It took a moment for Brayden's brain to decipher the words, one because he was still trying to get his own mind clear, and two it definitely was a bit distracting being suddenly pulled to the prince's chest. He was struck with confusion when the words did sink in, however.
"I-its not your fault," he managed, shaking his head the best he could from his current position. His words were still a bit dazed as he forced his voice to work. He managed a weak laugh, "I was the idiot that jumped in, you didn't push me or anything. It-it was my own choice."
He was baffled at how Kaya thought it was his folly that caused the situation, after all, wasn't it his Dragonair that pretty much just saved him? Brayden had little doubt that if Saron hadn't taken him out of the water, he definitely would be a lot more worse for wear than a bit dazed and sore. He shivered slightly, considering that he very well could have been floating along listlessly with the tides at the moment, rather than on dry land...er... rock.
Clutching a bit at Kaya, Brayden slipped a bit closer, not really wanting to consider where he could be right now.
"If anything, I should be thanking you," he murmured quietly, looking up at the prince.

Brayden shook his head again, smiling faintly, but sadly, although Kaya probably couldn't see it currently, since Brayden was caught in the hug, "Again, its not your fault," he insisted. He closed his eyes. "Even you not noticing it was my fault," he murmured, ducking slightly.
"I'm always like this," he muttered, eyes closed still in shame as he shook his head, "I'm horrible at revealing what I'm feeling, whether it be good or bad. I just hide it behind a mask and pretend like everything's fine," he murmured, "I've been like that for as long as I can remember..."
"So when I knew that diving in would have been a mistake, I was loathe to turn around, and certainly wasn't going to turn back," he chuckled slightly, ears flicking downward. "I've never been one to give up, and wasn't about to let you guys go off on your own to a place that very well might be dangerous. So I tried to hide it, and pretended the best I could that it didn't affect me, thinking I could fight through it if I tried hard enough."
"That's what I've always been taught since I was a kid," he murmured quietly, not even sure if Kaya caught it or not. His mind threatened to take him back into his memories, but he brushed it aside, not willing to give into them just yet.

Brayden tightented his tails around him, trying to keep in any warmth he could muster. Ironic, the tails were a symbol of what had gotten him into this mess, and now he was relying on them for warmth. He sighed tiredly, Kaya's embrace managing to warm him up quite a bit, he was now finding himself sleepy. He tried to shake it off, as Kaya spoke, focusing his attention on his words, rather than the slight tickle of his hair as it draped over his back.
"...You're right," he nodded slightly. He really should learn to know his limits better. He was good with doing that with his Pokemon, and it was clear he loved each and every one of them, but sometimes it seemed that he cared little for his own well-being. The scars he still sported from his little adventure in Celadon a few months back were proof enough of that. One of the reasons he had opted to keep his vest on when taking his ill-fated swim.
Gah, and there goes his mind again, Brayden silently berated himself, shaking his thoughts back to Kaya's words.
"Afraid of heights?" he couldn't help but ask. It was true in all reality, Brayden loved the ocean, another reason why his current vulpine state wasn't gathering much love from Brayden.

The white-haired one glanced around the formation the group was currently on, before nodding once to himself, getting to work. He started first with examining the rock facing along the far side of the formation.
"It looks like we're in the right place," he declared with a smile, pointing to a small crevice that was lined up with a patch of writing in some other language.
Rummaging in his pocket for a moment, Sylam withdrew a small ring, twisting its top to a specific angle, before fitting it in the hole. The gem matched up evenly, causing him to sigh in relief. He hadn't been a hundred percent sure that it would actually work.
"Good," Sylam grinned, twisting the ring so that a small slab of stone lifted a fraction from the rest of the formation. This Sylam tugged on, revealing more and more of a small staircase, before the entire passage entrance was revealed.
"Here's where we can access the lower levels," he nodded.

Sleep, now that sounded real good. Every part of him currently supported the idea, especially if it meant that it would give him a chance to recover. Being a burden definitely wasn't on Brayden's to-do list at any moment, so if it meant he'd feel a bit better, he'd do it.
Not to mention he was currently dead tired, just barely able to decipher Kaya's words as he spoke.
Brayden managed to nod slightly, eyes drooping as he allowed the sleepiness that was lurking in the back of his mind to take hold, "B'sure I'm gonna kick their butts when I can move again," he mumbled, referring to the Aquas.
Feeling secure, and a bit better, Kaya's warmth definitely having an effect, Brayden drifted off, not able to manage a thank you in his current state, he settled for a grateful smile as he closed his eyes, nestled against the crook of the prince's neck, breath eventually evening out from its slightly feverish tempo to a steady breath of sleep.

"But of course. I understand completely," Sylam nodded as he took up vigil on one of the higher rocks, "We'll definitely need all of our strength if we're planning on stopping the entirety of Team Aqua. Just tell me when you're ready to go, and I'll help you get to where you need to be."

So, while the Great Pretender was swimming laps around her, and Kaya was helping Brayden, Nona was lagging behind. When she finally reached their destination, she found Braydne drifting off to sleep against Kaya. "...Aww..." She said, semi out of breath...she looked down and realised-
...She was cold. Visibly. SHe picked up T.G.P., holding him close to her chest. "...I'm ready whenever they are. If you want, guys, I can go in ahead of you."

The movement and following voices caused Brayden to stirr, blinking slightly as he got his bearings, more than a bit disoriented and groggy. Just how long had he slept anyway? He didn't really think it mattered, because for one, he was dry, and feeling much better. He rubbed his eyes, before he realized he was on Kaya's back.
Burden alarm flaring, Brayden tried to announce that he seemed to be able to walk on his own now, rising a bit, taking a breath to speak, but only succeeded in overcompensating his balance, falling backwards and flat on his back on the rocks. The breath and intended announcement ended up in a similar state, coming out a squeak of surprise as he fell instead of a "Thanks again, hope I wasn't too much trouble."
"Ouch," he muttered, rubbing his head slightly, "That smarts..."
"Sorry," he sheepishly declared to Kaya, looking up at the Pokelatian. Sound the trumpets, the klutz was back in action.
But at least he was feeling better. Other than a lump on his head, he seemed to be in much better shape now that he had a chance to dry off.

Sylam nodded from his perch atop the rocks. Indeed he had been watching most of the night, however he often found his thoughts wandering. However, with the group recovered from the journey to the rock formation, he turned his attention back to them. "It looks like our group of adventurers is all set," he smiled with another nod. "I'm ready to 'kick some bad guy butt' if you are," he added with a wink.
