Having been keeping her guard up, she was still a little sore from the stinging that might become bruises later. "That was a cheap shot," Diana thought, visibly annoyed though the expression would smooth to a calm gaze as she took her defensive stance. She had not missed the Moth's slight of hand, though she could not exactly see what he had thrown at the human. Her amethyst gaze would fall upon her opponent, while Zach and Oswald seemed to go back to hitting one another again; the dark-haired leader covered by fog. "Great, now it's just me and the Moth again," The petite young faunus thought with a bit of unease. Much as the rumors told her from the elders...it would be humiliation to fall to their enemy.

As her sparring partner took a step left, she would gracefully move right, her sword still held in defensive position as she met his eyes calmly as their dance continued. If one were to count steps in their little dance-walk, they would notice that by the fifth step, her blade would advance with the intention of a cut to his left side. This move proved to be far too eager; as she found him parrying and closing the distance between them, she would be forced to disengage with the caress of their blades...

It was the surprise attack that put her in a...sticky situation.
"What the?!" The butterfly thought in utter shock as the vulgar Moth shot something from his mouth. Sticky silk!?! The attack was good; since it was at such a close range, it hit enough that it pushed Diana off balance enough to fall; if she hadn't had turned to land on her side, she would've landed upon her wings. "Ewww," the butterfly wrinkled her nose in distaste. In testing the restraint, she would find her arms stuck to her sides, making her huff in annoyance. "Cheap shot!" Clearly displeased, the butterfly female would struggle, testing her wings once more; this was inconvenient. Thinking quickly, if the moth attempted to attack, she would wait until he was three steps away to fly and dodge, if not, she would stand back up then fly...

The moth kept his guard and executed his plan, albeit sooner than he had planned too. The butterfly had gone for a pre-emptive strike against him, to end their dance early and try to control the flow of combat. However, it only meant she had fallen for his plan. Blocking her side ward attack with his katana to parry it, he would step forward to close the distance between the two of them. Before she could fully disengage or counter it, he had launched the silk from his mouth that he had been planning too. It was net shaped, but launched with significant force, and hit the butterfly dead on. Even doing more than he expected and knocking the butterfly down to the ground! While normally serious and angry, the moth couldn't help but smile slightly as he watched his tribes mortal enemy fall before him to his silk. It was pure satisfaction for him, especially as she seemed grossed out by his silk. He saw how it was pinned her arms to her side, though regrettably had left her wings free. 'No matter.' He thought to himself silently, seeing the butterfly dealt with as she tugged at her bonds to try and free herself to seemingly no avail. Guard up, he would risk a glance back to the other and only saw a cloud of smoke there. And the sound of a lot of gunfire, seeing a few errant shots coming out but thankfully not towards them for the moment. His eyes would turn back to the butterfly, debating on what to do with her.

'No one is around to see if I chose to finish her. But if I did so, it would mean I may not be able to complete my mission.' He thought silently to himself, debating as he had his katana pointed towards her front side. "Concede butterfly, you have lost." He would say simply to her while standing over her. He felt he did not need to say that he would spare her life. And as of right now, he wanted to get back at Z for firing at him earlier. But in the shroud of smoke they were in, with O there as well, it would prove more of a risk than anything else to do so. He could hardly protect himself in there with any certainty. And the matter of the butterfly, while she seemed detained, he would rather not have her coming unexpectedly for him when she eventually freed himself. Though perhaps he was overestimating her abilities in that regard.

Zachariah de La Vallière

Within the cloud of ink black smoke Zachariah was preparing for a counter strike. His gunsword Freyr was out of shotgun shells, calling for the weapon to be switched into its shield mode. As seconds passed the young leader began noticing a swirl like movement to his smoke cloud which was starting to thin out the cloud. If it continued then Zach would be visible and opened to attacks, promoting the little knight to act. With shield held firmly, and Freyja as its rifle form in his other hand, Zachariah closed his eyes and steadied his breathing. His aura build up within himself, his muscles tensing as power flow through the body, and once he felt in sync with his aura Zachariah let his steal gray eyes pierce sharply at the battle scene laid out before him.

Zachariah's semblance had been activated.

