I feel like my current set up mixes between being some type of shrine to books and a Buddha statue I have and a place where I keep rocks and acorns that put me in a good mood when I picked them up... xD I need to clean it again though..

I have a ton of Buddha stuff in my guest room, which is also where I keep all my books. Unfortunately, I don't have my altar up right now. The joys of having two cats and a toddler, I can't keep anything out.

Because I have no where else to put them, plus I have a three year old and two cats that will try to knock them down if I have them anywhere else.

I have a question. When you make food offerings, what do you do with you're food offerings? Like, how long do they have to be there, and do you throw them away once you take them off? Burry them?

It depends on the spirit. You can throw it out, bury it, or even eat it yourself. You just have to let the spirit know what you're planning on doing with it and if they find it a suitable method.
Anyway, my altar consists of a ceramic, carved goblet in the middle, surrounded by all sorts of nuts, leaves, shells (sea and one abandoned snail shell), books on spirits, paganism and spells, a metallic, painted frog and a crystalline crab. It takes up a full shelf on my bookshelves. ^^

ITs more fhte Essence that is "gone" and what your giving more then they physically parktaking in the food. or whatever you left

sweatdrop I need to clean mine... And actually do something with it... Right now it just ends up with rocks and shells that make me smile on it... o.O I think that getting a plant on it would be nice... And a nice touch for winter when my brain's frizzing out because of all the white.

And Miss Mor, that was actually teh plan I was thinking of. xD My gram has one that's getting too big for her pot, so I was going to ask her about getting some... Gives me another chance to try not to kill a plant. *Likes plants but has black thumbs*

Gives me another chance to try not to kill a plant. *Likes plants but has black thumbs* my aloe plant is huge...& desperately needs a transplant...right now it's in the main room upstairs...but it's kept at 60 degrees up there so it's not fairing too well. but it is twice the size it was when i bought it! so i'm happy...like u i'm not very lucky with plants...
