It seemed Dotty, Vivace and Ai were all in agreement... they hadn't heard anything. Was it because Radium and Piper had been higher up? That seemed logical. Dotty made mention that the lack of Pokemon could very well because they'd run away. "True... I guess I wouldn't stick around with some madmon running around." The mouse replied. Vivace then pipped in that perhaps they shouldn't stand around and should keep moving, which also seemed like the right thing to do. Radium looked ahead, starting to move in the direction they'd been walking the entire time. She couldn't shake that sound she'd heard from her head... her back fur was standing on end as she took each new step... but then the fog seemed to clear and just ahead of her a figure stood before a large stone staircase. The figure was shrouded in inky black fog that seemed to swirled outward, revealing little bits of whatever was hidden beneath it every so often. Radium felt the sparks at her cheeks come back up, to which the mouse hugged her stick even tighter. Yea that was obviously their opponent, but even still... the mouse felt extremely uneasy about it.

What a strange place… Mystery Dungeon Who are you people? Radium, Dotty, Ai, Vivace
☆ ☆【 Upon returning to the group to report their findings and just barely catching the tail end of the conversation between their other teammates, the tension in the atmosphere around them seemed to grow tenfold as Piper and Radium spoke of what they’d found. Ai agreed that there seemed to be something ominous on the horizon, and suggested that they stay on guard for anything dangerous that may come out from the mist. ”Y-Yeah… It’s h-hard to tell otherwise w-what could be out th-there, but I’ll k-keep my ears o-out for anything that c-could mean trouble,” she said, still very on edge after hearing the whispering noises from earlier. They had been coming from the same direction this path was leading them towards… which made it all the more unnerving… She couldn’t help feeling that they would have trouble on their hands sooner than they would like, but at this point the most they could do was be prepared for it. Ai mentioned that she hadn’t sensed anything, and Dotty agreed as well, suggesting that the Noivern was likely a far more reliable source of hearing than most everyone else. Even Vivace agreed with the others, it was possible that they hadn’t heard anything because they didn’t have quite as keen hearing. Not to mention Piper and Radium had been higher up off the ground, but still… The two Psychic-types had mentioned earlier not being able to sense anything because something about the fog was dampening their abilities, perhaps that could also be why they hadn’t heard the weirdly ominous sounds?
Piper looked towards Dotty as the Duosion went on to further suggest that perhaps the eerie lack of other life in this world was likely because any other inhabitants of this dream world had fled to get away from Darkrai. Radium agreed on that being a possibility, and it certainly made a bit more logical sense to the Noivern as opposed to this world being just completely empty save for the one Munna who had greeted them at the beginning of the path. ”It could be p-possible… E-either that or p-perhaps Darkrai has them imprisoned s-somewhere?” she suggested, really there could be quite a few possibilities here to explain why the forest around them was so silent. Then again, if it was true that all other Pokemon here had fled after Darkrai showed up, then why would that Munna have stayed behind to tell them to go after this being? Dotty seemed to think that aforementioned Munna was suspicious, and suggested that maybe they should do some experimentation to try and prove or disprove that they were in the dream world. ”I s-suppose so… Though h-how would you s-suggest doing th-that, Dotty?” she inquired, wondering if the Duosion had any means of actually testing out this ‘hypothesis’ in mind.
Vivace then spoke up, suggesting that they would have to be even more careful and that they had to keep going. ”Y-Yeah… We r-really don’t have m-much choice aside from m-moving forward,” Piper agreed, a bit surprised at such determination coming from the tiny eggshell Pokemon, ”W-We’ll just h-have to proceed w-with caution… Th-There’s no t-telling what’s l-lurking in that fog until we f-find it… or it finds u-us…” As they proceeded forward, Piper noticed the gradual change in scenery as the grass of the forest path gave way to a moss-laden stone path, as well as the high stone archway that they passed underneath. The fur of her mane stood on end as she felt that same sinister aura wash over her, the familiar sounds of the incoherent whispers she’d heard earlier growing louder and more fervent with each step they took closer to it. Gradually the fog began to clear away a little more ahead of them, revealing the sight of a phantasmal, ghastly figure shrouded in dark mist that swirled around its otherwise mostly hidden form. Just beyond the figure itself was a large set of stairs made of stone. Yeah… that definitely looked like the way they had to go if she’d ever seen one… and yet, it seemed that they would have to defeat this thing that stood in front of it in order to be able to pass through. Seeming to sense their presence, the night black fog around the figure flared outwards erratically as a low, disquieting thrumming sound that could be interpreted as a growl emanated from it. Piper tittered nervously in return as she bent down into a position in preparation to pounce, reluctantly readying herself for a fight as she saw the sparks flashing from Radium’s cheeks while the Pichu hugged her stick tightly. As anxious as she felt about having to fight this thing, it seemed the only way to proceed forth from here was to defeat it… At the very least, however, she wouldn’t have to fight it alone...】☆ ☆