The dark cloud had been slightly lifted when Zachariah noticed the gleam of a sharp katana pointing to a bound butterfly's side, and with the young knight having kept quiet he was somewhat able to get an idea of which direction Oswald was rushing around his still body. An aura of solid white formed around Zach's shield, engulfing it like a lit fire as the aura extended its coverage and empowered the raw toughness of the shield to oncoming force of all kind. New found strength surges through Zachariah as he charges forth, punching through the dark smoke to challenge Oswald. "If it's a fight you want then I'll fight you head-on!"

Zachariah would attempt to gain an initial surprise bash against Oswald as he burst out the smoke cloud before digging his heels and then block forward against Oswald's charge. If the bash fails Zach would still try blocking against Oswald, trying to hold him off like two rams in contest while he thought of what to do next.

With his other hand holding onto Freyja the young knight's intention was to use this as a follow-up attack against Oswald, but with having seen Diana in trouble Zachariah's instincts were to aid his comrade instead.

Aura flowed from Zachariah off towards his rifled weapon, a white glow of his wish gathering into the barrel of the gun, and as he pulled the trigger bullets began flying off at Miserorum. The aura empowered rifle shoots fast, harder and with a much better bullet grouping than before. Zach's aim was to hit the katana away from Diana and then move the blaze of bullets more against Miserorum in an attempt to force him away and give the butterfly space to recover. Should it fail however would be up to chance, and how everyone reacted to the changing situation.

                                                    Oswald has been having mixed feelings about this sparring match. He is astatic to use his fists. Able to use them in a fight against his opponents always been delightful. But he never liked to fight someone that uses guns. Not because it's a disadvantage, but only because he loves the fighting of an infight; the range is just boring and uninteresting. To be at a 'safe' distance can't be considered a fight.

                                                    THEN Zach went out of his smoke to rush a surprise bash against Oswald. Something like this isn't a surprise at all. Especially all this adrenaline. "Bring it!" He put both his arms up and unleashed a double hammer fist against Zach's shield charge. After his double fists made contact you could here a BANG that could be heard. "I'm on my ninth hit combo, Z. How is your arm holding?"

Silently, the butterfly was thankful for her aura to still be very much in tact upon impact of the ground. Though mostly focused on her wings, the young woman kept it around the rest of her body as well. "Great, the moth is getting cocky," Diana thought, she would've chuckled if it wasn't herself. She could not deny that she was impressed by the attack though. As he stood over her petite form, her amethyst gaze would glare up at him. "I will never concede!" Her eyes clearly spoke her thoughts.

Before Diana or even Miserorum could proceed, the moth's blade by bullets, some hitting her opponent as well. Again, she was thankful for aura at that time as her glare turned to a look concern.
"What the hell is going on?!" The young woman thought as her attacker retreated into a...cloak cocoon?! Slightly awesome...but, she couldn't think about that right now as the rain of bullets fired, she would roll away before kicking off into the air. Her proverbial feathers ruffled as she was not accustomed to being "rescued". Glaring down at the young human males, from the ten-foot aerial view, she would be able to make out their persons. Making her decision, she flew the same way they had met...dive-bombing the unsuspecting human for his indignant actions.

Her feet would be planted on Zach's back at this moment before she would fly off after the Moth. Though...their battle would be coming to a halt when she heard the voices of others entering the Arena. One calling out that their time was up. Sulking a little, she would land calmly to the ground (halfway between the humans and the moth), the web still binding her. Looking back to O and Z, she would then sigh.
"Give us a minute," the butterfly told the new arrivals before smiling slightly.

"Well, that was fun!" She thought, despite everything. Once fire ceased and all was calm, she would walk over in order to collect her sword and sheath it (with some difficulty). Leaving only when the other three do...

