Sabin spun, a snarl on his face "NO YOU DO NOT!" he practically roared at her.
Sabin's demeanor seemed to have shifted since turning towards the door. Instead of being on the defensive, scared of the intimacy, his posture showed his anger, and beyond that, a strange intensity. His face turned callous, sneering.
"You think me some savoir, here to pluck you from the miserable life you lived." He violently shook his arm, wresting it from her grasp. "The truth of the matter is that I never even selected you. You are here as an experiment, like the rest of them. No closer to me than a labrat is to the researcher." His words sought to hurt, his face showed no remorse.

Sayuri shrank back, and for a moment Sabin's face was replaced by that of her own mother, a bamboo stick in her hands, wrapped in cloth so that it would sting but not scar. She lowered her head, eyes fixed on the floor as she spoke. 'I have angered Sabin-san. I am very sorry.' her voice was the utmost meekness, hoping to placate him. She did not even know what a labrat or..that other big word was, she had obviously made a very silly mistake and he was talking to her like that so she would do better next time. She clutched her hands, trying to stop her fingers from shaking.

He scowled as Sayuri turned meek. A quarry that did not run, that did not fight back was no sport.
His eyes scanned her for a moment, looking for a flash of defiance. When he saw nothing, he snorted once. Then, without bothering to respond, he turned again, roughly jerking open the door, and strode out into the night.

Sayuri stood in her doorway, tears finally running down her face, streaking her makeup. She gripped the frame to stop herself from pitching forwards and sank to her knees. What had gone so wrong? Time passed as she stayed, a soft keening noise coming from her as she clutched onto the doorframe. She slowly came to her senses, wiping her eyes on her kimono sleeves and standing. She padded back inside, shutting the door and walked with heavy steps to her bed. She folded onto it, and lay, looking at the ceiling. 'Alone..' she whispered, shutting her eyes. 'Sabin..' she mumbled his name as she drifted into a restless sleep.

When Sabin got back to the jeep, he turned the ignition harshly, gunning the motor. Speeding off down the familiar roads, he didn't head directly back to the labs, instead mulling in his frustration. The intensity and anger of the moment sloughing off and leaving him to thoughts and raw emotions.
Why had he done that.... she only wanted to get close to him. She didn't know him, she had meant no harm.... And yet she had succeeded in pressing him, pushing him to somewhere he didn't want to be. Somewhere he wasn't ready to be again... reminding him of a life that he was trying to distance himself from. He had locked away most of his conscience, and stirring at his sympathy threatened to weaken the other locks as well... and he couldn't have that.
Even if she wanted to understand, wanted to listen...she couldn't really. She couldn't bear the weight that he would need a true companion to aide him with...
It was for the best. Scare her off now before she gets too close....

..I fear I have lost my Danna. I hope it is not so. The evening started out so well. He came to my Duplex, and we spoke. He bought me a present, a beautiful hair ornament that is in my hair as I write this. But then..we were speaking, talking about Sabin and he sounded unhappy so I kissed him on the cheek. He went completely mad, tried to storm out and shouted at me when I tried to stop him. He told me that I didnt want to know who he was, that he was bad and had done bad things. I want to believe that my Danna is a good man, and I thought he was. But when he shouted at me, it was a bad thing. He was like my mother, telling me that I am not good enough to be Maiko, will never be Geisha. I wish I had someone who knows exactly what it is to be a Geisha, and to have a Danna here on the Island so that I could speak to them. But there is not, and I have no one who can understand.

Sayuri goes to the Entertainment Room to find Star Wars and meets Lucas. TBC Lucas Wickham New RPPoking his head in, he looked around. "Empty. I guess we get this to ourselves, huh?" He looked down at Reuben, who ignored him and ran into the room. Laughing, Lucas followed. He had kind of hoped to find someone around, but it wasn't a problem. He still had Reuben to keep him company. Lucas couldn't believe the selection of movies and shows it had in it's library. It was like a video store. Curious to see what was on the other side, he started browsing through the book selection. While Lucas explored, Reuben also wandered around the room, sniffing everything. He even ate stale popcorn he found under a table. Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri wasnt sure how or why she'd ended up in this part of the complex, but she hadnt been able to bear staring at the walls of her Duplex any longer. The echoes of Sabin's angry words still rang in her mind, and she moved around listlessly for her, walking around the public buildings before winding up in this room. She'd only ever seen one small television in her life, and was taken aback by the size of the screen that dominated the wall at the end of the room. It was only a momentary distraction and she sunk again, twitching at the sleeves of her plain blue kimono, her un-made up face showing her sorrow for once. She hadnt wanted to wear a mask, and so her pale cheeks and reddened eyes were displayed for all to see. A noise captured her attention; a man was moving about the room, and a dog accompanied him. She had been that wrapped up that she hadnt noticed him? She padded forwards, her geta clicking a little on the floor, her tail didnt need to be held against her body this time, it was drooped down, the bump it made virtually hidden by the bulk of her kimono and the knot of her obi. 'Hello,' she said quietly as she neared him. Lucas Wickham Lucas, also, had not noticed Sayuri's entrance at first. The magazine he held in his hands hands had stolen his attention. It had been weeks since he'd read something new. It was when he heard her footsteps that he turned, moments before she spoke. Reuben had noticed the woman a bit earlier and walked over to check her out, sniffing at her kimono. Smiling, Lucas stepped forward. "Hi! I'm Lucas." He was about to ask for her name when he noticed her eyes, red from crying, and the downcast look on her face. "Are you all right?" Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri would have been more surprised about Lucas's appearance had he been the first Islander she had met. As it was, his changes seemed pretty mild to her now and she forced a smile, looking down at the dog sniffing at her. She bowed a little, straightening and introducing herself. 'Sayuri,' she shook her head. 'I am,' she pressed a hand to the left side of her chest. 