A new place… Mystery Dungeon Mogwai spies a new friend! Daphnes
☆ ☆【Mogwai smiled and nodded eagerly as Daphnes agreed with his statement to include Temperance as well to their growing list of those who needed to be protected from this Darkrai. The Bewear couldn’t help but wonder what this ‘Temperance’ was like, as the Bagon hadn’t exactly given any details concerning his relationship with his trainer. Were they a nice person like Aiden was? What did Daphnes think of them? Did they get along relatively well together or were they sometimes at odds with each other about certain things? So many questions! But Mogwai felt it was probably better to ask about such things at a later time, a bit more focused on the knight talk at the moment as he listened to the Bagon’s words and parsed out their meaning in his head.
At the sword and shield analogy, Mogwai felt like he could understand it for the most part. A shield was important in order to prevent the enemy from inflicting harm upon you, while the sword was necessary to be able to strike back and defeat them. The Bewear felt that he certainly fit the description of a shield better, his thick fur helped him to absorb damage and made it difficult for him to really be harmed. However, he had learned the hard way that fire based attacks were more or less the only thing capable of penetrating his otherwise impregnable defense, and when exposed to flames it hurt far more than anything else that had attempted to harm him… The men in black that had imprisoned him had exploited that same weakness against him time and time again in order to make him more compliant to their commands, and the Bewear had learned to truly fear fire and what it was capable of…
Daphnes agreed with the notion of him being a shield, and said that Mogwai could possibly be a good sword as well. For now, however, he suggested that the Bewear could be the shield to his sword, and that they would protect the Pokemon of this dream world together. ”Moooogwaaaaaiii beeeee beeeeest shiiiieeeeeld!” he exclaimed happily, clapping his paws together in delight. After all, his ability to shield others from being harmed while being able to resist being harmed himself was one of his best traits. But still, perhaps Daphnes could show him more of what it meant to be a good sword, he certainly knew much more about this whole knighting business than the Bewear himself did. Although, speaking of Pokemon… Mogwai couldn’t help noticing how strangely… quiet it had been the entire time they had been walking, save for their own conversations and bits and pieces of talking from other groups around them. The forest around them stood deafeningly silent… no sounds of birdsong, footsteps, swaying leaves, or any other sounds that would indicate signs of life… and it made Mogwai all the more uneasy as he thought more on it. If there were meant to be Pokemon in this dream world, then where were they? Had they all run away after this Darkrai arrived and took over the place? Or… did Darkrai maybe capture them and have them all locked up in some kind of hidden evil fortress? He wondered what Daphnes thought about this… or if his partner had even noticed the apparent lack of any other noises that would indicate that the inhabitants of this world were even present in this place.
The further along they walked, the more unsettled the Bewear became as he glanced about nervously. The atmosphere began to change around them, the tension becoming thick and cloying the closer they got to whatever was waiting for them in the distance. Moreover, he could hear what sounded like low whispers coming from somewhere in the fog ahead of them, murmuring something indecipherable that sounded almost like a disturbing incantation of some kind… Daphnes confirmed Mogwai’s suspicions as he mentioned that he could hear them too, and advised them to be cautious as a good knight didn’t run into a fight head first. ”Moooogwaaaaaiii beeee caaaaarefuuuuul,” the Bewear agreed, feeling his fur standing on end as he anxiously proceeded forward with his partner. He wasn’t certain of what to expect as they got closer and closer towards the source of the whispers, though he noticed how even the scenery around them shifted as they approached. The soft grass became much rougher under his feet as it gave way to a mossy stone path, and on principal the Bewear ducked down slightly as to not accidentally bang his head against the stony archway that appeared to be an entrance of some kind. Bit by bit the fog cleared away in front of them, revealing what seemed to be a formless mass of swirling inky shadows that stood in front of an enormous set of stone stairs just behind it. It was hard to really make out what it was from within the thick black smog that cloaked its otherwise hidden form underneath, but something about it set Mogwai on extreme edge as he stared hard at the shadowy form, paws balling into fists as flashes of memory came back to him in an instant. Black… Black like the dark uniforms of the men who had taken him away and subjected him to such terrible treatment… Black meant bad… which had to meant that this thing, whatever it was, was bad as well based on that logic, right?
Still, Mogwai held himself back as Daphnes cautious words echoed in his mind, a good knight doesn’t run into battle head first, after all… ”Daaaarkraaaaaaiiii?” he inquired with a mix of nervousness and curiosity as he glanced towards the Bagon and pointed a paw at the shadowy figure. He wasn’t sure if that was actually this Darkrai being that they had to fight or not, having only a name and no sort of description to go off of… It could potentially be an enemy warrior, sent to prevent them from actually reaching Darkrai themselves by blocking their path forward. Either way, the Bewear hung back, glowering at the strange-looking creature to try and assess it before jumping into a possible fight. It didn’t look like there was any way to go around it to reach the stairs behind it, however… ”Daaaaaphneeeees,” he spoke up, casting a sideways glance towards his dragon partner, ”Whaaaat saaaayyyy weeeee dooooo?” From the looks of it, they would have to defeat this thing in order to be able to pass through and continue, but as Daphnes said they shouldn’t just jump into a fight right away. Perhaps they should try to come up with some sort of plan to take it on?】☆ ☆

