*Scientia corporations, 10:32 A.M.*

A giddy feeling filled Dr. Henoi as he walked briskly down the hallway. He had made a breakthrough discovery and was pleased that it could possibly get him a promotion to his very own lab. "Look at what I have discovered! The secret to using the exvacuted gateway!" he said with excitement to the senior researcher. The older scientist took a quick glance at the report and motioned Henoi inside his office.

Fifteen minutes later, Henoi stormed out angerily; his hands clutching the findings as if it was a lifeline. "How dare they tell me to stop!? That it was too dangerous! That didn't stop me before and it won't stop me now!"

As he entered the experiment room, Henoi quicky ordered everybody out and take the day off. Elated, the scientists, left the room in a cheery mood..however, the scientist logged into his computer with a slightly-mad expression. "I'll show them! I'll show them all!" Henoi muttered as he went through the data again, continueing the forbidden research.

*At Kenji's home*

As Kenji went up the footsteps of the two-story white house, he stopped to look outside. It was almost dawn, making him sigh and open the door. He found his parents in the living room, sitting on the worn couch with grim expressions that soon burst into ones of anger.

"Where were you!? All night you had us worried!" demanded Kenji's dad.

"I was at a friend's house studying for a big test today. I couldn't come home because I was so tired and it was dark outside." said Kenji with little emotion.

"Then why didn't you call us? One of us could've picked you up!"

"My cell phone was dead and my friend doesn't have a phone...his cell was taken away so I couldn't really do anything."

The interrogation continued for a little while before it took a turn for the worse.

"Why can't you be like your older brother?! He never gave us this much trouble!" cried the father in anger.

Kenji clenched his fist, "Whatever. I'm going up to my room." He said, this time, without any emotion. Despite his parent's summons to go back, he went upstairs and closed to door in controlled fury. Taking a deep breath, the teen looked outside. It was nearing dusk and time to meet them.

After a few thoughts, Kenji shrugged, "I guess I'll be late a bit. Don't want to get in more trouble by sneaking out right now."

Shadow lead the three to the center of the park and stopped there. "This will be our first excerise; Try to reach out and feel the magic auras from each other then try to find the girl. I'll be standing watch."

She took a few steps backwards and watched them with hawk eyes with her arms crossed.

Kenji didn't know where to start. He look at Rayl and Kinera then to Shadow, who stood passively.

"Close your 5 senses then reach out mentally."

Suprised that the rune would give him a tip, Kenji shook his head and closed his eyes. His hearing followed up soon after and he could 'feel' something beside him, but yet, not there. Opening his eyes, he looked to his right to find Kinera there with her eyes closed.

"I see now. Its like radar in a way.."

"Don't worry about that Rayl. Since we're all close together, it will be hard to tell the difference between our auras. Sometimes it has a distinct feeling to it like the smell of flowers or a rock-like touch. When you try to sense them, your mental powers will, in most sense, 'feel' the aura. Try to sort out that aura and dig deeper into the space around you." Shadow explained.

Kenji took a deep breath and closed his eyes again. This time only to expand his search. He felt Shadow, Rayl, and Kinera..and there was another signature out on streets that seem out of place; near the edge of his sense rader, he felt two huge energies battling it out.

"What..what was that?," Kenji looked at Shadow, "I know you can sense it. What's going on over there?"

"That is none of your business. Did you find the kid yet?"The dragon said quickly, changing the subject to the main objective.

Kenji stared at her for a second, "Yeah I did. Why?"

"Because we're going to find him..or her."

Shadow looked at Rayl, slightly amused, "It takes practice which takes time that we don't have, so get over it."

Turned around and motioned them to follow her into the city as she walked on the lantern-lit, stone path"Let's try to asuspicous ok? We don't know how the people will react to this."

Kenji shrugged, "Whatever you say.."

Inferno landed outside the city and transformed into his human disguise.
"I'm getting tired of playing behind the scenes."
The scar faced man walked rapidly towards Shadow and the kids.
"Who the hell are those?"
Inferno surpressed his aura but it occasionally flared up due to his anger.
"I recognize Shadow's energy signal but who are all the lesser one with her?"
Inferno was becoming more irritable by the minute. His aura would flare for a few seconds then disappear for a minute. His human disguise let him traverse the city without notice.
"Shadow you are coming with me. I don't care who you are with. We are going to stop this pointless battle now. Battles are pointless unless their is a winner. If Lonewolf kills Lionheart, or vise-versa, even the survivor won't really be a winner."
Inferno followed the energy signals and knew that at least Shadow could sense his approaching. Wether or not she knew it was HIM approaching was debatable.

Inferno walked faster until Shadow's distinct aura was easily visible.
"Shadow."
Inferno turned the corner and approched Shadow.
"Hey Shadow! What the hell?! You know what's going on?"
Inferno turned to see the little auras going down a path.
"Lonewolf and Leon are trying to kill eachother. Haji is practically a courpse, Lonewolf's pet is poisened, and you're in the city with three little auras!"
Inferno turned and yelled down the path.
"Hey! You little peons better get back here before I hunt you all down!" scream
Inferno turned back to Shadow.
"Something has happened to Lonewolf. He's finally lost it. Something has made him snap. He killed Haji. That made Leon snap. We have two of the last remaining dragoons out of their minds and trying to kill eachother. No one is goign to win this battle. If either of them dies, then the survivor will only get worse. If we want a shot at stopping them we need to find what made Lonewolf snap. So are you gonna join me or not?"

"Who are those other auras? What make them so special?"
Inferno knew that he wasn't going to win this arguement.
"You have far more faith in Leon than I do. Fine. Just tell me what you know about Lonewolf that could possibly lead him to going insane. When I last him a few days ago, he was living in the middle of nowhere, alone, save for his computer and pet wolf. He was in control then. Even after a demon poisened his pet wolf, he maintained his composure. Then I left. Next thing I know, Haji is laying in a pool of his own blood and Lonewolf was the one responcible. He laughed after his murder. Something happened to him while I was gone. The pet and computer are still alive. What could have been so dramatic to make him snap like that?"
Inferno looked Shadow dead in the eyes.
"You have any ideas?"
