Sephos Arbola

Oh, yes! Sephos knew he'd seen a beach ball somewhere! He wanted it for himself - to play with and have that thing called fun. It said FREE - a word that he could read - but he was not comfortable with that. He wanted to trade for it... but perhaps he could earn it too, in other ways?

The games at the booth looked a little... uncomfortable... but Nucleo had said that he should enjoy himself and they looked... fun.. ish?

If he didn't like them, he could always trade his stuff for theirs. He took a deep breath and approached some sort of watermelon-hitting game. He'd thought he'd have more trouble with it, honestly, but it was basically like keeping violent weeds down - you hit them, they go away. He did okay, he supposed, but it didn't really matter either way.

Sephos Arbola

Sephos stared at the seadweller - did they really have gills? Where? His interest was only idle, and he decided to do his best to have fun with... whatever this thing was that he was doing here. Obedience? Well, he wasn't disobedient, was he? It was very confusing to think about.

Maybe she'd trade items later? Surely that would be better than this... except, the game was starting, and Sephos found himself without a choice in the matter.

Apparently, though, he was bad at this game. He did things practically, and orders didn't seem very practical to him. He shrugged off the assessment and moved on.

Sephos Arbola

This was... an obstacle course? Sephos briefly considered opting out, but then he remembered - Nucleo would be counting on him to help him with an obstacle course. Which meant that Sephos should probably try this one out, so that Nucleo could have fun and not get hurt or something.

So, Sephos gave it a go. Apparently, the first one involved jumping, and so he did so. He wasn't bad at jumping - one did that in the woods. One did many things in the woods. Apaprently, though, jumping in trees and over rocks did not prepare one for competitions. Still, it wasn't so bad.

Swinging, though, he was better at. He had to be - otherwise he'd have broken something long ago. It wasn't so hard. Maybe the obstacle course with Nucleo wouldn't be so hard, either. The greenblood, he knew, was looking at him, but he didn't particularly give a damn. Who cared what she thought? He didn't - he just wanted to fulfill his promises.

The last obstacle didn't exactly give him confidence - slamming face first into the mat, Sephos wondered if he'd lost one of his teeth. A cursory check told him that he did, and that he was bleeding. He wiped himself off and gave hte laughing greenblood an unreadable potential glare, before moving on. He'd lost teeth before - he'd be fine.

But would Nucleo?

Sephos Arbola

Sephos had no idea what he was getting into, but he was feeling pretty sure that he'd earned that beach ball by now. He wasn't sure, however, and he decided that he might as well give whatever this was a try. Turned out, it was ice water. Which was fine - he'd bathed in icy cold water, before.

Slipping, however, was bad. There went another tooth, more blood, more strange feelings, possibly shame and doubt. Fortunately, he now had a towel to clean himself up with... so, not all was lost. Either way, though, he'd earned that ball. And now, he was getting out of there.

Deimos had finally gotten a full day's sleep. Finally. He felt awake, alert, and ready to kick watermelon... a**... Never mind that they didn't have them. He waded into the pool and readied himself. It was almost like everything was in slow motion- he managed to smash every melon that came his way. It was the best moment possible. He wasn't bad at it, he just needed proper sleep. Hypothesis proven.

The issue with being awake also meant that he did not want to listen very much. He was far more interested in doing other things. Despite getting pegged with water balloons, he didn't care that his score with Lorata was so low, or that she kept telling him he'd do better. Well, yes, he could, if he wanted to.

Despite having mastered the quads earlier in the week, he just couldn't get past them this time. Nothing could ruin his mood, though. Not after totally destroying the watermelon smash game. He blazed on through the chimes, finding it much easier to get past them.

Lastly it was the bouncing balls. The true bane of his existence. The one course he had never managed to pass. He took a deep breath, preparing himself, then started off. He was going to make it- he went to the last one-- and then ended up over extending his leg and found himself awkwardly stretched in a most uncomfortable position.

The damn bouncing balls had won... but he'd be back. Later. Somehow. Either he'd win, or they'd die.

Soon as hands touched him, Mahmud visibly flinched and tried to shrug away. Touching, unwanted touching. It wasn't like when Polair ruffled his hair, or Poe held his hand... it wasn't like when Malory gave him a pat for a job well done. This was a threatening touch; even he wasn't so thick as to not realize that.

Flydra's tone was sleepy, haunting... and her words were precise and knew how to cut like a scalpel through his arguments. Even if he was right, and Mahmud knew he was right... in this world... it was really hard to argue what she was saying. Not if he wanted to live longer than a few moments from now.

"That self defense bullshit is just another way of saying you're afraid of getting hurt."

Of all the words they said, those dug in the deepest. Lorata could command, and Austri could jeer... but so far the most dangerous was, certainly, Flydra. They could see straight through him. Thank gog. Thank gog thank gog thank gog. Mahmud's arms uncrossed in order to rub where the other troll had once touched him, shivering. "That's... not entirely it..." It wasn't entirely it, not by a long shot... but those were the only words he could stammer out before they continued.

Of course there were things worth fighting for. Like treating trolls fairly. Things worth suffering for, like making sure other trolls weren't hurt for no reason. But when they said traitorous criminals? That hit a cord deep down in Mahmud, one that tried to ignite another round of rage. What the ******** did they know about them? Or what they stood for? Granted, it wasn't like he understood very much himself... but if they thought the Rebels were fighting for no reason? They were emotionally blind.

"I already joined the Lightseekers..." he murmured again, not looking up from the ground now. Having three trolls surround him was enough to make him start to crack. There was furious itching of the shoulders going on. Mahmud prayed, prayed this would be hint enough for them to leave him the hell alone. Hoped they didn't notice his lack of yes-or-no to that question about the Rebels. "And they do not believe in wanton violence." Despite being surrounded he took a step, one closer to Lorata and even Austri, but farther from Flydra. It was clear they made him uncomfortable.

Wallas might have received a rude awakening by his gooploaf, but he wasn't going to waste the rest of his day moping. Instead, he was going to throw himself at the booth with the intimidating ladies again, starting with the yellowblood whose bobblehead he had claimed the day before. He readied himself to mash some melons, and...

Meh. He did more dodging than smashing. He sighed heavily and mumbled about how discretion was the better part of valor or something. If he hadn't dodged, he might have really felt the pain. Oh well.

This was the final thing Wallas could do to test his star power: Wimpy Wipeout. If he was going to burn out, he was going to burn out spectacularly.

Yeah, no, that freakin' hurt. Wallas briefly considered asking Golemdad to carry him out, but that would have just made things more embarrassing. Time to say goodbye to Bloodfest.

The last night of Bloodfest comes to a close and the sirens kiss you all farewell. All of the free watermelon merch is forcibly shoved into your arms as they can't be bothered to figure out what to do with the remainder of it so you all get beach balls and bikinis galore. Excellent work, soldier trainees of Alternia, the planet's future is looking bright!
