It was somewhat surprising to see the Wartortle coming back with such powerful attacks in spite of it's weakened condition, but then it dawned on Whitney. "Brace yourself Miltank, that Wartortle's Torrent ability must have activated! It's water attacks will be stronger now, but that also means it's nearing the end of it's rope, just hold out a little bit longer and hit it with a Stomp attack!" Whitney insisted, and Miltank quickly shook off the water pulse to land another Stomp attack, but the Wartortle persisted it seemed, still managing to stay conscious and unwavering in the end.

≈Alex Cross≈ Encounter - [112/5] Questing - Choice Band - [34/50] Leaving for: - [0/3] Alex had hoped to finish off the battle the next turn, but he needed for Wartortle to not flinch, just one more time. He hoped for the best, but his glance moved toward Eevee, having her as a back up plan. The trainer didn't give up on Wartortle, since that was the way he battled, but thinking ahead was a good way to make sure momentum didn't fade. Despite the planning he had thought of, Wartortle managed to take another Stomp without flinching. Even though that was a good thing, the water type pokemon stumbled back, just keeping her balance as it was obvious she was quite exhausted. Alex was worried, but he wanted Wartortle to deliver the finishing blow. "With Torrent, I think we can finish this off, Wartortle. One more attack and you can rest. Lets use the strongest move you have, Aqua Tail." Alex had been holding this move back for this moment, not to prove a point, but because he knew it was pure physical and didn't have any extra status effect. In a gym battle, sometimes it wasn't just about using the strongest attacks. Either way, Wartortle nodded and seemed to get a second wind as she could handle one move. With that in mind, her tail began to glow light blue as she spun her tail around. This motion caused a spiral of water to start spiraling around it. Wartortle moved quicker than it had done all battle toward the Miltank. Suddenly she lunged forward and flipped around in mid-air before slamming her tail into the normal type pokemon. Aqua Tail managed to connect full force with Whitney's pokemon and was enough to finally knock out the powerful Miltank.

Yeah, this attack is a really good show of how great Torrent can be. lol Almost doubled the amount of damage. I know, it was close, you almost got Wartortle, but this works good. I'm switching for Eevee to give Wartortle a rest without going to her pokeball. That way after this battle I'll probably have enought to evolve her to Blastoise. So, that's my plan, get Eevee in and use Quick Attack. lol Just saying that now since you need to switch in the third pokemon and then I get the switching of my pokemon, then I'll just start the second round by using Quick Attack since there is no point in waiting another post. Also, in light of the recent update on the ability adaptability, I would like to point out that for this battle I will not force you to change the adaptability effects, as the rule was implemented in the middle of our battle and it's not fair to force that. Therefore you may still choose to have adaptability do x2 damage if you would like. I don't like changing things in the middle of a battle like this, but you should probably make note that afterwards adaptability will only do x1.5 damage, not x2 for its type bonus. x2 was a little high, I think I missed it when I was scanning through last time for abilities and items because it was worded as "double damage" instead of x2 or numbers and the like.
Leader Whitney
Whitney knew that it was all over the moment Miltank wasn't able to get the Wartortle to flinch. Shoot! They'd beed doing pretty well too, but the Wartortle came back at them with a mighty Aqua Tail and absolutely wiped Miltank out. "Gak!!" Whitney shielded herself as Miltank was sent hurdling her way with a wave of water, and together they collided, falling to the floor with Miltank utterly (pun completely intended) passed out. Whitney managed to pull out the cow's pokeball and return the Miltank before it completely crushed her, and sat up groggily, now drenched, frazzled, and humiliated. "Alright fine, so you defeated my Miltank, but we aren't finished yet! Get in there Clefairy!" Whitney ordered, sending out her final pokemon, trying to keep her hopes high, but Clefairy's attacks were a little unpredictable. This battle could really go any direction with Metronome under a pokemon's belt.

Even though they were still in a battle, he didn't want anyone to get injured from their attack. Eventually Whitney had gotten back up and seemed like she would be alright. Alex sighed in relief and then looked toward Wartortle who was clearly exhausted. "Wartortle, you've earned a break, come back over here." The tired water pokemon nodded and then walked back over to where Eevee was.["I could use it.."]He was glad to give Wartortle a break and watched on as Clefairy was put in as the last pokemon. Alex grinned a bit, before speaking to Whitney. "I've made you wait long enough, Eevee, you're up, use Quick Attack." Eevee got up and headed passed Wartortle on the way.["Nice going, I'll be sure to give you some rest."]The normal type said, which would be surprising, even to Wartortle. Either way, Eevee was up and entered the battlefield. She didn't waste any time and broke into a fast run toward the Clefairy. Eevee tackled the other normal type, this wouldn't do a tone of damage on its own, but at least they managed to get the first attack in. "That's a great start." Alex said as the battle was getting closer to the end.