As Misery stood over the butterfly, confident in his own victory against the creature, he would await her answer. Whether she surrendered or not he felt sure he had bested her; this being the second time he had her on the back step, at a disadvantage, though now it was even more clear he had bested her. 'No butterfly can best a moth.' He thought to himself silently. And as such, he was not able to react in time when Z's aura augmented bullets came flying in. His katana was shot out of his grasp, not having expected such a force to come to it so quickly. He could only half turn as the bullets came to him, holding his cloak up as his aura was taking heavy hits from the gunfire and he was being pushed back slightly. Thinking quickly, he would reach to his side and grab a dust vial; just a small one. Holding his arm with cloak in front of him as a pseudo shield, he would pour a vial into the cloak. A vial of earth dust. Quickly, he would crouch down and wrap the cloak around him as it formed a hardened cocoon. The bullets now impacting the earth dust-hardened plates and bouncing off. 'Damn it Z.' He thought to himself angrily as he was safe from the gunfire for now, but blind to the world around him. He had had the butterfly at his mercy only for it to be snatched by him again. Every time he gained an edge, it seemed her body guard would intervene. For a supposed free-for-all, this seemed a lot more like he was up against both at once as not even O could distract Z enough to stop him.

However, the gunfire would stop...and all sounds of fighting as well in little time at all. Unsure, the moth would wait a few moments longer listening..before getting out of the cloak. He would see the team had stopped fighting as others were coming in, hearing mention that their time was up. The moth could only scowl as he was unsure what was worse; having the fight interrupted before he could best the other two or that he kept being denied. The moth would storm over to his katana, ignoring the others, and leave the arena on his own. Needing time to cool off after such a match.

                                                          out. of. control.[From this post, we'll be waiting a few days to see who all is actually showing up for class, where the further details of what we will be doing will be unveiled in the next post.]

                                                          XXXWell, there the crimson-haired goliath stood. In the center of the metal-plated arena, in the center ring where the changing dust arenas wouldn't reach. Of course, right now the arena was rather boring in design. It looked like nothing more than a normal fighting ring, just supersized. What was even more surprising was that Rachel was just standing there, leaning against her anchor. Taped to the side of it was a sign, though upside down and impossible to read for that reason. Jeez... She couldn't believe it, it was class time again already. Honestly, Rachel wasn't prepared, in the slightest. Even with student aids willing to help her, a meeting with the counselor that she dipped out of, and the headmistresses instructions on what they should focus on. She just couldn't get her head on straight. Her brain was still buzzing from when she quite literally lost her mind a few months ago, and most teaching works were put on hold for the foreseeable future. That being until today. Sure, she had some white-haired girl get the rundown from the grimm studies teacher of where to find specific grimm. Grimm that may or may not have actually been located and were waiting to be used before they died in isolation, but... Man, it just didn't feel like the right sequence to use today. Notably, sounds could be heard beneath the armored plates of the arena. .. It was movement, for sure. Grunts growls... Maybe even talking? Was that possible? Did Rachel trap grimm under the arena, or was it something else?

                                                          So... Rachel would wait. In fact, she stood there for an absurd amount of time. .. Only realizing an hour in that she may have shown up to the arena early, but, .. Well, that didn't really matter anymore. By the time the first student showed up, it gave her enough time to realise the sign that was taped to her anchor was upsidedown. "Oh, f**king..." With a groan, she ripped the sign off, then stabbed it through the top of the handle. This time, despite the giant hole in it, it was legible. On it, it said. "WEAPONS HERE." With an arrow pointing down, at her feet. This was a call back to her first class of the year, where she surprisingly confiscated all the student's weapons. But, for once she wasn't feeling the flourish and decided to just make it simple. "Aight, aight. As the rest of the twerps show up, I want you all to pop a squat right here in the center. Drop your weapons, too. Ain't gonna need that s**t under my roof. ... Hole... Look, I ain't an architect. Go see Vick's for that." While not quite as loud, she was still just as obnoxious and brash as ever. She also found herself tripped up by the fact that the arena technically didn't have a roof, aside from a fickle barrier that she had crashed a Nevermore through in a prior class. ... Man, that class was a riot. Maybe she should unleash a horde of grimm on the kiddos.. "Look. I'm use to kids droppin' the class, so I ain't expectin' much. While we're waitin', what's your favorite kind of dust?" Rachel asked dully, letting out a loud yawn afterward as she leaned against her anchor. Rachel being so quiet and direct was... Odd. In fact, it was unheard of. And her question didn't really make much sense either. And now she'd simply wait for the turnout.

        Ivory rubbed his eyes. He was finally back in his bunk. He had arrived back at beacon after running away in the wild from the Crimson Fang. If he was was exiled by his family before, he was going to be hunted. In fact, he was, but Kha and an other Crimson Fang member. However, after 3 months, he made it back. He would look towards Jessica's empty bed. Where was she?