'I have heart hurt.' she said in a small voice. Lucas Wickham 'Heart hurt'? Did she mean some physical ailment or had her heart been hurt emotionally? He was going with the latter. "I'm sorry," he sat the magazine he was holding down on a shelf and tried to shoo Reuben, who was still poking his nose at Sayuri. "Can I do anything for you?" Sayuri Satoharu 'Yes,' she knelt next to the dog, holding her hand out to it so he could sniff it. 'My heart hurt..he made..' she stopped, not wanting to talk about Sabin specifically as it would go against who she was but just wanting company. 'I do not think you can do thing about it,' she dabbed her eyes with her kimono sleeve. 'Sankyu for asking.' Lucas Wickham Reuben sniffed her offered hand, then moved toward her face now that it was closer and sniffed and licked it. Lucas was sure he had a kleenex in his bag and rummaged for it, but came up with nothing. Kneeling down in front of her, he pat Reuben's back. "He made your heart hurt?" He wanted to ask who, but it seemed like she did not want to name him. Even if she did, Lucas doubted he'd even know who she meant. There were still so many people he did not know on the island. "Do you want to talk about it?" Sayuri Satoharu A giggle escaped as Reuben licked her face, and she stroked Reubens head, scratching behind his ears. She dropped her head when Lucas knelt down next to her, her face hot with mortification that she was breaking down in front of a virtual stranger. 'I do not want say name,' she said after a while, looking at him again. 'Is dog yours?' she asked, skirting the question. Lucas Wickham "You don't have to say his name if you don't want. I probably wouldn't know him anyway. But yeah, I can understand. You just met me." He smiled pleasantly. "Just... well, if you want to talk, I'm here to listen." He scratched Reuben's back while the dog continued to look to Sayuri for more petting and attention. "His name is Reuben. And he belongs to someone else named Emelyn. His owner... she is not well, so I'm watching him while the labs are taking care of her." Sayuri Satoharu 'You are kind,' Sayuri looked mostly at the dog, continuing to scritch behind the animal's ears. 'If I want talk, I will remember you listen.' She smiled properly this time, gratefully at Lucas. 'I hope your friend is better soon.' She wondered if Sabin would be the one looking after the Emelyn-owner. Treacherous thoughts...she didnt want to think about her Danna because it just made her more upset. She stood again, her legs starting to complain a little from being in that position. 'Did you come to watch?' she nodded towards the tv screen. Lucas Wickham "Thank you." He smiled, also wishing for the same. "I'm not sure what I was going to do here. I'd just never been here before and decided to check it out." He looked over his shoulder and gestured to the shelves. "I was just looking over their library when you showed up." He turned back to her. "Don't let me stop you from watching something." Reuben continued to walk around Sayuri, hoping and waiting for more attention. Sayuri Satoharu 'I have not been here before as well.' Sayuri cast a glance over the shelves. 'A..friend,' she said the word with a pained expression. 'Said that there was film I should see. Stah-ah Wars I think it is called.' she smiled at Reuben, leaning and patting the dogs head before looking at Lucas. 'Is that film good. You seen?' Lucas Wickham Lucas felt badly for the young girl and wondered what her friend had done to hurt her. Had there been an argument? However, he would not inquire any further. She didn't want to talk about it and it might very well upset her more if he did ask anymore questions. He just hoped that the friend that she clearly still cared about made up with her. "Star Wars? Yeah, I've seen it. It's one of my favorites," he nodded and gave her a friendly smile. "It's been years since I last saw the old ones, though." There hadn't really been time to go back and watch them since his father fell ill and work consumed his time. "Do you want me help you find the movies?" He pointed toward the shelves full of DVDs. "There are actually six Star Wars movies. Two trilogies. But they were made out of order. But it doesn't really matter which order you watch them." He paused, wondering if she understood or cared. He figured her friend probably meant for her to take a look at the old ones. As he stood and waited for her reply he couldn't help but smile a little with amusement. It just seemed out of place that this cute, soft-spoken and meek girl was coming in here asking about a movie like Star Wars. Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri nodded. 'Please. I not know what I look for.' she listened further and then spoke again. 'He did not say six..' she looked confused. 'Which you think I should watch?' she gave him a pretty smile, trying to charm this friendly, facially-furred man into helping her more. 'I am..' she paused, trying to work her words out. 'This thing..' she pulled the folded notice about the Hallowe'en event out from her obi, opening the paper out and showing him. It would save her trying to pronounce the holiday name after all! 'He say I am getting costume from Stah-eh Wars, and have watch to see.'

Sayuri tries a little swimming in the lake and meets Billy. Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri held her kimono skirts up, her sandalled feet sinking as she moved across the damp mud on the bank of the lake. She wasnt sure why she was trying what Sabin had suggested, her stomach twisting a little as she thought about what had happened when she last saw her Danna. She pushed a smile onto her face, in case anyone was around to see her sadness and carried on, only stopping when she had reached the water's edge. She pushed her sandals off, leaving them on the bank as she walked forwards into the water. She pulled her kimono up..well she was really only wearing her oldest yukata in case she got it too wet or dirty whilst doing this. She stretched her toes, the webbing causing her feet to scull through the water as she walked around in the shallows. She looked around furtively before pulling her robe up further, up to her waist where her tail was free. She wiggled it and flailed a little as the action caused her to go off-balance. Luckily she was still in a shallow part and her feet found the bottom. She stood now, the water at waist length as she wondered how to try this 'swimming' thing. William Woodrow Billy, meanwhile, had been crawling along the bottom of the lake sluggishly, iddly attempting to fish once again. After a morning of sluggish, sedated attempts, he had managed to catch at least one, and he kept it clamped tightly in his psudo-beak as he crawled back towards his rock in the shallows. His chair and backpack of belongings were still far off yet, but he could sence- he supposed 'heard' was