Rahmoon Hey, have any of you guys played "South 21st Shuffle" during Marching Season? That song goes to the D over double ledger and just gives me a headache. Its fun though, and it sounds real nice. Also, the song "Hey Pachuco" goes to the same D at the end of the piece. I love my show xd Crud... I saw Hey Pachuco laying around the band room a coupla weeks ago. And it wasn't there last year. sweatdrop

*Nods sagely* I have a Bach Strad too...but I use a straight 3 instead of a 3c...improves sound...our section leader can play extremely high, but he's using a 1/4 now, so he can't go as high now...

My trumpet teacher said a 3c would be about right for me. I'm currently using a 7c that came with my trumpet and it works fine for me. Last week our band director gave the first trumpets TC1s (at least I think it said TC). He told us these would make us louder, but they make low notes difficult and they screw up my tone quality.

I like the t-pet, Music Pir4t3. Good jorb! (the r is there on purpose...)
After 2 weeks of waiting, the band's new cornet finally came in. I'm still in shock from the sight of it. I never knew cornets could shine so brightly. Apparently I'm not the only one because the whole trumpet section stared in awe when I took it out of the case. blaugh

What type of mouthpeice does everyone use? I use a 3c for marching and a 5c for concert, purely becuase the 3c allows me to be louder and it helps my range, while the 5c allows me to have a really, really nice tone quality.

we already had a discussion about mouthpieces a couple of pages back, but I'll, repeat myself, I use a straight 3, not a 3c.

*sigh* I'm being moved to the Horn section for Concert band season due to the fact that we have about 8 trumpet players compared to the 5 we have marching. Marching season's not over yet, and already I miss playing my trumpet in the band.