A dragon trainer was next to challenge Leon and Kai. Much to their surprise though, the battle was done in two rounds. After the battle, Leon pat Kai's scaley shoulder. "Awesome job, Kai. I think one more battle like that and I'll let you have a break. Maybe I'll see if I can get you a fish as a snack." he told his starter. The gator opened his mouth, trumpeting his guttural approval of a snack. The raven haired male chuckled a bit before continuing the search for more trainers to battle. He'd have to get to training some of his other pokemon soon, even though Kai was likely tough enough to lay the smack down on Whitney's precious pink pokemon.

Also, I would like to point out that I'm not neglecting your Rocky Helmet. While the moves Clefairy is using are moves that would normally make contact when used, because they are summoned Via Metronome, Clefairy does not make contact with your Eevee.
Leader Whitney
It seemed the time had finally come to battle Alex's cute little Eevee, and honestly Whitney was pretty excited about that. "Hee~ Alright! Let's see what this little cutie's got!" Whitney grinned, her Clefairy bouncing happily from one foot to the other. Alex commanded the Eevee to hit them with a Quick attack, probably to get the speed advantage. Her Clefairy was pretty fast after all, so that was a pretty smart move, and it did quite a bit more damage than a regular Quick Attack too. Strong and cute! Whitney liked it, but in no way was she giving up here and now. "Not bad! I'm warning you though, Miltank might have been my strongest pokemon, but my Clefairy can pack quite a punch! Clefairy, use Metronome!" Whitney ordered.
Clefairy giggled, wiggling her fingers, however after a moment, it felt like nothing had happened. Alex's Eevee was lightly squeezed and slowed down by a constricting force, but it hadn't really done much. Whitney blinked a few times, shocked and slightly embarrassed. Clefairy could do damage certainly, but unfortunately in order to do that damage they needed some luck too. Metronome was just so unpredictable... "C-come on Clefairy! You can do better than that! Try it again!" Clefairy sweat dropped somewhat at it's own failure as well and frantically wiggled it's fingers again to try and pull out something better before the Eevee got ahold of it's senses. This time, a larger force of strange blue energy rushed towards the Eevee and knocked it back some, and the sudden force seemed to cause the Eevee to flinch in surprise. Whitney relaxed then, much happier with this outcome. "Hah! See? I told you~" Whitney flaunted, hands on her hips in an attempt to bring the focus to the better of the two attempts.

Quick Attack was always good for catching up to stronger pokemon in speed. Any gym leaders pokemon were strong, so dishing out any damage too them was a good idea. Eevee was fast, but from what he had seen, it wasn't fast enough unless he used the correct move. Either way, Alex was excited that this battle had been as tough as he thought it would be. "I wouldn't expect anything less from what I've seen so far, though no matter what I don't plan on losing after all this." He said with a grin as he remained as calm as he could after hearing her tell Clefairy to use Metronome. Alex had never seen it used before, but he had heard that it could use any other move. Whitney was leaving it up to a gamble and he definitely hoped things would work in his favor. Fortunately, the first time around didn't seem to do much, but it looked as though Eevee had slowed down. This left her open for the next attack, a second Metronome, but this time the damage was obviously stronger. Eevee was knocked back and slid to a stop, but appeared to flinch which he hoped she'd break out of soon. "Hang in their Eevee, we will turn this around, it worked last time, so use Quick Attack once you can." Eevee seemed to be fighting with herself to attack and suddenly found herself able to move. With Alex already telling her what to do, she quickly broke into a full out run once more. Eevee lunged toward the Clefairy and tackled the other normal type. Once again, the attack didn't do as much as others would, but it hit the mark and knocked the Clefairy back.

Alex seemed exceedingly calm and confident in the face of Whitney's Clefairy, excited even. Not that Whitney could blame him, because this was after all her last pokemon, though Whitney and her Clefairy soon showed him that they were nothing to be trifled with. Well, after they launched a second metronome anyways, the first one was kind of pathetic. Alex wasn't taking chances anymore, ordering his Eevee into a Quick Attack again so they could get in a hit. Clefairy took it well, though she was getting pretty tired. Whitney bit the inside of her cheek, worried about leaving the rest of the battle essentially up to chance because it was their best bet. A little more control would have been nice, but here went nothing. "Alright Clefairy, keep it up!" She commanded, and the little pink pokemon wiggled it's fingers once more, this time summoning the moon to her aid, restoring her health. "Huh, well it wasn't an attack but I'll take it! Healing it nice too!" Whitney smiled. Clefairy had been needing a little refresher anyways.
Clefairy was so completely revitalized in fact, that it managed to get in another attack on Alex's Eevee, wiggling her little fingers and blasting off a Tri Attack at the other normal type. It didn't leave one of the three potential secondary status afflictions, but it had done quite a bit of damage to the Eevee.