☆ ☆【Fianna chuckled softly under her breath as Xiao Lan made a face at her suggestion that she’d know more about mating and all that when she was older. It was a pretty reasonable reaction, considering she was still very much a child and didn’t understand much of the topic in general. However, she brightened up as the Braixen mentioned that she could have lullabies sung to her every night. It was probably about time to drop the subject anyways, at least before it go too out of hand and went into territory that probably wasn’t suited for a young child like Xiao Lan to hear.
The fox smiled warmly as Daiki’s mood appeared to be improving with the encouragement from the cute little Noibat and the Braixen and Beltigre letting up with their teasing comments at him, giving a light laugh as he bashfully looked away at her compliments and thanked her. ”Oh?” she inquired curiously as he mentioned that Dakota had taught him when he’d first been found, ”Dakota is your trainer, I assume? What’s he like?” She was quite curious to know about who all these Pokemon belonged to, after all Pokemon often tended to be an extension of their trainer’s personalities in some way or form. That, or they were very much different from their trainers and would sometimes conflict with them but still remained relatively loyal to them. Or, in some cases, they absolutely hated their trainers but were stuck with them for some reason or another… Fianna certainly hoped it wasn’t anything like that.
As Xiao Lan encouraged their group to partake in ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, the Braixen was glad to sing her part as well in her breathy, melodic voice. However, it seemed Shade wasn’t interested in joining in, though the Chengshen seemed quite happy enough to just enjoy the music. ”Not much of a singer, huh, Shade?” she asked rhetorically, shrugging nonchalantly, ”That’s fine, guess that means it’s Bel’s turn to sing the next line then, yeah?” Speaking of Beltigre, it seemed Shade was preoccupied with speaking with their leader about mating rituals, much to the Torracat’s embarrassment. Given how Shade seemed to be calm and expressionless most of the time, it was a bit hard to tell if they were intentionally trying to fluster her or not. Fianna’s ears flicked as Daiki chipped in, admitting to Beltigre being the leader but he was in full support of the name ‘Team Fluff’. ”Looks like that’s three against one for Team Fluff, Bel,” the Braixen said with a grin as she looked towards the cat, ”Then again, you’re the leader so I guess what we’re called as a collective is entirely up to you.” Of course, even if Beltigre chose to just veto their votes and declare their group as ‘Team Beltigre’, Fianna was still going to just call it ‘Team Fluff’ because she preferred that name, and to perhaps mess with the Torracat as an added bonus.
By chance and perhaps impulse considering that she was easily the youngest of the group, Xiao Lan showed that the dream world around them could be changed in small ways as she summoned bubbles out of the ether much to the surprise of the rest of the group. Even Beltigre seemed quite impressed, and attempted to conjure up an exit for them which didn’t exactly work out as intended. Fianna nodded in agreement as Xiao Lan suggested that perhaps ‘Darkie’ was blocking the exit, and that nightmares were difficult to escape from when one was dreaming. ”Most likely, I doubt Darkrai would let us leave so easily now that he has taken over this dream world we’re in,” she said, giving a smile to the little Noibat, ”In that case, we’ll have to find Darkrai and teach him a lesson to be nice and let us go back to our trainers. Think you’ll be up for that, Xiao Lan?” Of course, that would mean having to actually fight Darkrai and whatever tried to prevent them from getting to him… Fianna wasn’t sure if Xiao Lan would be able to hold her own if it came down to them having to engage in combat, then again, she shouldn’t be so quick to underestimate even a youngling like her.
Deciding to follow along with the little bat’s example, the Braixen flexed her imagination and conjured up a stream of bright, colorful lights to help guide them along. That way she didn’t have to worry about constantly carrying her flaming stick around, though even as she put it away she felt that she’d need it once more for whenever something dangerous might jump out at them from the fog. She chuckled as Xiao Lan admired the lights, some of which ended up being absorbed by the bubbles and floating away towards the skies, as she demanded them to dream up more things. Shade, on the other hand, seemed a bit off put by all the things they were dreaming into the world around them, suggesting that they should keep pushing onwards. ”I suppose so, I imagine we’ll find at least something in this fog soon enough,” Fianna said with a nod, glancing over towards Daiki as he dreamed up the sounds of birds chirping in the trees around them. Of course, given what she’d seen of his nature that could’ve easily gone a different way, but she certainly appreciated him keeping it tame for the sake of the child in their group. ”You know… I never noticed how strangely dead it seems around here until now, like there’s almost nothing else here besides us and all the other Pokemon who were brought here,” she said, speaking mostly to herself, flicking her ears about and listening attentively past the birdsong to try and pick up any noises from the trees beyond. She was certainly no Noivern, though she couldn’t pick up on much of anything coming from the area around them aside from talking from other groups. ”I’m not sure if your hearing is any keener than mine, but have you heard anything particularly strange around here, Daiki?” she asked, casting an inquiring glance towards him. Surely if there was anything suspicious going on, if there was perhaps something dangerous stalking them while staying hidden in the mists, they would’ve picked up on at least something by now.】☆ ☆