        He would finally get out of his hammock. Even when he was gone they didn't change his side of the bed. He would walk to the bathroom, and get into the shower. The warm water felt so much better than the quick baths he had to take in the rivers. Running was not fun. He had even found out that if he grew out his beard, he would have the same spots in it. While in the shower, he would slip down the side. The horrible things he had to say to save the humans. Could his team forgive him? He'd pull on the chains attached to his ears. How much trouble had it gotten him into?

        He'd wash up, and get out of the shower. He'd stare at himself in the mirror. His skin was slightly tanned from all the sun, the whites in his hair were brighter. A lower pitched sigh would leave his mouth. His voice got deeper as well. He wasn't sure how to feel about it. It was whatever, maybe people would see him as a male this time.

        He'd come out of the bathroom, and he would go behind his partition and drop his towel. If anyone went inside, nothing would be hidden from them. He'd get dressed in his school uniform. The arms came a little short of the uniform, along with his legs. He must have grown too. He'd have to get a new uniform.

        He'd then grab his sword, and his pack. One thing he learned on the road was being prepared was important. You didn't know where your next meal would come from. In his bag, he had some dried rations, some rope, and other survival tools. He'd put his sword on his left side. At least he had that still.

        He would arrive at the area, and the first thing he would see what a weapons sign. Great, he had to drop off his weapons first. He would take off his sword and place it in the pile. He'd then show the teacher his right hand. "This has retractable claws, but I'd like to keep it, as it's also my hand, is that alright?" If he wasn't, then he would take off the hand, and put it in the pile. The teacher would ask their favorite kind of dust. "Mine's tied between earth and steam personally." Steam could be used as a cover, but earth was so much fun to throw at people.

    Feralis awoke with a groggy yawn, the events of the day prior having been a bit tiring. The return of Beta, a day at some placed called a spa, having to let Beta know what happened to Jessica, and just an all around tiring day with reunions/ catching up. It was a...strange thing. While normally he hated Beta, he had respected him a bit more after their mission and what had occurred. How much he wasn't even sure. But with MAIN's leader loss, it had reminded him a bit of the past and some unpleasant memories. 'If I am going to be here for a while...' He began to think but couldn't finish the thought. Nothing would replace Mako for him but...it didn't mean he couldn't work with another team. Though...with Princess and Beta it may not be as easy as that. Still...he was a bit more willing to try at least. As Beta took the shower, Feralis wouldn't bother and just begin to change into his usual outfit; usually sleeping with just underwear on anyway. And especially after the spa day the day before...he felt he wouldn't need a bath for a few days at least, depending. Shivering at the thought, and once attire was on, he would begin to get some of his weapons too; his axe, his vambrace and spiked boots, and bone. It proved useful last time so who knows. As far as he knew, they had picked combat class so he imagined he needed little else. He could always improvise if anything. Letting out a yawn, he would await Princess and Beta getting ready before leaving with them to class wordlessly; the usually vocal wolf staying silent for once. And with one question lingering in his mind that had been for a while; 'Who steps up to Alpha with Jessica gone?' He wondered silently, thinking of her by name because of her end. His own way of respecting the dead.

    Once they arrived at class though Feralis' disposition changed almost instantly; he recognized who the instructor was. "Long time no see Jaws." He would say, flashing a toothy grin to the teacher as he saw the sign of putting their weapons there and Beta beginning to. The wolf just shrugged; he remembered training by the shark often, and how weapons or other things were commonly removed to make them rely on themselves first and foremost. He would drop his axe; along with the vambrace and boosts. Taking the socks off with the boots as well as he didn't really care about being barefoot to train anyway. With that said and done, Jaws would begin to speak to everyone on taking a seat there and leaving their weapons at the spot. Seeming to forget the place they were at had no roof whatsoever for the time being at least; which was nice as the wolf enjoyed being under the sun. She would then go on to say how she was used to kids dropping class, so she wasn't expecting much, and asking what kind of dust they liked to use most. It was...a bit weird to see her so direct and not amping things up with her words. To Feralis who knew her well, or so he thought. He wondered what was on her mind but wouldn't press on it now. Instead, as Beta gave his answer, Feralis would respond in his usual style. "Gravity. Crush them with the weight of it or make my hits hurt all the more. What about you Jaws? Got any examples of fun ways you've used your favorite dust?" He would say, voice oddly...satisfied at talking of violence with an equally savage grin. And, of course, not being afraid to take charge and ask the teacher something in return. While MAKO had been trained by Jaws, and a violent training it was, respect for those above you was not something well engrained there. Outside of proving who was strongest and best to lead at the least. Which reminded him he still wanted to have a re-match against her from the last time they had trained together. He wanted to show her how much better he was now.