the best way to describe it, a disturbance nearby in the shallows. Who did these people think they were, coming in and trying to swim in his lake?? While Billy's usually sharp and vicious nature had been dulled by Moreau's collar, there was little to do about the territorial nature of the octopus and the instincts that had steadily grown in the back of his mind like an eight limbed parisite. Sayuri Satoharu The yukata was soaking the water up nicely, and she shivered as the damp seeped through to her under-kimono and made it stick to her skin. She looked across the calm waters, curious as to what lived in the Lake. Maybe there were pretty fish? She liked fish. She wondered if there were any that had a tail as colourful as hers. Sayuri flicked said tail a little, kicking her legs on the spot as she did so. For a little bit she floated along, drifting sideways as she trod water, toes spreading and the webbed membrane propelling her. She felt herself sinking again, and flailed once more, trying to get back to where she could touch bottom with her feet. Once again she felt the shifting mud beneath her toes and she dragged herself so that she was seated, half in and half out of the water. She wrung out her sleeves, letting her legs just drift up and down in the shallows. 'Peaceful..' she mumbled to herself. And it was.. William Woodrow Billy crept along the bottom of the lake, keeping his coloring a dull brown splotched with grey to blend in with the mud and stones. He would have done something more complicated, but it took far too much concentration than he was capable. Of course, there was nothing he could do about his whitened hair. He saw the feet as the ex-geisha treaded, watching her hurry back to shallower waters. Once she was still for a while, the octopus crawled along the dirt, fish still in his mouth as he wormed a tentacle towards her ankle and grabbed her sharply. Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri was unfortunate in that as Billy's tentacle wound around her ankle she had started to move again. When he tugged she slipped, her head jerking back, her hold on the muddy bank gone and splashed into the shallows. 'Help!' she yelled, coughing out the water that had gotten into her mouth. She kicked out, rolling around, tail getting squashed and then flicking out when she wasnt laid on it. 'Get off me!' she continued to yell, trying to pull her ankle from the water to see what was on it. William Woodrow Billy's grip was not what it once was, and it only took a couple tugs befor he let go. When she crashed back down again, the octopus slowly crawled further into the shallows, lifting his head up out of the water, the dead fish still clutched in his mouth. Sayuri Satoharu 'Owww,' she grumbled, rubbing her neck and head. Her hair had started to come loose from the up-do, and her yukata was completely soaked. She pushed herself up into a sitting position, and was squeezing water from her a sleeve when she saw Billy's head poking up out of the water. '...' she opened her mouth but nothing came out at first. 'What..?' Her mind had kind of shut down at that point - what was it?! The head kind of looked - human. Well if she squinted. 'You grab me?' she asked shakily. William Woodrow Billy groggily finally removed the fish from his mouth, eyes narrowing at the clumsy woman, "No shite, smarty." He gave a snear, pulling himself to where his tentacle legs could support him enough to at least allow his head and shoulders up above the water. It was the closest to standing he was capable anymore. Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri frowned, still squishing the water from her kimono, and dragged her legs up and away from the lake. She scooted back when he pulled himself further from the water, shrinking from the sight of his body glistening in the sunlight. 'Why grab me?' she asked. Mixed with revulsion and fear was curiosity. Obviously he too had been a man at one point. Proper with the right number of legs and everything. She wondered what he had done though to have this change inflicted on him. 'I was just - swim.' and for the first time that she could recall she shot what for her was a nasty look at him. William Woodrow He wobbled, giving a drugged chuckle as the little light on his sedation collar flickered threateningly. "No' here y'aint. This is me lake, lass. So feck off." Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri finally managed to get to her feet, spreading her toes and the webbing between to maintain her balance. 'I not see a..a 'go away' or name sign here.' she declared as she tried to re-arrange her robe. It was still bunched up, and sticking around her thighs, clinging with a cold feeling that was causing her to shiver a little. 'You have big change. You are trapped just like me. You not - not big shot!' William Woodrow Billy stared at her in sedated perplexity at her broken english, lifting up the fish to pointedly tear a strip of meat from it's side and chew it while he tried to make sence of the foreign girl's blatherings. "This IS th'go away sign. Now sod off b'fer I eat tha' bloody tail off yer arse." Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri canted her head to the side, trying to understand a single word that the weird ..thing man was saying. And people had trouble understanding her?! 'I will not go away.' she enunciated the words clearly, the syllables could almost be heard to fall into place. She looked at him, ever more curious as to what exactly he was. 'I am Sayuri.' she introduced herself, even if he wasnt going to be polite she certainly would keep her manners. William Woodrow In his agrivation, the collar gave a flicker and whurr, and the man slumped down slightly in the water, his white hair catching the waves. "Fine," He hissed, eyes lolling as he tried to keep a hold of conciousness, "I'll go." He didn't care anymore. Had this been months ago, his tune would have been different, but his will for most things had run dry since the instilation of the collar. Sayuri Satoharu How very peculiar was this..squid?..man She'd seen that before and it had tentacles a bit like him. Maybe he was a squid man. She bowed to him, merely out of habit rather then a wish to be polite. She felt an air of triumph, uncommon a feeling for a her and she liked it very much. She wanted to try the swimming stuff again, she had made him go away as opposed to her being the one to leave, and so she would return to the lake as she liked. 'Sayonara,' she said formally. Had she been even braver then her small perceived victory had allowed her to be, she would have moved forward to check on him for even she could see he did not look too well. But he wanted to go, and she would - or more could not stop him. William Woodrow That done, the octopus didn't spare her another look, dropping back down under the water to crawl away through the mud and ponder death.