I promise everything will be okay, okay? Trust me.” She gently gave the little weed and nuzzle with her head before eventually turning her attention over to Yuki once again. ”Huh? A voice? Hmm…” She tried to think back to when she was asleep. A voice… Had she heard a voice in her sleep? Maybe! But the Mudkip couldn’t really remember. The only thing she could honestly recall was reaching Oldale Town and Scott’s voice and face before she was sent back into her pokeball, but that was about it. ”Hmmm, I don’t think so. But you were awake before me so maybe there was a voice! It couldn’t hurt to at least look around, ya know? It would really be bad for us to ignore a pokemon in need! Or a trainer, especially since it could be one of ours!” Yuki seemed to take the lead of their small little group and that was a-okay with Peaches! She didn’t mind following after the Gekkit. Besides, weren’t the strongest pokemon always at the end of the pack so they could make sure no one lagged behind and protect all of them? If that was the case, she was ready to defend her friends!

The peace didn't last long. Argo returned, and after a tussle for whatever object he had found, was screeching and cursing at Rafflesia. Even though it was probably honestly better for someone else to hold onto the strange item for now. For one, the ivysaur didn't have to eat it to keep it safe. Rafflesia was quick to silence the bird with one of her vines, but... Well, odds were the damage was already done. Both the ivysaur and the giant lizard the group was riding had noticed something from up ahead, sounds and something else. The fog cleared to show some sort of arch in the middle of the path, and through it lay... A room? Although the pat on the head helped calm Luna a little bit, the eevee was still on edge.

Samson didn't take heed of Ammy's question, too locked on what could lie ahead. But, he as a very big disadvantage. He didn't have a lay of the land, nor any concept of what could be skulking about. Another Pokemon, he'd be able to handle. But if it was this Darkrai...well, he wasn't as spry as he used to be. But, Samson didn't let that stop him from holding the line as the group of them marched forward.

Beltigre was impressed by Fianna's display of lights, though she didn't try to show it, opting for a simple, "Hey, not too shabby, Fi." All in all, she was felling pretty confident about the whole thing, so there was no reason to belittle anybody for the time being. After her little incident in that old haunted house, the Torracat decided to try and take it a little easier. A little. So, when Fianna announced that the team vote was to call the gang Team Fluff, Beltigre only smirked and chuckled under her breath. "Tell ya what, you fluffballs can call it that if you wanna, but when we find this Darkai jerk, you better rep Team Beltigre a hundred percent, got it?"
As the topic drifted to what this Darkrai thing was doing, Beltigre mulled it over. 'I guess it make sense that we can't do everything we want," she remarked. "It's its house, after all. But, when we find 'em, we'll teach 'em a lesson or two, right?" She was sure some of them would be handy in a fight, or at the very least not get in the way. 'But, if you guys get too nervous, I'll just take 'em out, no problem."
Though, as she kept moving forward, she had a feeling that something was off. Not just the bubbles and the chirping bird sounds, but just sort of like the feeling one has right before walking into a fight.