    Maokai was quite restless, his excitement was too big to sleep! It may be a bad thing especially when the class they are going to is the combat class but he couldn’t close his eyes for more than 30 minutes at a time. Tired yet full of excitement Maokai leaped out of bed and got ready for class, wearing his uniform and sprints out of the room an hour earlier, his team barely woke up and he already left but forgetting his elemental cards on his bed.
    Walking through the school towards the arena was… tough for the young faunus, he was still new to school and managed to burn the whole time he had extra in only finding the place. Breathing heavily from running around Maokai entered the arena and took a deep breath followed by a big toothy smile with a wave to all the people who were already in. did he know most of them? Of course not. Did he care? Same answer! He was here to enjoy and learn. Walking forward towards the students he noticed a sign saying “weapons here” which he simply glanced over, he didn’t have a weapon on him so it didn’t matter “hmm… favorite dust… I think it would be Ice dust. Keeping my opponent in place even just for a second is good enough for me” he answered to the teacher and took another look at her, something about the teacher was… familiar, he didn’t know her but something about her was too nostalgic in a very bad way.

                                                    • The woman would be awaken by her team getting ready for class. They were doing combat class. Something she, was okay with doing but was not really sure why they picked it as a first thing to do as a team. Still, she did not really care. It was something that was going to have to be done eventually. The toothey boy had went a whole hour early and was gone. As for Violet, she simply would awake 30 minutes before by the sound of Meg the Stallion blasting into her headphones. She had showed the night before in order to save time and have more time sleeping. Don't stop pop dat kat. MMmm Mm Just like that . mmm mmmm just like this. Mmmm mmm work it Bish she sung along in her head as she got ready. Combat meant weapons and she would finally reveal what her weapon was to the team? Putting on blackburn, the skin tight suit that had wire spools integrated. She would then put on her uniform. The weapon was concealed by the uniform, only having the legs of blackburn being shown but someone could easily consider it a type of tights. She did not worry about the others. If they made it to class or not was no concern to her. It was her minding her own business but deep down it was probably the subconscious dislike she had for faunus.

                                                      Making it to the class, she would end up hearing the question and some of the responses while she headed over to the sign. It was asking for their weapon to be handed over. ...I did not think this through she thought to herself as she wondered what could be done. She could excuse herself but.. did it truly matter? Looking at the others, she felt they probably was not paying attention and even if they were, she did not feel any type of shame when it came to her body. Remember something important, she would start to undress. First she started with the top half, letting the uniform drop to the floor as she peeled out the top part of black burn. There wouldn't be too much of a show, just the revealing of her skin and her black sports bra but considering people jogged in tops like these she figured it was not too obscene. As the top part of blackburn draped down, she would then unbutton her skirt but held it together so she could drape down and get herself out the remaining of blackburn. Once slipping out of black burn like a pair of pajama pants she would button her skirt back and place blackburn where the weapons were suppose to go.

                                                      Taking back her top, she started get back dressed in her uniform top while responding to the teacher. "Electricity dust. Sending a good shock to the system is the most savage way to fight. Besides, its utility I feel is unmatched when running fades! " She would respond gently but with a hint of spice. Looking around the class, her excitement for it was lowering due to all the faunus that were in there. Even her teacher was a faunus. This better be good. Already looking like its going to be a knock out drag out the way those people are already acting What did she mean by that?
                                                      It had no meaning. She was just being a prejudice p***k and didn't even know it.

      "Would you like some candy Noah?"
      "Remember that gives me a sore stomach Nova... "
      "BOOOOOOORING!!"

