"Edward?" Algie's head tilted curiously. "I promise I will not fail you. In fact I'm sure there could be a very generous curve on all the exams considering.." His hand waved around. "Just please put the stool down?" Ignore the sounds of combat in the hall. Yes. "We are clearly not bloodthirsty monsters.." His hands turned over, no claws. "The uh-" His head turned, "Bunny is with us." Alg's hands dropped, his posture relaxed, he had no reason to fight them. Hopefully they would catch on. "Please. We've got nurses and things downstairs. Food and drink.."

Tipping her head back slowly, the a feathery white face with a brilliant blue crest and hazel eyes leaned to stare down at her. There was a gentle peck between her eyes that was a hello and maybe a took you long enough. Cross-eyed America, despite everything awful around her, couldn't help the brilliant smile that stole across her features. The bird flew up off her head and settled closer to the kids, its gaze switching back and forth between the kids and the group. Turning that smile to the kids, America nodded. "Miss Lupin got to safety. She's downstairs, if y'all can join her after the uh..." she glanced behind them as a cry came from the hall, "...once the way is clear. We'll make sure it's safe first, though."

"Maybe we should put the stool down," says Edward to his friend. She shakes her head, straight brown hair flying everywhere. "No ******** way," she says, "We agreed, dude, we're not risking it!"

Stumbling over his awkward bunny feet when Shiloh shoved him, Jamie almost fell on his face. By the time he regained himself, his friend had taken off to fight the rouge Chris had warned them about, leaving Jamie to decide whether or not to go, too. He didn't want to fight. He really didn't want to, but he didn't want to leave the others out there doing everything when this entire awful adventure was apparently something he and his kin should've been taking care of. If what the Prideful One said was anything to go by.
It was words that stopped him from making his decision, though. Stopping him in his tracks before he bothered to run after everyone else.
"I..." he turned towards the students who were attempting to fend them off with a stool. "I'm not... we're not... We're not disgusting... We're not bloodthirsty monsters. Y-You've got it all wrong..." His voice was shaking and so were his shoulders. It hurt to be thought of that way, especially when they had no choice in the matter. None of them did, not even the rouges, as far as he knew.
"It's not fair..." Bunny, was that all he was? Were he and his kin just animals? Jamie didn't know what to do. "Y-You can put the stool down, I'm not gonna bite you... but I guess you probably d-don't believe me..."-- Jamie DelaxcroixHP: 20/20

America nodded beside Jamie, "He's been helping save folks. It's why he's here. I'm gonna go help them outside, but keep in mind, he's gonna be protecting you too, if it comes down to it. 'Sides, Miss Lupin..." her expression dimmed, "Cerby didn't make it. I think she'll be glad to know you guys have." Gesturing at the bird as she turned to leave, the girl tried to stern voice at it, "Stay." Did that work with birds? It didn't look very impressed...

You know that scene in a movie where someone has a gun to their head and they walk forward until the barrel is between their eyes and they dare the aggressor to do it? That's what this is. Algie snatched his hands forward suddenly, gripping the legs of the stool in a surprisingly strong grip, "Really please. Just beat me with it then. I'm sure you'll feel better." He had a growly, self deprecating tone, "Throttled with a bloody extension cord, a bum knee and my husband's in the hall fighting some sort of monster into submission that's probably also a student.. So please.. yes.. just bloody beat me with it. I can see it now- Professor beaten to death during exam week by concerned students..." He sighed, still holding the bottom of the stool. Now it was nearly against his own chest, "And then when you've gotten it out of your system we can get you both downstairs."

Rushing out into the hallway, America saw the boys trying to keep were pinned against the wall. Seeing one clawed hands moving to strike, America slammed herself against it, her full body weight hitting it at an odd angle. She thought she heard something crack, but maybe maybe not. There was a lot of noise and a sudden stinging pain as its claws pricked her shoulder.