Alex wasn't the type to really show it in the midst of battle, but this battle had gone on awhile and every single one of her pokemon didn't seem to go down easily. His pokemon had put in a lot of effort and the Clefairy managed to recover with such a random move. Either way, he wasn't about to give in just yet, but just like last time, Clefairy seemed to be able to get in a second Metronome. Luckily, it wasn't strong enough to make Eevee faint, but it did appear that she was close. Even though she was pretty exhausted, Alex was calm and actually smiled a bit. "Great job holding on there Eevee, it's time to turn this around. Use Trump Card." Eevee was pleased to hear Alex call out that specific attack as she clearly still had some fight left in her. The small normal type pokemon looked toward the Clefairy before six glowing red plates of energy were created in front of her. They were in the form of a ring and were sent quickly toward the other normal type. The move managed to hit the target and cause a lot of damage, though Alex wasn't done there. Using the attack to give Eevee a chance for a second one. "Follow that up with Quick Attack." Seeing the chance, Eevee rushed forward as fast as she could before tackling the Clefairy causing further damage to the normal type.

This time when they were looking for another trainer for Kai to battle, a trainer approached them. "Hey, your Feraligatr is really tough. I'm at a great disadvantage, but I want to test my rock pokemon against your water attacks. It's an... odd request, i know, but i want to try and train them to resist their weaknesses a bit." the trainer said with a small, nervous smile. Leon blinked, unsure about battling someone that was very well aware that they'd be on the losing side, and was a bit weird-ed out by their odd request. What kind of trainer wants to put their pokemon through such a thing? Kai grunted and stepped forward, accepting the challenge, so Leon couldn't deny the trainer. "Er, alright... I'll battle you. Come on, Kai, get ready to blast them with a water pulse." Leon responded. "Great! Thanks! Come on, Onix! Try your best to withstand it!" the trainer said, sending out his Onix. Kai was quick to shoot a blast of water from his mouth at the rock snake. The Onix buckled down against the water attack, closing it's eyes and seeming to try it's best to struggle through it. For a moment, It seemed like it would survive, but soon after, the mighty snake fell, fainted. "Nice try, Onix. Alright, it's up to you, Golem!" the trainer said, seeming to be at least proud of his fallen pokemon for even trying. The Golem popped out, and braced itself before Kai could shoot water at it. Just like the previous pokemon, it seemed to do it's best to resist the water attack. After the attack ended, the Golem was still standing, though was struggling to keep conscious. It was obviously far too weak to go on, and a minute passed before it finally dropped to the ground, fainted. "Good job, golem! Let's get you and Onix healed up." the trainer said, seeming to be quite satisfied with the results he got. He then smiled to Leon. "Thanks for the battle. I've got to go now, but good luck with your training!" he said, then left to go heal up his pokemon.
Kai looked expectantly at his trainer, tail wagging. Leon was still a bit bewildered by the battle, but gave a sigh and looked to his partner. The gator was obviously awaiting his prize. "Alright buddy. Good job! Let's get you that fish i promised you." Leon smiled. He got a trumpeting growl in response. The raven haired male then led the way back into the city, finding a place to buy a fish from. Luckily, since they were next to a body of water, it wasn't that hard to find someone selling seafood. Leon looked for the biggest fish that he could afford without going broke and bought it, holding it by the tail as he turned to face Kai. The gator was drooling for the fishy treat. "Hold on. I need a picture of this." Leon commented, getting ready to snap a picture with his free hand. First, he took a picture of a drooling Kai, then, he tossed the fish, managing to get a shot of Kai snatching it in his mouth. Seconds after that picture, the fish was no where to be seen, though. Leon chuckled, patting his partner's neck. "Good job. Now, I have to train some of the other pokemon I have. So just sit back and chill for a bit, alright?" he told him. The gator burped with a grin. Man, that was a stinky burp! The raven haired male waved his hand in front of his face with a small laugh. Kai seemed to be snickering at the situation too, and soon they were both on their way to find more trainers to train against.
Soon, Leon got a response from Isis, and then got right on to responding to her. He didn't have anything further to say about the girl that he helped in the forest, so he got right to the meat of the message.