Meets Aislinn in the Cafeteria and arranges to entertain at a teaparty. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn settled into a chair, her plate full of something greasy despite her hatred for those things in general. She was going to have to exercise like -mad- after this to get rid of the excess fat from the grease...but her stomach needed it to sette. She'd also brought out an herbal tea she'd been meaning to try and had brought along with her on the trip. Tea was definitely good, and so was the warmth it was now spreading in her abused stomach. Sayuri Satoharu The Cafeteria seemed empty at first glance; row after row of cleaned to a shine tables flanked on both sides by plastic and metal chairs. Her geta tapped on the floor as she moved along the self-serve area, picking up a bowl of rice, a plate of sliced and cold fruit, a juice drink and finally a sugary treat that Sayuri had come to like very much; an iced and sprinkled doughnut. She'd not had them before coming to the Island, they were a small slice of food heaven for someone raised on a diet of pickled vegetables, rice and fish. Moving away with her tray to find a seat she saw that she wasnt the only one come to eat at this time. A woman was seated across from her, one that Sayuri had not met. As she walked over to the table, she curled her tail tightly under her kimono so that the bump in the line of the cloth wouldnt be noticeable without close scrutiny. 'Hello,' she spoke as she moved around into the womans eyeline. Her head dipped forward in a bow. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn smiled. Well, this new person seemed pretty nice too. And normal. Really, if it weren't for the fact that Tristan and Liamh both had mentioned meeting others that weren't quite human anymore, she'd have disbelieved the whole thing by now. "Hello," she said. The girl struck her as Japanese both because she was wearing a Kimono and because of her behaviour. Fascinating. "I'm Aislinn." She grimaced down at the nasty looking food before her and sighed, "It always surprises me that this stuff actually does serve a purpose sometimes." Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri pulled a chair out opposite Aislinn after placing her chair down and sat. Then stood again, a faint frown on her face as she squashed her tail painfully. She sat carefully this time, crossing her legs at her ankles under the table. 'It is nice to meet Aislinn,' she said, sliding a silver pair of chopsticks from her obi. She picked up her fruit bowl and held it against her front as she transferred a fruit slice into her mouth. She looked at the glistening food on the woman's plate and nodded. 'Why do you eat if it bad?' she asked. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn sighed, "Had too much to drink last night, and the grease helps my stomach. Sort of like medicine. It tastes bad going down, but once its in there, it makes you feel better." She noticed the other's discomfort, and wondered at it, but decided not to ask. The girl was obviously having enough trouble, what with her dotty grasp on the English language. Probably a native of Japan, by her guess. "Would Japanese be easier for you?" she asked in the girl's native tongue. Aislinn was suddenly very glad she'd picked up the language easily enough in college. Sayuri Satoharu 'Oh,' Sayuri didnt know what to say to that. She often got..not very drunk but merry during teahouse parties and worked hard to consume as little alcohol as possible without seeming like she wasnt part of the revelry. 'I try not drink alot. It makes me sick,' and she pulled a face. Then another, a look of surprise as Aislinn addressed her in her native tongue. 'Easier yes,' she said with feeling. 'But I do not improve my english without speaking it, although it is hard not to miss the sound of my language.' She eyed the woman. 'You are not Japanese though.' Her eyes, and face had certain similarities that most people would take to mean they were born in the same place but Sayuri could easily see that she hadnt. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn smiled, switching back to English so that the other could practice, "Ah, no. I'm Vietnamese actually, but I was raised in the good 'ol US of A. I do have a fondness for Asian cultures, and I minored in Japanese, so, yeah, if you need someone to speak to I'll do my best. I trip over some of it sometimes, but mostly I've got a handle on the language." She missed school, suddenly. She'd been going so much of her life, and here she was painfully aware that she'd probably never set foot in a school building again. Perhaps they'd let her continue her classes online or through the mail or something. She'd have to find a way to convince the school she was doing her time with animals, though. Perhaps the labs would write a letter about it. They must have animals.... She paled, "Do you know...about the island? Apparently we're all turning into dinosaurs or some such." Sayuri Satoharu 'I think your speaking of my..language,' she said, finally remembering the word after a little pause. 'Is better then my words of english, but I get better every time I speak it.' she smiled at Aislinn. 'You are new then?' Sayuri had guessed she was because there did not seem to be any outward signs of change. 'The Island is..' she tried to not to be said as she thought about what Sabin had told her, but thinking of that made her think of him and she really missed him. 'We are all stuck. No go home. And we change so that doctors can..find things out.' It was the most basic of explanations but all the science talk had been over her head as she had still been uncomfortable in Sabin's company when he explained it to her. Aislinn_Derry Ah, well, at least she already knew. It seemed like Aislinn had been the only person to -not- know. Did everybody else get an introductory speech from Dr. Duvert that she'd missed? Ah well. "I hope my speaking of your language is decent. I studied it for five years." She finished the french fries and looked at the burger. No. She just couldn't bring herself to touch it. She took a sip of the tea instead, "Find out things, huh? So maybe they'll fix my pelvic bone afterall," she mused. She might turn into a bracchiosaurus, but hell, at least she'd be able to walk properly again. "Yes, I'm new. I just got here the day before yesterday." Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri nodded. 'It is good.' she speared a piece of fruit with a chopstick this time, chewing on it before talking again. 'You have injury? Is it painful?' she looked at Aislinn. She didnt seem like she was in a lot of pain, other then that which she had caused with her drinking, and from where she sat she couldnt see anything below her waist. 'I have been here a few week now. It is very strange here.' Which was would could be called a large understatement! Aislinn_Derry Aislinn sighed, "Only if I move wrong. The injury's years old, but it never healed completely, so I'm stuck with this.." She held out the cane for the other to see, and then patted her leg, "And the leg brace." She didn't really want to think about the accident right now...but really, at the moment the only other choice was to think about the island and all the things to -come-...which she accepted by Kim's appearance could very well be worse than the accident had been. Still, to recover full motility...be able to use her legs again. Was that worth turning into a some kind of prehistoric creature? Perhaps. Those she'd met here seemed pretty nice. She'd miss her friends, but they'd been growing apart since her accident anyhow, especially with her veterinary work and schooling taking up huge amounts of her time. Sayuri Satoharu 'I am sorry to hear that,' Sayuri said with feeling. She couldnt imagine living with pain on a daily basis. When she'd had her first change..well that had been bad enough and she hoped it wouldnt be repeated. 'What you do before here?' she asked as she finished her fruit, taking a long drink. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn grinned, "I'm a veterinarian," she sipped at teh tea again, ignoring the rest of the food on her plate. Really, that fruit was starting to look rather good. Perhaps she'd go grab some of her own, "Though, I'm still just an assistant at work. I have to finish my next degree before I can become a full vet. ...though, what good will it do here amongst the dinosaurs?" Sayuri Satoharu That was a long word, and one Sayuri had never encountered before. 'What does that mean? What you are..I am sorry, I do not know that word.' She was puzzled. Dinosaurs was a word she did know of, she wasnt sure when she had learnt it though. 'I am sorry,' she repeated, her nose wrinkling a little. 'Why do say dinosaurs here? You have seen them?' After all, Sayuri hadnt met everyone. Or been everywhere on the Island. But so far she had only met people who were turning into animals of some sort. