"Uhhhhhh............." Kamiss turned to Silas. "What the hell was that? I thought she was doing extremely well." The blade lifted itself off the ground and the peices rotated around each other like they had a gravitational pull, quickly piecing themselves together. "Man, I've had these swords since the Demon Wars." Silas stood up and walked over to him. "She knows how to use a sword." he said. "I know." Kamiss replied. "Something is wrong."

Still enraged, Chobah sat on a boulder in front of Menrin Falls, a tall, flowing waterfall. Legs curled underneath her. She stred into the bubbling froth where the Falls crashed into the pool beneath it. Sighing, she pulled a panpipe from her pocket and began to play; a slow sad melody she hadn't heard herself in a very long time. She let one tear fall before whipping it away, and shutting her mind against the troubles that were rolling inside her. The tune continued on, heard only to her above the roaring water.

Kamiss stood at the edge of the trees surrounding the falls. Silas had waited behind. He drew both his swords, set them down quietly, and took two steps forward, waiting.

The music stopped, puntuated by a sigh, and Chobah lowered her insturment.
"You...can come over, if you'd like. I think I'm alright now."

Kamiss did. He stepped forward, moving in front of the boulder, looking up at her. "Don't try to tell me nothing's wrong, like you did before." He sighed. "I know you. I can, well, read you like a book. Anybody, actually. I learned. I was forced to, to survive." Kamiss looked up at her again. "You've forced yourself to survive before. On the road. You're scared, aren't you?" It was a half-question, half-statement. He said it as gently as possible, not wanting to make an accusation, or make it seem liked he frowned on her for her feelings. She needed to know he would be there.

"Scared?" She laughed, not a healthy sounding noise. "Yes. A little. A lot, actually. I just...don't know what it is I really want, you know? I feel like I should be out there, not here, but I don't know where to go, what I should do. It's just...hard. I can't make decisions anymore, because so many have been wrong..." The panpipe fell from her hand, landing on the boulder with a clatter. She glanced at it, but left it.

Kamiss laughed, trying not to make it sound harsh. "It was a bad decision on my part to bring swords into our fight. So? Besides, if you take the road up, I'll be coming along. If you don't we'll both stay here. And be happy, finally."

"Happy?" A strange, sad smile slipped on to her face, but was soon gone. She stood slowly, falling more than jumping from the boulder, catching her insturment in an offhanded way as she went down. She slid it into her bag as she leaned on the boulder, then looked up at Kamiss again. "I don't think that word really exists anymore, let alone the condition. but I'll tell you what: I'm going to try like hell to find it. Together, then?" She held out her hand, questions in the very way she stood, hidden in her eyes, in the slump of her shoulders, in the curve of her fingers.

Kamiss tried not to grin ear to ear. "Together." He grabbed her hand, clasping it by his side. "I doubt it's here in the village. Might not even be in Europe. America might be healed by now." Kamiss reached out and touched Raiynoc's mind. "But, we'll go wherever it takes. Maybe even heaven or hell. Though I doubt much happiness will be down there." Kamiss tried to catch her eye, attempting to make her laugh.

She let a small, relieved giggle escape from her, but it was enough to tell him she was recovering. She squeezed his hand, and let the smile slowly grow back into something recognizable. "Alright then. Let's start out with going home. It's starting to get dark."

Kamiss nodded, and on an impulse, kissed her. He smiled, taking her by the hand and pulling her up. Not able to think of anything else, he started simple: "Agreed. What do you want for dinner?"

She couldn't speak for a moment, lost in the shock and amazement she felt. When she shook herself free, the tubulent emotions in her were almost visible in her average brown eyes, lighting them a little, changing them. Her voice wouldn't respond to multiple commands to speak, so she merely shrugged, indicating that it didn't matter to her. For now, nothing did, and all was as it should be. For now. In the whisper of the wind, she could swear she could hear a light, joyous laughter as they walked, but she couldn't be sure whether it had come from near them, or in them.

Kamiss took her by the hand, and lead the way back to the Inn, pushing away loose branches crossing their paths. Raiynoc slowly soared above them, occasioanlly roaring with evident delight. Upon reaching the Inn, Kamiss set Chobah on a stool and began to cook. Everything. He started making soup and stew, some steak, and some vegetables. He started on potatoe salad and some pasta. The only magic he used was to move form one place to the other quickly. He also made some very, very large lasagna. "For Raiynoc." He explained.

She sat contentedly, grinning at the sight of the mounds of delicious-looking food Kamiss was whipping together at an impressive speed. She nodded when he mentioned Raiynoc, her eyes still alight. She began to hum, quietly, so she could barely hear herself. But it was happy tune, a song she remembered from her childhood about coming home and finding your family again. She gazed out the window into the swirling leaves, not a care for the moment.

Kamiss flipped everything onto the bar, tossed Raiynoc the lasagna, which would be devoured in less than two minutes despite it's size, and placed down two plates, glasses, napkins and other eating essentials. He sat down, and seemed contented to stare into space for several seconds, until he realized that there was still food on the table. "Dig in." He said happily.