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      - - Nova Primrose & Noah - -
      For the first time in ages, Nova wasn't awake before Feralis, sitting above him ready for the forced good morning interaction she so loved. She was in the same room, but there had been a shift in her ever since the loss of her leader and her friend. Noah lay at the bottom of her bed, the little pup still sound asleep. Nova would open her eyes and lie in her bed, staring at the ceiling - paying attention to it for longer than anything she had stared at before, bar Feralis. She could hear her teammates getting ready around her, but she just didn't want to move today, "Jess..." she would think to herself, as she eventually dragged herself out of bed and got ready. Noah would stretch and get ready, standing outside beside Feralis as they waited for the others.
      Nova would come out of the room, no overexcitement, no jumping on Feralis, just regular behaviour.. how odd. Noah walked beside her, nudging her hand with his head every so often as she would then scratch it, a small smile appearing on her face - she was so grateful for her best friend. Nova knew that her team weren't on the best terms, Ivory had disappeared for months, Feralis couldn't seem to stand the pair of them breathing and Nova was considering her place. Noah could feel the thoughts racing through her mind and he would speak internally to Nova, "They're lucky to have you Nova... you would have given up your own life to save them.." "-Stop it.." she would add, looking at him "I don't know if I would have.." she would regretfully admit as she swallowed what felt like a stone down her throat. She would look to the ground as she followed her team, arriving at the agreed point she looked at the instructor and waved. It would appear that Feralis knew who she was, she would ask about that later, hoping he would open up more about his life.
      Nova would listen in silence as she held Noah in her arms, the pup sitting quite happily as he listened. She would place her weapons away and then stand ready, listening to the question and everyone's answers. "Ice Dust.." she would answer, not adding anything more to it. For the first time, Nova had nothing to say, the overexcited, crazy faunus was now a shell for now, maybe this was her way of grieving the loss of her leader and friend? Who knew.
      Rena had made a point to get a good high going before class started today. In all honesty, she might have just skipped it entirely today due to the nature of the subject. But, for some reason, she was now a team Captain. Wouldn't do to just bail on a class her team had to attend now. She entered the designated place listed in the class assignment to see a few others had arrived and the teacher looking utterly bored out of her mind, flippantly asking them their favorite dust while holding a sign indicating to drop off weapons. She stepped up and deposited the claw gauntlets she had with her. "I also have blades built into my boots, but, I currently have them set to locked. Is that alright? I kinda have to cover up what I realistically can due to my semblance."
      A quick glance would show that she had indeed covered most of her body. Unlike most of the girls, she was wearing the boys' uniform and had on a pair of white gloves. She would wait and, if told it was fine, she'd just head back towards the students, if not, she'd reluctantly remove her boots before doing so. She honestly wasn't excited about this class. She wasn't big on fighting herself. Hell, she planned nothing with a hunter license. If she earned it, it'd just wind up in a drawer somewhere and never see light again. The only class she really had any interest in was Aura and that had filled up already.
                                                              XXXEyes immediately fell on a feline faunus who appeared to approach rather reluctantly. Clearly, the sign asking for the removal of all weapons didn't sit well for some reason. Cyan hues eyed the feline faunus, who explained in detail what the mechanical hand was capable of... Frankly, it wasn't the first time she had come across someone with a disability, it definitely wouldn't be the last... But, if she was a grim, would she care? "Grimm won't give a damn if you don't have a hand. I lost use of both of mine in the cavern and still killed a deathstalker. Take if off." That was that. Her memory was hazy, that was for sure. She definitely remembered both freezing and burning alive, while swinging her arms around like ragdolls. If Ivory paid close attention, he'd see the drape like sleeves shift as she raised her arm, detailed with an array of shred-like scars, as if she was mauled. On her right shoulder, as well as trailing up her neck, were vein-like burns that stretched from the center of her shoulder. They had faded drastically by now, but some semblance of her mark was still there. ... more of a reminder for her failure and weakness, than a battle wound she could be proud of. As he went into further detail, she'd notably nod at him, almost dismissively as she pulled out some doodad the counselor had sent her and pressed a button.
