Kagome clenched the bedsheets and Sesshomaru's hand. Her face was flushed from exertion.
All right. One down, two to go...
She did her best to regulate her breathing. Her stomach muscles tightened and protested from the strain. She could somewhat feel the remaining two pups squirming inside her, impatiently waiting to enter the world.
Sucking in a large breath, she pushed with all her might.

"Your second is determined to get out." Kikyo watched Kagome struggling to bring the other two into the world and reached out as their second finally decided it would "And no wonder. Just like the rest of the males in his family; too determined for their own good." Sesshomaru looked up at that comment and frowned at Kikyo. "It's a beautiful boy."
She cleaned their son quickly as she did with and placed him in the crib alongside his sister. She turned back to Kagome again and readied herself for the last child.
"A little girl..." Sesshomaru repeated. He had half expected his reaction to be utter and complete disgust over having a girl as his first born child but he wasn't. Sure he had wanted all boys but strangely, he was imaging all fun and trouble he was going to have trying to corrupt the little girl into not acting like her mother and driving her crazy.
Sesshomaru could feel Kagome's waning strength and he rubbed his nose against "Just a little longer...and just think, you'll be able to sleep for however long you want without me bugging you." He stole a glance into the crib and shook his head. "Our children are beautiful..."

Kagome was exhausted. But she still had one more child to be born, followed by the afterbirth. Her mind felt fuzzy and she fought against the flickering darkness threatening to consume her.
Her sweat-soaked hair was gently pushed back and she vaguely felt him nuzzle her. Panting a bit, Kagome pushed again and felt the last one slip out of her womb and into the world.
"Why...Why aren't they crying," Kagome softly muttered. The last wave of contractions came and the afterbirth was expelled from her body.
She sleepily nuzzled Sesshomaru, "...can...I see them...?"

It was over and, surprisingly, Kagome had made it through it all. Shamefully, Kikyo had expected her reincarnation to not have had the strength to make it through but she was proven wrong ((God, that makes her sound so evil)). Kikyo sat back with the last child and rocked the squirming baby in her arms slowly as she cleaned the little girl. The baby was making soft whimpering noises and its tiny face was scrunched up against the bright light of the room.
"Congratulations on all three of them...both of you." Kikyo murmured as she rose with the last child, wrapped neatly in the towel. She stared down at the little red head in her arms and then at her siblings in the crib before she laid the little girl down and began to check of all three of them.
"They are all alright and look very healthy but they're so small. I'm sure they will grow as the weeks go by." She tapped each of their little feet lightly and was happy when all three let out high pitched noises somewhere between a squeak and a yip. She turned away from the three little babies and back at the parents, wanting to know what they wanted to do before she set to the task of cleaning up.
"It's over; all over now..." The demon spoke in a low voice to her as their last child entered the world and was safely in Kikyo's arms. He let his face rest against Kagome and, absentmindedly, he returned her nuzzling. Sesshomaru nodded once against Kagome's head at her request.
"Of course you can see them..." Sesshomaru drew away from Kagome reluctantly and turned to address Kikyo.
"She wants to see her children." He said to Kikyo who merely frowned at him when she was ordered. Sesshomaru turned his attention back to Kagome. "Lean against me and I'll help you sit up. Do you want to hold them?" He asked her
Kikyo turned away from the two new parents and lifted their eldest child away from her siblings in one arm and turned to Kagome, waiting for her to position herself enough to see the first of her three children.

((ah, so Pacifica is the oldest? I'll keep this in mind =3 ))
Kagome sleepily heard the soft noises coming from the puppies. Perhaps she was just too tired or occupied to hear them before. Opening her eyes, she blinked slowly.
"Mmkay," she agreed. With his help, she shifted until she was upright, leaning on Sesshomaru.
With her arms open, she reached for her first daughter. "...She's...beautiful..." she cooed, gently stroking the pale blue fur.
Her eyes brimmed with tears. That roller coaster ride that started with one fateful night (and sake) finally brought her to this moment. Words couldn't even begin to describe her emotions.
Looking up at Kikyo, she choked, "Th-thank you. For helping us..."

Kikyo bowed slightly towards Kagome. She turned to the crib and positioned it closer to them so they were able to see their other children.
"You're welcome... Turning, Kikyo set to the task of cleaning and gathered up all of the towels and everything that had been used.
"I will be back with fresh clothes you can slip into Kagome." Kikyo bowed once more and left the room with the towels and things to give them the time they need to be by themselves.
It was strange staring down at something that was so small that was a part of him. No, this was all too surreal for him and as he stared down at his daughter, he could see a bit of both of them in her.
"She...really is beautiful. So small... She looks a lot like you and she has my markings..." Sesshomaru turned to the crib and stared down at his son and their other daughter before he looked back at Kagome and noticed her tear filled eyes. "This is all... so strange."

"For so many months, I've waited to meet you," Kagome said softly to the blue puppy. It was really difficult for her not to simply squish the puppy to her chest and cuddle her.
Looking at the puppy's eyes, she giggled, "And she has your eyeshadow..."
Staring at the soft brown eyes, Kagome asked softly, "What would be a good name for her...?"

