-deep holes waiting. "Two injured is more than enough..."
Sitting farther away along the edge was Vixen. She'd dropped the hammer and was watching the two with perked ears, wondering when more fun would start.

Poor Vixen had to wait sometime before more fun would start as the pair worked throughout the afternoon. Richard continued to keep up with Gaius athough he did eventually allow the younger man to take more of the heavy lifting. He waved off an suggestion that he was over doing it. Saying he'd never felt better. Which was actually the truth. With most of his excess weight consumed by the previous transformation Richard's stamina was far better than before.
Not that he'd ever admit that the transformation had "improved" him.
Gaius and Richard set the poles of the foundation in holes and filled them in with dirt.

Another day, another set of boards nailed... and fingers hammered. Gaius sucked on his thumb before shaking it out quickly in an attempt to alleviate the stinging pressure pain. Vixen rolled about in the dirt nearby, making a perfect mess of herself and being no help at all. Aside from himself, it was a pretty quiet morning... Gaius absently wondered where some of his helpers were...

For Victor it had been a very bad night, he had woken up very early in the morning and promptly emptied his stomach out into the toliet. The rest of the early morning hours he spent sitting in the bathroom, wrapped up in a blanket, being wracked by lengthy cold and hot flashes. Eventually the sun had come up and warmed up his duplex, and the feelings of sickness had ebbed a bit. Victor felt he ought to get out, get some fresh air and sun.
It had taken a while for him to get the energy to get out the front door, and had decided to head for the beach but instead found himself walking into a small construction area, and spied an odd looking man and his dog. "Hey there"

Gaius remained in his hunched position, only his neck and head lifting up, a movement that had grown common to him, to spy the approaching stranger. The assortment of scales and odd features seemed to indicate he was already decently along, though it was hard to determine if the guy'd undergone his first or second change.. Gaius caught himself wondering and shook his head. Why was he thinking about that?
Putting on a friendly face, Gaius straightened up a bit, waving with the hand not holding his project in place in greeting. "Hey! What brings you to this neck of the woods? You looking to volunteer?"

"Volunteer? " at first Victor wasn't sure what Gaius was talking about but after looking around the contruction area a moment he figured it out
"Oh is this the future Theater i've heard about?" Victor sat down on some lumber not far from the horse-man, watching Vixen for a moment before looking back at Gaius. " I don't think I'm up to for working, I was heading to the beach to lay out in the sun for a while, haven't been feeling well"

Gaius set aside his tools, figuring it'd be more polite to give the guy his attention, though he was really wanting to work on what he could get done today...
Noticing Victor, Vixen hopped up, shedding a cloud of dust, and bounded over to investigate the new arrival. Her greeting was most certainly friendly... and sloppy... and accompanied with wet nose as she tried to get at the guy's face to lick him.
"Hey! Vixen, give the guy some space!" Gaius protested, getting to his feet as Vixen ignored him, seeming interested in investigating Victor's smell. He gave the scaled guy an apologetic smile. "Yeah, the theater... one and the same!"
"Hm, if you're not feeling well, you should be careful... you don't want to catch sun stroke on top of it all!"
