"Because these people have in some way or somehow ticked off the authorities. The reason I get paid is 'cause the government doesn't have the right stuff to bring 'em down themselves, so they depend on people like me," she said as she took a long drag and blew a cloud of smoke into the air.

Ripps stood up and leaned over the table so she could see the first name on the list. "22k. Not a bad beginning price and not a bad target," she said as she looked the name over and grinned.