Sesshomaru was about to tell Kagome that he does not wear eyeshadow like a woman but he noticed it finally his little girl's eyes and eye shadow. He just simply stared down at her and was still completely in shock for the first time in his long life.
"So very beautiful..." Kagome's voice finally broke through his thoughts and he looked at her at a complete loss. "A good name for her?" Sesshomaru paused. "I haven't really given much thought to any names suited for a young girl."
He reached around Kagome and ran the back of his finger against the tiny baby, careful to avoid brushing his claws against her.
"Perhaps something that goes along with her light blue color would suit her."

Kagome giggled when the newborn nipped Sesshomaru's finger and licked it. "I think she likes you..."
"No girl names? Really Sesshomaru..." she playfully scolded. Caressing the soft downy fur, she murmured, "Her hair's a deep blue like the ocean... What about Umi?"
Gently tickling the puppy, Kagome smiled. There was a rasping growl in response and the puppy latched on to her finger.
"Or Pacifica... Like the Pacific Ocean..."

Having his finger nipped, Sesshomaru lifted his hand for his evaluation and noticed the tiny little pinpricks.
"Puppy teeth seem sharper than my own fangs." He looked at Kagome and rolled his eyes at her light teasing even as his somewhat half smirk reappeared. "If I remember correctly, I was planning on three little boys and not two girls and a little boy."
At her first suggestion for a name, Sesshomaru shook his head in disagreement and he was sure this was going to be a long night trying to figure out a name.
"I honestly do not know many girl names but... I do like Pacifica." He lowered his hand again and rubbed his finger against her again. "Pacifica..." He repeated somewhat softly.

Looking over at Sesshomaru, she carefully freed one hand. Pulling at his injured hand, she kissed it. "A kiss to make it better."
"Pacifica..." Kagome repeated. "I like that sound of that, don't you?" Nuzzling the puppy's nose, she said "So you'll be Pacifica."
Arching an eyebrow, she challenged, "All right hot stuff, what do you propose to name the little boy?"

He closed his eyes when she kissed his hand and he moved his fingers to tap at her nose before she drew away from him.
"I'm sure it feels better already." He said, trying to tease her as usual. He opened his eyes at the mention of their son.
"The little boy... I have the most suiting name for him." He said, lifting his head confidently at her challenge. He turned to the crib and stared down at the little boy who had a tuff of silvery hair already atop his head. He was darker than his sisters and this was the son he had been waiting for; though, he would love all three of his children as equally as he could. "I'm almost...doubting I will be able to pick them up. They are so..." He couldn't finish his thought aloud so he pushed his doubts aside. Adjusting himself against Kagome, he turned fully to the crib and scooped their son up without any trouble and he held him so he was able to see him better and so Kagome could also see him as well. "He should have strong name like Katsuro or, perhaps even Shou."

"Because they look so fragile?" Kagome smiled. Newly christened Pacifica made mewing noises as Kagome shifted her. The puppy burrowed closer into Kagome's warmth. "Katsuro? I might end up calling him " Katsudon" if you do that..." she giggled, "I don't think he'll like that very much..." "Shou... It's simple yet powerful..." she said, testing out the name. "I like it." Peering at the navy puppy, she tickled him under his chin, "I'm sure he'll grow into the name." Stroking Pacifica, she asked, "And our other little girl...?" ((Katsudon looks delicious...))

The demon lord nodded in agreement. They were fragile and as he held the little boy, he continually looked down to make sure he was holding him correctly. He looked up from their son when she began to giggle and though he rolled his eyes, he felt himself smirk slightly. She was such a weird person...
"Kagome, I know for sure that if he is anything like me, he would love for you to call him that." He replied, shaking his head at her. He looked back down at their son and nodded. "Shou? Yes... Shou will do nicely."
Their navy son, now dubbed Shou, wrinkled his nose at beginning tickled and he opened his eyes slightly to stare at the thing touching him but the light caused too much pain on his eyes and he had to shut them again. He began to make a small whimpering noise and tried to move his head to n** at the finger tickling him.
Sesshomaru looked down at the little red haired girl in the crib and he shrugged lightly.
"She has fiery red hair; her name should reflect that but..." He frowned, remembering something that he had heard someone talking about awhile back. If what he had heard was true...how was he supposed to explain that to woman beside him? Sighing, he continued. "I... do not think she can stay here with us."

Kagome shivered, "I'm not sure if I can handle TWO sesshomarus running around, terrorizing the world..." She could see it now...
Sesshomaru and his mini me raising their swords and bravely pronouncing... "Protect the Fluff! Fear the Fluff!"
She couldn't help but snort at the mental image.
Tapping the puppy on the nose, she cooed, "You'd have to be faster than that!"
Looking back at Sesshomaru, his words processed in her mind.
"Eh? Why?" she said, nearly dropping Pacifica. The puppy yelped, scrambling to cling to her mother. Wrapping her arms securely around the puppy, she softly cooed but raised her eyes questioningly to him.
