He nearly died on the spot when he saw the numbers bounce into place. Four of the same number!? What were the chances! Tyler quickly scooped up the coins into his pocket as fast as he could. He needed to get this. He was so close to his target! Flourishing out another coin, he plugged it into to try once more.

Slot machines, they were simple, and despite only winning one out of three times there was a chance Harper could win a few more coins. This time she had to pay, dropping in one coin and pulling down the arm. The numbers flashed and then stopped, nothing. s**t, ran through her mind as she stared in a dismal manner at the screen. If it was going to continue this way she was going to be screwed for sure, not to mention the other woman’s life.
She had to do better than this.

Harper hesitated before dropping the next coin in, what if she spent all her coins and didn’t make anything. What if all she did was lose all of what she had and wound up with nothing at the end? Would she have to go through the same thing the other woman had? Maybe even worse dragged off wherever the man had gone to, the room off to the side. She didn’t want to think about it, but she couldn’t avoid it. Dropping the coin in she pulled the arm of the machine. The numbers blurred by before stopping, two sets of matching numbers as the machine dropped three coins out.

Maria stepped up to the slots, her hand shaking a bit from everything as she went to grab her coin. All of a sudden, the idea of spending a coin to get something seemed a bit meaningless. Yet, she needed to increase her coins, and so she placed one into the slot and pulled the machine.
As each number popped up, her heart beat fast. Nothing...nothing...and then, a double, and music, as three coins popped out of the machine.

As she felt a bit confident, she took another coin and placed it in the machine. Pulling the device, she felt her hope build as the numbers spun, before another double dropped three coins. She looked around to see how others were faring, and noticed between white faces a bit of optimism.