I just finished training him up for the meantime. I've gotta train some of my other pokemon now so i can take down Whitney. If worst comes to worst, I'm sure Kai could take on the gym all on his own. Leon sent his message, as well as the two pics of Kai drooling and snagging the fish from the air. He couldn't help but put a little flirty quip in hopes of making her laugh. And... well, he really did like her. They didn't know each other all that well, but she was very interesting and fun to be around. And had the best reactions to his pick up lines. There were other reasons why he was genuinely interested in seeing how things could go between them, as well. After sending the message, he went over to the body of water on the route he was on, rinsing his hands of the fishy smell, and wiping off his pokegear.

Leader Whitney
Whitney's face paled somewhat as she heard Alex call out for his Eevee to use Trump Card. With all the damage his Eevee had taken up to this point, there was little Whitney could do but watch as her last remaining pokemon was hammered with six glowing plates of pure power, and then to kick them while they were down, the Eevee used a Quick Attack to try and finish them off. Thankfully Clefairy was still managing to stand back up again, though clearly she was at the end of her rope now. "I've had just about enough of your Quick Attacks! Let's see how you like it! Clefairy, use Mimic!!" Whitney commanded heatedly. Clefairy, though tired, got a twinkle in it's eye, realizing Whitney's plan and waved its finger. An energy enveloped Alex's Eevee and came soaring back to Clefairy, and then the pink fairy pokemon charged at the Eevee with blinding speed to successfully knock it out.

I didn't want to do this, but you'll like this one I think." Alex grinned before switching to Slowking as the mostly pink, water and psychic type made his appearance. Leader Whitney
Whitney felt pretty confident now that she had quick attack mimiced with her Clefairy. Sending that powerful wartortle out would be useless, but what other pokemon did Alex have? He had said Wartortle was his strongest pokemon, so Whitney half expected everything to be smooth sailing from here, especially if her Clefairy could manage to dig up another healing move from it's metronome. Before Whitney could think too much into it, Alex sent out a Slowking, who seemed rather intrigued that he was being sent to battle, and even greeted Whitney. All Slowking were able to talk, it was pretty common knowledge amongst seasoned trainers like Whitney, and yet she could never really quite get over the strangeness of it all. "Er... Hello!" Whitney attempted a hesitant smile. She did rather like the pink coloring of this pokemon, but she wouldn't exactly call it cute, so... Not her type. Wait... Was that a Quick Claw in it's hand?? "Alright Kai. I've gotta train up some of the other pokemon. Just lay back for now. I'm going to need you to be ready for that gym battle later." Leon told his partner as they walked just outside of the city, looking for trainers that were willing to battle. He then let out the mienshao and Kraken. The weasel looked around nervously, chittering while Kraken merely clicked his beak, staring at his trainer. "You two up for some training?" the raven haired male asked. "Hm. I thought my methods were too brutal for you." Kraken commented. Leon gave an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that... I might have over reacted a bit. It just worried me was all. I didn't realize you would be so strong." Kraken seemed a bit pleased with the apology. Soon, the Malamar's attention went to the mienshao as she chittered more. "Very well then. Ah... This mienshao here said she'd like to be called Sofie, and that she'll stick around as long as you don't turn her in. Sounds like she's escaped from some bad people." he relayed to his trainer. Leon blinked, then looked to the mienshao, crouching down before holding out his spare quick claw. "Alright. Sofie it is, then! Welcome to the team! Don't worry. I don't know who's after you, but i promise i won't let them take you. Here, you'll need this for training." he said to the weasel. Sofie examined Leon, approaching slowly before accepting the quick claw and backing away quickly, examining the object. Leon stood up with a stretch. "Kraken, I'll start with training you for now. Sofie might need some time to get used to being around us for now." he said, then lead the way off towards a trainer he spotted.
Kai lagged behind, enjoying his relaxing time even though he wanted to keep battling for his trainer. Sofie followed along, but seemed to be very watchful of her surroundings at all times. It wasn't long before he found a trainer to battle, and sent Kraken forth. Though it kind of made Leon cringe at how brutal his Superpower attack could get, he figured that it would be a good thing for training. At least he won't feel too bad for pitting him against pokemon that might be more than twice his level.

Soon after, Leon found another trainer eager to battle. Kraken made quick work out of the steel/rock type pokemon with his super strong fighting attack. The Malamar didn't even seem to be breaking a sweat even after all the hard hits he's landed. Leon couldn't help but wonder if he could just go challenge Whitney right now and just win. However, he wanted to be better prepared, especially for that miltank of hers. Her pokemon were tough, and though Kraken was already proving to be quite strong and more than capable to take down higher leveled pokemon, he figured it was best to do some training while he still could. After all, maybe it would help him with preparations to fight Morty in the future.
