Hearing a somewhat familiar voice, Tobias turned his head and saw Charming. Giving a bob of his head and a smile, he let go of Sammy.

Charlie took Tobias's hands and danced of with him, winking at Rae and mouthing thank-you at the princess.
"So...uh...Happy Valentines Day, Tobias..."
He stuttered lamely...oops. Forgot to figure out what to say. Silly Charlie.

Sammy blinked as Tobias and Charming swayed off together, looking like a picture perfect couple. She wanted to take this as a surprise, but she had to admit that outcome was far more likely than anyone asking her to dance. "...it looks like I'm just playing for second." she said with a sigh, disappearing into the crowd to be alone.OOC: ...that is equal parts hilarious and disappointing.

Sorry, the princess isn't here right now, she's currently trying too hard to suppress a gigglefit. Reminding herself to keep her composure, she simply smiled and waved them off. Venturing over to the refreshments table, she'd lean casually against the wall to watch the spectacle.
((She's giggling at Charming's antics, not at Sammy. Just to clarify.))

Rather not expecting to be the one taken, he raised a brow following.
"And a happy Valentine's day to you as well, Charming. Or should I say Charlie?"
Adjusting to his new dance partner's hold, his brow stayed up though now concern touched his face.
"Are you alright? I do not recall you being one to stutter."

Sammy shook her head, arms folded over her chest and eyes draped in shadow, almost as if she were trying to hide something. "No, that's okay." she said quietly with a forced smile. "Thank you for throwing this wonderful dance, but it's getting pretty late. I should get going...have work tomorrow..." Her rhythms were several beats off from their usual manner, the faintest glint of a sparkle dripping off her cheek. With a delicate nod and a hasty step she hugged Minty around the shoulders and disappeared.OOC: ~

Charlie's heart beat like a drum,
"I like it when you call me Charlie."
He cleared his throat, and if possible, his ears turned even more red,
"Say...um...would you...um...Like to maybe go out on a date sometime?"

"Are you sure?" Minty asked, hugging Sammy back warmly, "You know the ending isn't written yet, right?" she whispered in Sammy's ear.
But it was too late, the less-than-spunky waitress had disappeared into the night.
(Someday Sammy and Minty are gonna have to get together and Minty will tell her about how she once watched her fiance marry another woman, it will be grand)

He continued to smile, hoping to calm the other male down.
"Then Charlie it is."
His gaze shifted a moment noting the further reddening of Charlie's ears. Then he caught the words and it clicked. Still smiling, his gaze came back to the other man's eyes.
"Asking me out? I have to admit, this is unexpected. What did you have in mind?"
((I don't know about better, but it's certainly me at my terrible best. A song for the two to dance to. ))

Here he made sure to keep his smile soft, not wanting to make Charlie anxious.
"If I could perhaps have tea, I think that what you have planned sounds lovely. Permit me one thing further. What brought this on? It seems ages since we have seen each other and talked. Truly a pity that. I should have tried to be around more."
Bowing his head a moment, his smile turned more apologetic.
"It seems I have also missed out on enjoying time with a good dance partner."
((Heh, he's trying.
Guilty. It's good that you came in when you did, I was having a further terrible moment. I seriously thought about putting up another song while awaiting his arrival. ))