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn smiled, "Ah. It means I'm an animal doctor," she told the other, "For little animals mostly, but I've got some field experience with the big ones." She stretched, trying to decide if she wanted to stand up and get some of that fruit, "And yeah, I saw a girl who said she was turning into a Pterodactyl." Sayuri Satoharu 'Oh animal doctor.' Sayuri wondered if she would recognise what kind of fish that she was becoming. Not that she was about to drop her kimono and show her! But it was just an idle thought. She started picking at her rice. 'I do not..that is dinosaur? I have only seen people as animals. Frog man. Deer lady. And a few who had not had change. And some who not know what they become.' She pointed at Aislinn's food with her chopsticks. 'You not eat that?' Aislinn_Derry Aislinn pondered this, "Maybe they're a prehistoric frog and deer variety? Why would you want a zoo that has both dinosaurs and regular animals? I mean, and especially a frog. Why would you create a frog from a human for a zoo unless it wasn't a frog you could just grab off the street?" She was, at this point, thoroughly convinced the Moreau project consisted of turning people into prehistoric creatures so they could make money off of some sort of zoo. Just like in the movie Jurassic park, only with people being turned into dinos instead of dinos being created out of thin air. She shook her head, "No, it's really disgusting. I don't think I can make myself eat it even if it will help settle my stomach. But that fruit looked good. I might go grab some myself." Sayuri Satoharu 'Zoo? Why do you think this zoo? I was told by..a friend,' Sayuri still couldnt say Sabin's name without looking hurt so she didnt say it. 'That no one leave Island. If people come see animals, they not be able to leave either.' She thought it was logical, at least her words sounded so to her! 'No one tell me that they are zoo animal. They just say people are bring here to be animals.' Sayuri nodded; 'I would not eat it. Should get something nicer.' Aislinn_Derry Aislinn shrugged, "It seems like the most likely option to me. Why else would they want to turn people into dinosaurs, if they're not going to profit from it?" She got to her feet, tossing the burger in the nearest trash can and went to grab some fruit before returning to sit next to Sayuri again, "Ahhh. Much better. My stomach agrees." She bit into a strawberry and her eyes rolled back, "Though, somehow I feel this terrible craving for some sort of green vegetables, but I want fruit for the sugar. That should help with the shock." Sayuri Satoharu 'But people not turn into dinosaurs..' she shrugged as she said it. Maybe this was just Aislinn's way of dealing with the Island. After all it had taken Sayuri quite a while to accept what the place was about.
'It is better for you,' Sayuri agreed. 'I always have rice after party, help if I have been made to have sake.' She pushed away the empty bowl. 'Why did you have much to drink?' Aislinn_Derry Aislinn sighed, "Well, Kim was turning into a dinosaur....and she's the only one who's turning into anything that I've met so far." She looked at the little Japanese girl and smiled, "Oh...well, sometimes...when you know you're going to feel cruddy in the morning anyways...sometimes I feel it's okay to go a bit overboard with the drinking. It makes you feel better for a little while, and when the alternate is feeling cruddy...well, yeah." She pondered getting some rice, but really, her stomach was protesting the idea of any more food for a few more hours. "Do you host tea parties, then?" Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri didnt quite understand that logic. The only reason she drank any kind of alcohol was to join in with the party. Geisha and Maiko had to drink, but not get drunk. 'Well.. might there be another thing which make you feel better but without pain?' she didnt know quite what that thing would be, but she at least was trying help. She shook her head at Aislinn's question. 'Maiko and Geisha are hired to entertain for teahouse parties. Big company men arrange parties.' Aislinn_Derry Aislinn blinked, her eyes widening in surprise, "You're a Maiko?" she asked. Well, really, she ought to have known by....by what? All Japanese seemed to be terribly formal most of the time. Still, to wear a kimono on a regular basis sort of showed a sense of traditionalism most of the Japanese she'd met before did not have. "That's lovely! We'll have to have a tea ceremony or something sometime for you. I've never seen a Geisha before." Maybe this place wasn't that bad. So long as she wasn't turning into a dinosaur yet. Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri nodded. 'When I came here I was. What I am now..' she frowned a little bit. 'I have feeling that who I am is falling away. It is tricky.' She smiled at the thought of entertaining formally again. 'I would like. I have danced just one time for people since I come here.' Again she nodded before speaking. 'I think little people see Geisha if not Japanese. It is hard to see.' she spoke with a hint of pride in her voice. The flower and willow world was meant to be hard to enter...the only men that were ever privy to some of the inner workings were dressers or wig makers. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn smiled, "I have a bunch of different teas I brought with me that we could try out as well. I'm sure a lot of people would like that..." She wondered if perhaps she could convince Liamh to come. He had really been incredibly sweet the night before, and she'd like to see him again. Kim as well, as she felt she owed the other a bit of an apology. The shock was starting to melt from her system as she met more and more people that made this place much more bearable. "Perhaps that will help you remember who you are, no? You're not some kind of freak, you're still a person." Sayuri Satoharu 'People like sake more I found,' she said with a smile. 'It is lucky that I bring some when I come here. But then I did think I was entertain more then I have.' She moved the bowl around with a fingertip, letting it turn on the table. 'If you want party I will dance. Play shamisen. I will happily to do so. You have many friend?' Aislinn_Derry Aislinn shook her head, "I don't. I've only...met a few people so far. Tristan, Liamh, Kim, you. But there's a bulletin board...we could post it there. Maybe have a sign up so we know who'll be there and what they want to see there, like, sake and tea and stuff." She beamed. This was really exciting. A proper Geisha dance. She'd never seen such a thing, of course, and she could just imagine how beautiful it'd be. She enjoyed cultural activities and this would be the perfect opportunity to see some. Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri clapped her hands together at the thought, excited at the idea that seemed to be forming. She hoped this party would happen, very much so. 'You will do that thing? I must practice..' she chewed on her lip. She would have to practice, and practice alot. She had been neglecting her shamisen playing especially, and she did not want to look bad in front of new people. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn nodded, "Sure. I think we'll have to wait until after Halloween, since there's that party the staff is putting on then, but we could do it soon after that. I'll start the list and all that soon." She was already organizing things in her head, illness forgotten. The woman stood, pushing her seat in after her, "I hope you don't mind, but I think I'm going to head back to my place now. I want to start getting stuff together. I'm in Duplex 73 if you need me." Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri bowed after leaving her chair. 'Yes, the Festival. Maybe I will see you there also.' she smiled at Aislinn then shook her head. 'I have to practise if I am to perform for many people.' she giggled, a little nervous at the thought but still excited. 'I am 61. It was pleasure to meet you.' Aislinn_Derry "It was indeed a pleasure. And hey, let me know when you're ready, then. I don't want to start this thing before you are." She adjusted her hair a bit. She was still a little disheveled looking as she hadn't been bothered with styling and such when she'd been feeling so cruddy. "I'll make sure I've got everything together and then whenever you can do it we'll get started." Sayuri Satoharu 'I will come find when I am ready for party,' Sayuri said, stepping a little from the table. 'Sankyu. I will see Aislinn soon.' With a little wave she had pattered off, the geta sounding on the Caf floor. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn nodded, heading off to her room as well. She had a lot of research to do, for one thing. She wanted to make sure they had all the decorations and such. She would have to see about contacting one of the people in charge to get them. Probably Dr. Duvert, as she'd spoken with him before and felt more comfortable doing so again even if he did have a part in this whole mess.