At Gail's question, Daemon only gave a nod towards the eevee. Of course he had noticed something, it was why he was being so quiet. The houndoom guessed that Samson hadn't given more than a grunt lately for a similar reason. Unfortunately, Ammy seemed to miss the mood, and the lupup excitedly exclaimed something before hurrying ahead. A low growl quietly rumbled from Daemon's throat as the houndoom tried to catch the pup before she got too far ahead. "Shh!" the dark type tried to hush before keeping his voice quiet. "Whatever is up ahead, it does not smell like food," he quietly warned the white pup before letting her be again and joining Samson up front. He might not have been quite as big as the arcanine, but he was still a fearsome sight.

Ulani held a paw to her mouth, stifling a giggle as Prim all but spun about in a complete circle in response to her inquiry. It seemed the pretty flower hadn’t noticed the lack of life besides themselves. It was funny and she did the same, though nearly fell over in the process. She wasn’t nearly as graceful.
"Oh!" That was so weird! The Emogla rubbed her chin in thought, gaze still trying to peer past the forests and fog as though the missing pokemon would suddenly burst from the blue. When they didn’t she shrugged and through her hands in the air once more with a grin. "That’s okay! I’m sure there somewhere and we’ll find them and share the berries with them too!" They would need so many berries at this rate. Immediately Ulani picked up her pace running further down the path and closer to the clearing. "C’mon pretty flower! We have to find all the berries!"

Prim mimed a giggle, her shoulders shaking gently, when Ulani tripped trying to copy her; maybe it was a good thing that they were the only ones around, or at least from what she could tell. Although it wasn't the most pleasant thought, the flower couldn't help but to imagine that there were enemies lurking about, just out of sight, waiting to strike.
So! The best thing to do in response was charge ahead! Or, at least keep moving forward. Prim nodded her head in agreement, they'd try and find berries for all the pokemon! Or, most of them... at least the ones that they came across. She zipped after Ulani, unwilling to lose her to the fog as well. Surely, Darkrai wasn't the only pokemon they had to keep an eye on, so getting split up now wasn't in either of their best interest. Besides, Prim rather liked having Ulani around.

Noah was caught off guard by the garish screeching that Argo gave when Rafflesia stole his found goods, hands immediately flying over his ears in annoyance. "Ah! Realleh bird brain?!" He growled in annoyance. This was probably why his trainer didn’t have any birds on the team, they were just too damn noisey.
He scoffed a bit at Allure’s comeback, cheeks going red. What kind of rubbish was that?! He was about to spout some terse words in response to it too when she directed their attention to something lurking in the mists, squinting again and making out the faint shapes of… what? Buildings sort of? A room? He couldn’t tell. Nor could he quite see what anyone was talking about. "Huh? Wazzat sheila?"

Argo continued to squawk indignantly until Raf managed to wrap a vine around his beak, muffling him. He flapped his wings hard, trying to break free. He was finally released after the Ivysaur used the vine to instead point to the fog ahead. Out of spite and anger, the Wingull chomped his beak down on the vine before diving out of reach and out into the fog. While out of sight of the others, they could still hear a low, angry chattering here and there.

The general consensus seemed to be keep moving, which Vivace was all for! But, considering she was riding on Ai's back, she wasn't actually the one who was moving. Instead she focused her attention ahead, squinting hard in her attempt to try and see what was ahead. The mist was making it difficult, but slowly it was starting to think, and as the wisps started to fade a way a figure became clearer. Vivace hummed, the dark aura exuding from it especially obvious to her. She made a face, and just barely kept herself from turning her nose up at it, before delicately sliding off of Ai's back. She patted herself down, puffed out her chest, the waddled up to join Radium. "Let's get this over, it won't take long!"

Cling blinked a few times as Dice insisted on glowing. Hmm. Static rolled around him a bit, but... honestly, he just wasn't even really strong enough to do much with electricity. It was honestly kind of embarrassing, especially when the young pokemon began boasting quite a bit of battle experience of his own. Ah... was this small cubone stronger than him? That would be rather shameful, though Cling could probably take it in stride. After all, he wasn't much of a battle sort, and for all his pranks and acts of attempted justice, he'd never really had opportunity to actually get much stronger.
Trying not to blush (not that it would show too much on his dark exterior, hopefully), Cling let his strip of light continue pulsing with light, and slithered on ahead while listening to Dice. "Haaahaa... a lot then, huh?" he remarked through somewhat nervous laughter. He glanced back at the question. "Ah... no, not so much. I've never really... done a proper battle." Certainly none he would consider anywhere close to having won, at least.
