As Jason looked toward the top of the ravine again they were not spotted with three star shaped platforms. It would take him to the top, but it was also not going to be easy. He wasn't sure if he should thank the figure or beg him to produce some more platforms so this journey could be just a bit easier.

Well, if getting out of here using those platforms was the only way he was ever going to wake up again, then he had better get started. He gave the mysterious figure a little wave and then made his way over to the first platform. He was never a particularly big fan of exercise of any kind. What he did do, he did because it would simply help keep him alive a little longer while out on patrols.

With a bit of a huff he grabbed onto whatever he could mange and started his climb toward the top. There was some slipping and sighing along the way. If this really was a dream and he was in control of it, certainly he could try and give himself some super ability to make this easier, but try as he might all he could down was put inch up the old fashioned way.

It really sucked to be doing this the old-school way. The top of this particular platform was at least getting closer, but he was already getting warn out. Stupid dream, why was he getting tired? This was all in his mind right?

Finally, he claimed up to the top of the first platform and had a chance to rest before moving on to the next one. He could stand on his own two feet. He did look down for a second and then back up to the top. Less than half way, how frustrating. Two more to go. At least when he finished the next one he'd be past the half-way point.

Time to get started on the next one he supposed. He took a deep breathe, like he was about to dive into the water, and started his next climb. Maybe it was knowing that after this one was done he'd be so much closer to the top, but he started out at a quicker pace then he had with the first one.

His initial quick pace was started to back fire on him now. He was slipping up here and there in his desire to get this over with quickly rather than smartly. He did learn something through all of this. Hiking would never be a passion of his. Never. In fact, he never wanted to see a canyon or ravine in real life after this.

He was getting so, so close to the top now. Just a few more pushes and it was just about in his grasp. He had to do one more after this. Seriously, could he have no just made some stairs? That would have been so much easier.

This time as he pulled himself up over the top he found himself sitting on his knees to catch his breathe. He also didn't dare to look down at this point. He didn't particularly care for heights. Much less after exhausting himself with all the climbing required to make it back to the top.
Come to think of it, a magical elevator would have also been nice.

But oh no, he had to climb his way out. Might as well get started, the sooner this was over with the better. This time around he was more careful on his way up. Though, that probably had more to do with him being tired than anything else.

Maybe slow and steady really was the better way to go. He seemed to be making quicker pace this time around. Or maybe the platforms weren't equal in their heights. With his goal so close in hand, it could be that time just felt like it was moving faster.

He was so, so close to the top and as his hand reached up and pulled himself over the last platform his eyes opened. He popped up in his bed, just like he'd been trying to do for who knows how long. Somehow he felt exhausted, despite his bed feeling so welcoming earlier. Just how long had he been trapped in that nightmare?
He glanced toward the clock and noticed a small vial of glitter next to it. It had been a dream, right? Well, this wouldn't be the first time that something in a dream had some effect on him in the real world.
Too concerned that going back to bed would land him back in that ravine, he decided to get back to work on looking for a good studio location.