The eventful past few days have left you quite tired and achy this morning. Unpleasant dreams and a sore body accompany a dry mouth and a sore throat. You don't feel good at all... in fact, the last time you've felt this under the weather... was the last time you changed. And almost as soon as the thought would occur to you, you see the tiny blue scales spreading. spreading all the way down your legs until they join with your already blue feet. meanwhile, the very tips of your ears get a small coating of the same scales. The sensation is strange, tingline, and itchy, pushing out of skin, smooth and cool to the touch. Then your feet begin to feel very strange. Your toes begin to elongate and loose their definition, stretching that webbing all the while. Your tail also begins to lengthen and grow - thicker, longer, and stronger. While it is certainly still flexible, there's no way that you're going to be able to completely hide it under a kimono. Then... there's the most curious sensation along the sides of your neck. All at once, it feels as if a knife were slitting your throat - three slices on each side, but both from the inside and out! You gasp, and as you do, you can feel air rushing through the grooves on your neck, and over fanlike patterns of blood vessels in the slits.

Sayuri rubbed her eyes, puffy slits that were struggling to open. Still half-awake, she turned on her bed, moving legs from under the covers and put them on the floor, standing and then promptly fell over in a heap beside her bed. Her eyes watered, and she rubbed them again, then her knees where she had landed painfully. 'Stupid feet,' she mumbled as she used the bed to pull herself up right. A couple of days had passed since her latest change and she was still finding walking hard. When she was tired, or not paying attention to the placement and position of the flipper-feet she lost her balance. This time she placed her feet down carefully, heel first, the flipper part rolling down flat slowly. In this manner, she crossed the room, shivering in her hip-wrap, making her way into the bathroom. A hot bath was in order, wash her hair and soak and she would feel awake. Or at least just clean and a little more relaxed. After using the toilet, she started the water running, combing her hair out in front of the cabinet mirror, thankful that whatever was happening to her, and whatever she was becoming hadnt taken her hair away from her. She wasnt vain by any stretch of the imagination, but she considered her hair to be the only thing that she would admit looked nice about her. The hip wrap was removed, the taps turned off before the bath overfilled and she stood for a moment, her now longer tail moving slowly from side to side. She ran her hands over her legs, feeling the edges of the scales, the smooth, almost polished surface of each one, and wondered a little at how they lay in the interlocking pattern along her legs. The scales were still fairly sparse around her waist and hips, though there were definately more. The small v between her legs was still scale free, the patch of dark hair at odds to the brilliance of the scales near it. Shivering overtook her thoughts and she carefully got into the bath, letting herself sink into the warm and foamed water. In the bath she felt so much better, letting herself float a little, so small she was that she had some room to drift. She moved her flippers, noticing that even in this confined space, they gave a great deal of push through the water. After amusing herself in this way for a while, with the flip of her feet and the swish of her tail, thoughts turned to washing of the hair. She took a breath, ducking under and swishing her head around to soak her hair before she shampooed it. Her eyes bugged and she popped her head up, spluttering. Reaching up to her neck, she gingerly probed the gills. How did they work? She had been able to breathe under the water, hadnt felt the tight feeling that you got when you were striving not to breathe. She shut her mouth and slid back under the water, and the gills did their thing, allowing her to get the oxygen even in the bath. Breaking the surface again she giggled, pushing her hair out of her face. So maybe this new change wasnt all bad. But would the novelty last long enough to distract from the fact that she would find it difficult to dance? For now, she really didnt want to think on it.
Once out, dry and back in the main area of the Duplex, Sayuri got herself a drink, knelt on the floor by the low dining table and stared into space, concentrating on nothing. Eventually she sighed. She would have to brave walking outside. Go out and be seen by people. She would have to find a way to accomodate her new tail size in kimono. And she needed to work out her mixed feelings. She felt..strongly about Sabin. But it wasnt affectionate feelings, it was - well she guessed it was anger. Mixed up with duty and honour of the bond they were meant to have. And then...Oz. She smiled, thinking of how sweet, attentive and gentle he had been. Her first kisses. She hoped they wouldnt be her last, she enjoyed the act so. Well, she could not sit here all day, every day. She got up, standing properly first time and flipped flopped over to her dresser. It was time to find a kimono that she could adjust without getting too distressed about ruining it..