                                                              Rachel's almost moody demeanor seemed to shift instantly at the sight of a familiar face, and a most annoying voice call her a nickname she hadn't heard in so long. Without missing a beat, her back straightened as she stood tall, as if trying to huff herself to be even larger than she already was. Her pose had immediately become intimidating, rather than a reluctant teacher that was throwing out babble. Her expression stern, her cyan hues narrowed as she gave a toothy frown towards the wolf... One that immediately turned into the biggest, almost terrifying shark grin anyone had ever seen. "I'll be damned, never expected to see this pup again. I thought I heard fluffy and veggie-in-a-can talkin' about you. Guess I didn't have to drag your a** back to Beacon like her after all." Rachel wasn't usually one with words, but Feralis was different. Just like all of MAKO, and that bangle-tiger girl, they were special in their own right. Rachel could talk to them as equals, all while throwing a pile of s**t their way. There was something about having an old student of hers that reinvigorated her, gave her just a breath of new life for the class. Her smirked widened at Feralis' mention of gravity dust, tapping a key on the device as well as she nodded. "Sounds right on the money for someone with heavy paws like you." She said, almost smug, before thinking herself. What dust did she favor? ... Well, there was one that was most effective in her terms, when used right. "Electric. Just a crystal stabbed in the right spot, and you can wrestle a manticore down with your bare hands. How do you think I wrangled the grimm for the last class? Sides... As you're wrangling, you electrocute the living s**t out of 'em too." Oh man, that class was a riot. .. Not like this one. This one felt forced, targeting a particular subject because a few bad apples just weren't capable of managing their aura.
                                                              One by one, students kept falling in. The next one came literally sprinting into class, huffing and heaving as if he had never sprinted a day in his life. Then again, getting to the arena wasn't necessarily easy. Once he caught second wind, he flashed an oddly familiar toothy smile, but for a reason she couldn't quite place her finger on. This one, he was Maokai? "You can say that again. Never been one myself, but I had some used on me. Lemme tell you, it ain't fun being a popsicle." Again, another quick reference to the most recent mission based around academy operations. She';d leave out the finer details of why ice dust was used on her, but now the thought of that chill... Well, chilled her to her core. She'd press a button in response to his answer.
                                                              Another student came in, though almost seemed as if she was making a scene herself with whatever she was doing undressing in the middle of the room. Then again, nothing was really shown. So... Was Rachel suppose to make a point about it? ... Nah. They didn't pay her enough for that. Did they even pay her at all? Must've been her weapon, whatever it was. At least she had a halfway interesting response, even if Rachel only understood half of what she said. The student managed to get an amused, toothy grin out of Rachel. "Now that's what I'm talkin' about! A zap and a smack, leadin' to a good snack." ... Wait. They weren't supposed to be eating each other, that's right. ... Damn that machine who made her take a bite, and damn the man who controlled it. With the mention of electricity dust, she'd tap another button on the device.
                                                              Another faunus came to join the fray, following behind Feralis and stayed close to him. ... Oh snap, was this his new team? The mutt went and replaced Kenna on her? Now that was just dirty. Whoever this feline faunus was, she held a little pup in her arms that seemed to pay more attention to her than the student themselves. Of all the responses she had received, hers was the most underwhelming. "Ice? That's it? .. Guess I didn't ask for a reason. And watch the dog! We already have one mutt around here to look after, makin' sure he doesn't tinkle anywhere." Without missing a beat, Rachel's eyes shot over towards Feralis with a s**t eating grin. Man, she missed that kid. ... Was he even a kid anymore? Whatever, she'd tap the device again, and turn her attention towards a familiar-looking rabbit. This was one student she actually knew about, only because some warnings had been plastered around about her semblance... It was like that rabbit's she had nearly eaten, except different. [goodjob rachel] Listening to her spiel, Rachel just shook her head, holding her hand up as if to indicate for her to stop. "Look. You think if I'm gonna make the three-legged cat take off his hand, you can keep your boots? I don't care, ditch'em. Bet whoever you hit will have a good time anyways, if you're anything like your brother, Mr. Hops." Waiting for the girl to take off her boots, she'd wait for a moment to see if she'd add on anything else. You know, like the one question Rachel had ask of the students. "Not a fan of dust, eh? Aight, mystery dust for you." She said plainly, tapping a key on the device. This was the first indicator for the students that there was more to her question than just preference.