Lily was on edge, and not exactly in the chillest of moods, all things considering, so when the professor hit a face full of electrical cords, she nearly jumped out of her skin, startled by the sudden if ineffectual trap. She froze towards the back of the assembly, arms still raised defensively, but when she realized that it was students and not weres, her guard lowered slowly, glancing around with furtive eyes to gauge if anyone had seen her momentary lack of decorum. "That's cool," she called back to the students, shrugging her shoulders with a flat expression. "You weren't invited to the furry club anyways, right, Jamie?" She turned away from them in an attempt to look nonplussed, which was about the time she noticed the others beginning to corner another were. Well, it was time for her to be useful, given that she was one of the few who didn't have much to lose by being bitten. She weaseled her way into the group of people pinning the were, equally trying to ignore the sensation of pack and the pain as a rogue claw nicked her in the arm. With her lanky arms she pinned his head back against the wall in an attempt to keep the bitey parts away, slamming a bit hard with the adrenaline pumping in her veins. Oh. So that's how easy that was. Oops. --- Were HP: 27 Lily HP: 19/20

"You are ******** disgusting monsters," repeats the girl to Jamie. Edward cringes, but doesn't argue. "You have bunny feet and claws and furry ears, s**t, it's your kind that killed Jason! He's ******** dead, bunny boy, those monsters tore out his ******** throat with their teeth!" She lets go of the stool and pulls Edward back with her, away from anyone who might be were-contaminated.

Algie sighed, flipping the stool in his hands and putting it down properly. "Jamie-" He held out a hand, "Perhaps you could .. step outside the room?" He had an apologetic look but keeping the kids safe was more important than pride right now. They'd all been through a lot, including these two it seems.

It didn't matter that America reassured him. It didn't matter that Lily tried to play nonchalant and bring him into the fold. Nothing really mattered, because Jamie was a disgusting monster and deep down he was dangerously close to believing it. Listening to them talk, he found himself wondering how many people on their team believed it, too. They were comrades in necessity only, weren't they?
Part of him wanted to apologize for their murdered friend. Another part knew it wouldn't matter. They'd hate him either way.
"Fine..." he muttered in response to Algernon, sounding somewhere between injured and bitter. He may have been requesting what was best for everyone, but that didn't make Jamie feel any better about himself. Leave the room, you're scaring people by existing is the only thing he heard.
Jamie didn't want to fight. He hated the idea of fighting, but what else could he do? There were tears threatening at his eyes as he ran out of the room, his disgusting feet carrying him faster than they had before. Looked like he really was getting used to it.
It didn't take long to reach the scuffle near the stairs, a scene that had become nothing but a sea of bodies pinning a single unfortunate soul against the wall. Even before touching his kin and realizing their bond Jamie felt for them, felt for what they had become, knowing so many people considered them nothing but a monster. Still, he wouldn't let them keep going. He'd help stop them to keep them from doing something they'd regret while out of their right mind. It just wasn't fair, but Jamie was quickly learning life wasn't fair.
Diving at the were's legs, he instinctually dodged away from a kick before wrestling said legs to the wall in a vertical dog pile with everyone else.

The look on Jamie's face made Alg feel awful. He glanced at the bluejay too, wondering if warg animals could judge you. It probably was. Still he was relaxed now approaching the two holed up in the room, "Better?"

Thorne. The were's claws lash out, exposing its bloodied face. It's a classmate of Chris's, a young woman who wanted to teach music to elementary schoolers. Masha. Her hands are mangled now: she'll have to find something else to do with her life. Still, despite the broken fingers, the wildness and pain are clear. And she goes hard for the face of one of the first to attack her. She screams, rage twisting her pretty face into a monster.

The rage and strength was too much to keep a firm grip on for long. America was forced off the woman, but she was moving back instantly, trying to force that clawed hand back down. Something warm hit her face.
s**t. s**t!
This one wasn't going down easy at all.