Catching up with Aislinn Sayuri Satoharu It was a slightly despondent Sayuri that finally knocked on the door of Duplex #73. She had fallen over a couple of times, each time landing on her scaled knees and picking herself up to keep going. She brushed dirt from her kimono - the longer and thicker fish tail lazily moving from side to side, peering out from a slit in the back of her kimono, she had finally adjusted a few of the slightly less colourful ones so that she could leave her Duplex - and waited for Aislinn to answer the door. She wondered how Aislinn would react..would she be afraid of the Maiko? She hoped not, Oz's reaction had been bad enough. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn had taken to covering up her own changes as best as she could. While the gray in her hair and the pointed ears would show no matter what, she'd found that a pair of heavy jeans went a long way to cover her hairy legs, and she wasn't terribly concerned about her black toenails being visible. They looked painted to the naked eye. Or at least, she thought they did. She opened the door to her apartment, pulling on a pair of the mentioned jeans as she did-- she'd been lax about getting dressed and such, as she'd been keeping to herself more since the changes. She just didn't feel as confident as she had before. "Hello?" she asked, then caught her breath. It was...strange seeing Sayuri as she was now. It was rather obvious she was turning into some sort of fish, and...it startled her. Sayuri Satoharu 'Hello,' she said quietly, and bowed low. Her hair slipped forward and as she straightened she pushed it back behind her ears, frowning as her fingers touched the new form of them. 'I hope Aislinn is okay. I had to come speak.' She looked fairly miserable as she was still finding walking hard. It was the concentrating on her steps, if she forgot herself and just tried to stroll as normal she would lose her balance. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn, on the other hand, was actually having an easier time of walking since her incident. While she still had to keep the cane with her, she was leaning on it a lot less. She moved forward automatically, taking the woman's arm and trying her best to help her walk while still functioning with her own problem, "I am..well, I've been better. But, you look miserable." Well, really, not much sense walking around it. She did look miserable, and the best way to open up conversation was to give her the opportunity to speak of it. Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri let Aislinn help her a little, just enough to get inside her Duplex and then protested gently. 'You have own hurt. Should not be helping me.' she teetered a little but managed to stay upright this time. She nodded, letting out a frustrated sigh. 'You have place to sit? Easier then me fall over, and over..' she said, angry at her own body. She had had clumsy moments before the Island, but nothing compared to the last few days. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn nodded towards the bed, "You'll probably be most comfortable sitting there," she informed the other, "But you can sit in the chair if you'd prefer," She motioned to the plush chair located next to her book-case, "Do you want anything? A drink or something?" She had a few things stored in that mini-fridge other than alcohol. "And really, my hurt's been feeling a little better." Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri sank gratefully onto said bed, tilted a little so that she didnt hurt her tail. She crossed her legs at the ankles, one flipper sliding on top of the other and resting there. 'Sankyu,' she said, and then shook her head. 'I am okay, sankyu.' She look a little puzzled as she looked at Aislinn. 'You had thing on leg?' she asked hesitantly. She didnt want to cause offence by prying but she was curious as to why the woman wasnt wearing the leg..thing. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn shrugged, "I guess whatever they gave me worked some. My leg's supporting my weight a lot better, and I don't need the brace anymore. Still limping, though," She grinned half-heartedly, hobbling into the kitchen, "though you look like you could use a cane or crutches or something. It must be very difficult to walk around like that. Sort of like wearing those swimming flippers around all the time." She remembered doing that as a kid out on the Boardwalk and the beaches. Sayuri Satoharu 'You have had change?' Sayuri looked at Aislinn properly, but couldnt see anything that looked different. Nothing that she could discern that wasnt covered by clothes that was. She cast her eyes floorwards at the mention of her feet. 'It is hard. I do not even know if I can dance anymore. I have fallen on knees so many time..times since change.' Aislinn_Derry Aislinn sighed. It seemed like Sayuri really needed to have a companion in this, so...she'd have to sacrifice her dignity a bit. She liked the woman, and wanted to be friends with her anyhow. She pulled up the leg of her jeans just a little bit, revealing the feathery white fur that fell to her ankles, "Yeah. A little. Just hairy legs, pointy ears, and a bit of grey, really. Oh, and my toenails," She wiggled her bare feet to draw attention to that, "Have you tried dancing? Maybe if you just practice you could do it. If not, that's okay. We could still do a tea party, right? Just serve tea and maybe you could show us how to fold paper or something." Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri tilted her head, examining the furred ankles that Aislinn was showing her. 'It hurt?' How strange. Sayuri almost wished she had been the one to sprout fur. That seemed a far nicer thing then her tail and flippers. Fur like that could easily be hidden. Of course she wasnt thinking that this was only the first of a few changes for Aislinn, mired a little in self-pity as she was. 'May-be.' she said slowly, then seemed confused. 'Fold paper. Why I do that?' Aislinn_Derry "'Hurt' doesn't even begin to describe it," Aislinn looked particularly solemn for a moment, remembering. That evening had been hell, and she wanted to forget it, really. Had spent the past few days trying to forget it. The drinking had only helped until she started puking and her head hurt, and then it just made her more miserable, so she'd stopped. "I don't know. Origami's big over there, right?" Sayuri Satoharu 'I am sorry.' Sayuri said with feeling. She knew what it was like, the pain and the panic, not knowing what was happening to your own body. 'Sayuri was at beach when this happen,' she gestured to her feet, the scales on her legs just visible when she shifted, and her kimono skirts moved. 'And..' she smiled nervously. 'Sayuri wasnt alone.' she giggled a little, then shook her head. 'If I fold paper at party, I would not get asked back again. If I can not dance I can play shamisen. Make conversation. Drinking games as well.' Aislinn_Derry "Ahhh," Aislinn smiled, "I always liked Origami myself. But hey, drinking games sound fun too. What's a shamisen?" She stretched, "You weren't alone? So somebody saw you? That's gotta be almost as weird for them as it is for us." Sayuri Satoharu How strange that Aislinn had heard of teahouse parties but not shamisen. 'String instrument,' she struck a pose, placing her hands in the air as if she were holding an invisible shamisen. 'It has plink plonky noise that can sound strange but it hard to sing with out it.' She nodded, her cheeks colouring. 