                                                              Minutes ticked by as Rachel began looking around impatiently, before letting a heavy sigh out of her lips. This is what she expected, a bunch of no-shows. Oh well, this class was going to be a drag anyway. Tapping another key, the metal panels around the arena would begin to shift, while the students and Rachel herself stood in the center. Large metal plates would fold away beneath the arena as six different elemental terrains surfaced. Two of them being frozen over with ice, simulating their own snowstorm within an isolated area. One of them, jagged and earthy, with powerful steaming geysers blasting from beneath the earth's crust randomly. A fourth with a small, mountain-like formation with various lightning rods and other conductive material littering the terrain, between them jumping jolts of electricity in unpredictable patterns. A fifth breaking off into various floating platforms, some flipped vertically, others upsidedown even. Then lastly, a wood-based setting consumed with a raging inferno, trees crackling with cinders as flames roared to life. Clearly, this was the mystery dust.
                                                              Stepping off of each terrain was an individual, though likely unfamiliar to the students. They were random huntsmen or former academy students that Rachel had gathered as volunteers for the task at hand, to test the students of tomorrow's aura. "Look, I'll keep it simple. Apparently, Beacon has a failure rate in defense aura. That doesn't paint a good image for a school of future huntsmen, so we've all been assigned to test your aura in some way. Really, I'm leaving this in your hands. You can either team up with another student, or with a volunteer. What are we doing? We're either making or breaking your aura if you can even use it defensively. How I see it, if you keep up your aura and break another, you're already passing. If you get your aura broken, then it'll come back stronger because you'll know what you're capable of, and where you need to go. If you can't use your aura at all, well... You're the reason we're doing this." Rachel would pause, looking away from the students and towards the volunteers before motioning towards the newly created biodomes of dust. "To keep things interesting, I'm using your dust preferences as obstacles against you. If you team up with another student, I'll shift the biodome. If not, scoot to your zone. Floppy ears, since you didn't give me an answer, you get fire and plant, apparently. Better learn how to use that aura on your feet, eh?" She cracked a joke, though in an almost twisted matter. Had the girl not said anything at all about the blades in her boots, she probably could've gotten off scott-free. After all, who was Rachel to know about secrets?
                                                              "So lets keep it simple. No weapons, no semblances, just your body and aura. Even if you're not an unarmed fighter, even you should know your greatest weapon is your own aura. If you can't use that, then what are you even doing here? Alright. Make your pairs, or pick a volunteer, and let's break some aura! I may even have a surprise at the end for those who manage to keep their aura up. She said loudly, almost as if that was the most exciting part. The issue with Rachel, though, is that if she's excited, you should be afraid.
                                                              [[Lesson Plan: Make it or Break it.
      Deputy Head Mistress of Beacon AcademyShadow Education Minister
                                                          Though she agreed it was necessary, Aurelia wasn't pleased to be playing babysitter. To be more accurate, she wasn't pleased to be watching Rachel while her regular charge, Aurtrox, could be doing gods know what while she wasn't watching. Likely sending students off on some wildly dangerous missions, which she'd need to explain to the council later. His zealousness for destroying Grimm sometimes blinded him to the limits of those in his charge. Any of the students and most of the council would be frightened if they knew just how deep his hatred of the creatures ran.
                                                          What might strike the students as odd was that Aurelia was armed. Usually, the Professor was seen with her tablet in hand to the point that some speculated that was her weapon. In many ways, the tablet was a more powerful weapon than her physical one. As a single person, she could only defeat so many Grimm. As deputy headmistress of a combat school, and a shadow minister on the council she could do so much more for the defences and offences of Vale. A large quiver hung from her back, black and sleek. In her hand, a matching compound bow. What it transformed into was anyone's guess, if this was indeed a transforming weapon. The plan was a simple one. Should Rachel succumb to another frenzy, Aurelia would temporarily pin her to the ground using a gravity arrow, giving the students a chance to getaway. From there, things became more dicy. Armed with a large vial of blood, Aurelia would attempt to make herself the target and lure Rachel into a hard light trap. Given everything she had learned about the Omega incident, Aurelia felt this was unnecessary. That a second such attack wouldn't happen in the middle of class. However, the Vale Council and parents of students needed to be appeased. At least she could spend her time observing the skills of the students, so perhaps it wasn't a complete waste of time. The display during the exhibition was despicable. Defensive aura was the most basic of skills.
