Hey Reese, welcome back! How did that experiment go?

Well. I have concluded that I am definately going on the right path with my career choice.

That's good to hear. ^^ You're a writer right? How's that book of yours coming along? smile

Welcome to the "Bookworm" House, as others might possibly call us. We're bookeagles, really, but that doesn't sound quite as good...

bookbirds even? sounds better than bookeagles, and is more suitable than bookworms, since I highly doubt anyone here is a worm...

Quite a probable assumption, as no "worms" are allowed in here. 3nodding

My book is coming on well, I've got three chapters and a prologue done. 3nodding

That's more of a side career, though. I've decided to become a guide dog trainer. My experiment was pretending to be blind for a few days.

Wow, that's great to hear about your book. smile

That is an admirable job, plus you get to work with animals. heart I don't know how I'd handle it if I lost my sight. I know people are quite adaptive and can make up the loss with other senses, but I often like to admire the visual beauty of my surroundings you know?

Hello! I'm one of the newest Ravenclaws and if anybody could tell me the swing of thing it would be great!

Congrats and welcome to Ravenclaw! ^^ There's really nothing much to it, except you're now a student instead of a house elf. razz Just make sure you know the basic rules around here by reading the stickies in the main forum, but I'm sure you've already got the hang of it. smile Other than that, just enjoy yourself and feel free to chat in here with your fellow Ravenclaws or anywhere else you wish (just not the other common rooms!).

If you have any questions, just ask and one of us will answer as soon as we check in here. By the way, I'm Mystic, the Ravenclaw prefect. Reese is our head, and Jon and Alutian are our junior prefects. smile

Good to meet you, and welcome to Ravenclaw!
Mostly we just chat in here, but sometimes we roleplay. I started a pillowfight in our old common room...perhaps we ought to do that again just for the fun of it. whee

Aly: It's Christmas, it's definately time to have FUN! whee

tistis102: Welcome to Ravenclaw! I can garentee, you will have a good time in here (even if your spelling doesn't improve because you model it after mine, which is atrocious). heart

Mystic: I found that during my experiment. Even though I wasn't "blind" the whole time, I still felt sad for the loss of color, and things like sunsets. I especially missed my books! I know I want to do something to help people who have this problem (though some do consider it a gift), and animals are my expertise.

Reese - yeah, I can imagine the loss of sight should be especially hard for people who lose it later in life and already know what kinds of visual beauties are out there. People who are born blind learn how to appreciate the world in different ways I reckon. It's great, having a career doing something you love and helping others at the same time. smile