'He did not know about Island.' she said, sounding a little sorrowful. 'Oz is my friend, and I did not want him to find out that way but I could not help it.' she lapsed into silence, fretting again about what he must think of how she looked now. Aislinn_Derry "Ahhh" she'd not done as much research into Japan, despite minoring in their language, as in other countries. She supposed she really ought to do more now that they were planning the teahouse party. "Oh, Oz!" she smiled, remembering his visit to her Duplex not so long ago, "He's a love, isn't he, though?" she rather liked the big teddybear, and she was glad he was getting along with Sayuri if she were to be friends with the both of them. "So it was you he saw before he found me. He was a little upset about the whole island thing, but I gave him a drink and he calmed." Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri nodded without thinking; 'I like him very much.' she rambled. 'I have first kiss with him and when I change he carry me back to his Duplex. I stay in his bed at nigh..' and then she realised how much she had revealed and shut her mouth with a nervous smile, fingers tugging on her kimono sleeve. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn's eyes widened. She wasn't usually a gossip-monger, but it was different when the information came to her! Well, not that she'd tell anyone, of course. Last thing she wanted was to embarrass poor Sayuri like that. Still, this was definitely something she could tease Oz about the next time she saw -him-, as he already knew about it. "Aw, that's sweet!" she grinned, "Man, my first kiss was when I was like fourteen...and even then all my friends thought I was late for it." Sayuri Satoharu 'I was not to see men other then at teahouse,' Sayuri explained, looking at Aislinn again, having finished picking at a thread on her sleeve. 'It was..nice. Very nice.' she giggled. 'Did Oz-san say about me?' she asked, in a voice that was meant to be casual. She wondered if he went around giving kissing lessons to alot of girls, and didnt want to feel hurt as she did with Sabin. Aislinn_Derry She shook her head, "Oh, he didn't. But, he seems really nice. He flirted with me a bit, but I think it's probably because I flirted with him-- I have a tendency to do that, you know." She smiled. This was really sweet! "Maybe we could get him to help out with setting things up for the teahouse party." Sayuri Satoharu 'Oh,' Sayuri felt, what? Disappointment. She would have to stop this. Stop seeing more affection then was true. But it was hard for her as the relationship game was a very new thing for her. 'I have not seen him since I change. I afraid he scared of me.' she said. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn shook her head, "I doubt that. You're too nice to be afraid of." She smiled, "And if we see more of him, maybe we'll find out if he likes you too!" ...suddenly she felt like she was back in highschool. But Sayuri seemed so young, and to have just had her first kiss...well, it rather -was- just like being back in high school. Sayuri Satoharu 'You think so?' Sayuri still had doubts, but after the horridness that had happened with Sabin she wanted to cling to any small hope. Even if it was foolish for her to be so attached to someone so soon. 'He make me feel safe when he hold me,' she confessed, smiling at the rememberance. 'Oh. But I talk to much about me. Do you have someone you have heart love for?' Aislinn_Derry Aislinn laughed, "I had a guy once, but...well, it was never that serious for me. He wanted it to be, but I wasn't ready." She tilted her head thoughtfully, "There are a lot of really cute guys on the island, though. Tristan, who lives next door to me, he's pretty hot. And Liamh's adorable. I should really find him again, he was very sweet to me when I found out about this place." Sayuri Satoharu Sayuri nodded, as if she was understanding but her relative innocence made it difficult for her to relate. She wrinkled her face a little; Aislinn couldnt mean that the Tristan person was actually warm temperature wise, so what did that mean? 'He is hot?' she asked, perplexed. 'Aislinn should be happy. You are nice,' she smiled happily at Aislinn. So far Sayuri had been lucky, the people she had met had been more nice to her then mean. Aislinn_Derry "Oh, Aislinn's almost always happy," she smiled. It was hard not to adopt the speaking habits of others sometimes when you were talking with them-- she picked up accents that way too, and always worried if people would take it the wrong way. They never did, though. Most found it amusing, "Well, in America 'hot' often means 'attractive'. It's more of a physical attractiveness than because they're a good person a lot of times, though. I don't know much about Tristan, but he's definitely an attractive guy, that's what I meant." Sayuri Satoharu 'Oh..' Sayuri fell silent for a moment and then giggled. 'I think Oz-san is hot and nice!' she exclaimed, then looked around furtively. She was being very outspoken about her feelings but Aislinn seemed trustworthy. There had been alot of backstabbing in the Hanamachi and she had foolishly let things slip when she was just starting out, only to have them be told as drunken stories and have people laugh at her expense. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn laughed, "I think I must definitely agree with you on that. I think the two of you would be cute together, too. He's very sweet, and so are you. Though, he's a bit less shy than you are..." She smiled, "But that's okay. Guys tend to be like that." Sayuri Satoharu 'Most men I knew before Island were patrons of teahouse. They were mostly lot older.' Sayuri wouldnt have wanted a relationship with any of them even if it was allowed. Although her okiya mother had often cruelly said that the only Danna she would ever land would be a toothless old man that rated Maiko by the size of their breasts. 'They were all talk talk, and loud. I would be made fun of for being quiet.' Sayuri entertained the thought of taking Oz for a boyfriend. But still; what of Sabin? Her ties with him kept coming back to her. What if he hadnt severed their relationship and was merely teaching her a lesson because she had angered him. She sighed out loud. Aislinn_Derry Aislinn blinked, "You okay?" she asked. The woman seemed a bit trouble, "Hey, why don't we do something fun? We could go to the..er...rec room or something, watch a movie, or maybe play a game or something? Get your mind off of stuff." Sayuri Satoharu 'I am okay.' She didnt think she could easily explain about her relationship with Sabin, her spotty English would probably make it sound wrong. That and Sabin didnt seem well liked, and maybe Aislinn felt the same way? 'I do not know. What would you want do for fun?'

The next time Sayuri is in her duplex for any length of time and not in the restroom, she hears a beeping noise, a quick crackle, and then the white panel on her intercom that generally appears to be just a part of the plastic springs to life - revealing itself to be a screen. The image begins playing for a moment before the audio kicks in... it's Oz~ and... Antony.... and it begins with Oz making a clumsy attempt of dancing around this vertical pole in a duplex room with Antony watching and laughing.... and progresses from there. When the 'session' finally ends with the couple falling asleep, only then does the video stop, and the panel return to its quiet blankness. There is no explanation, no afterward. Just.... silence.
