Now out of the forest, Cyrus had clear sight of the troublesome starter of his. He chased the turtle through the town, though he ended up finding Rita stopped just outside the doors of the gym. "End of the line, turtle stew. Give me back my pouch." he said, finally having his starter cornered. Rita glared at her trainer adamantly, but handed over the pouch. Cyrus took the money, but turned to leave. "Tortle." she demanded, staying put at the door. The dark skinned male raised an eyebrow, looking back to his starter. What? Did she actually expect that he'd go battle gym leaders? "No. I'm not wasting my time -" "Wartortle." Rita interrupted him, giving him a threatening glare. Her trainer still didn't seem to be going for it, so the turtle looked around, then pointed at a sign. There was a cash reward as well as getting a badge. Rita herself wasn't interested, but Cyrus got interested very fast. "Fine. Let's get this done and over with." Cyrus finally said, opening the gym doors and entering to issue an official challenge. "You better win this, Rita..." he grumbled.

Cyrus looked around the gym after entering. It certainly looked like it could use some remodeling. Though, it was probably intending to be so dirty and rugged. The thief knew about gym battles, and how they worked. He just never got around to challenging any of them for many reasons. Especially since he could be using the time to get more money than he'd get from the winnings. It really wasn't all that much. And badge collecting... it just wasn't really his style. Cyrus was rather un-enthused as he approached Brock, Rita practically dragging him there. "War Wartortle!" she declared, then punched Cyrus in the leg when he stayed quiet. "Ow! What- Fine. I challenge you to a gym battle, Brock." the dark skin male nearly cussed the turtle out, but put on a more sociable face for the gym leader.
"Very well." Brock responded, then sent out Geodude as Cyrus took his place on the field. Rita was pumped for this battle. She was eager to defeat this gym all on her own. It took him a moment to realize that he'd have to give orders to his wartortle, otherwise it would just seem odd. "Just go ahead and use water gun. and keep using it." Cyrus instructed, crossing his arms over his chest. Rita shot a burst of water at geodude, hitting it hard. It managed to hold on enough to throw a rock at Rita, and it plinked off of her shell. Geodude was down after the next round, and Onix was sent out. It's large size did not deter Rita. First chance she got, she blasted Onix in the face with a water gun attack. He survived the attack long enough to be instructed to use Rock Tomb. This time, a barrage of rocks was sent at Rita, burying her in a pile. This gained no reaction from Cyrus though. The next round started with Onix using tackle at the pile of rocks Rita was in. Though she was hit pretty hard, she held out long enough to jump out of the rock pile, water gun blazing. And then, it was over. Cyrus was glad it didn't take that long. Now to collect his prize and get the hell out of here.

Brock was frowning at the end of the battle, but it wasn't entirely because had lost. The moment he saw that the opponent was using a water pokemon, he essentially expected it. Still, though, the battle had come close... and yet, no reaction from the trainer? The guy didn't seem to even care. It bothered the gym leader... but a battle was a battle. "Congratulations," he praised, walking over after returning his pokemon, "You've got a pretty sturdy Wartortle. Here are your rewards." He handed over the badge, and a TM, to the trainer.

Landing with a flap of his wings Simon climbed off thanking Noivern as the few trainers outside was looking at them. Considering how far Kalos was it wasn't' a surprise that Noivern wasn't seen around here before. A little girl came up asking to pet him and Noivern lowered his head. "Verrrn," he said happily as Simon laughed at the silliness of it all. Thanking them with a curtsy she ran over to her mom who mouthed thank you before they went inside. Returning Noivern Simon went into the Pokecenter to get some food.

In the Pokecenter Simon took a seat at one of the tables. Placing his backpack on the floor sitting snug in the front pouch, half exposed, was the Pokeball for the Axew he caught with the incense. Sending out Sableye on the table he wanted to teach him some good moves including the tutor move Signal Beam by giving it a heart scale. Then sucker punch with a big mushroom which his ghost took and popped into his mouth. Returning him he checked the Pokedex for Carbink then Litwick.

Since Carbink was genderless there were no egg moves but deciding to go with a tutor move of earth power with another heart scale. The eyes looked happy at the new move learned. About the same height as Sableye this Pokemon didn't look too threatening but Simon knew the real power of fairy types. With some good training Carbink could be a force to reckon with. Returning it next would be the Litwick he saved.

With Litwick he cooked the big mushroom over his flame before munching on it so that he could learn heat wave. That was the only move Simon wanted the little fire guy to learn but instead of returning him Simon kept him out while he removed his own food asking if Litwick could warm it up. Litwick replied by making his flame larger which caused Simon to smile and cook his food. As he ate he got some Pokefood that was specific to Ghost Pokemon and watched as Litwick ate it as well.

"Yeah, whatever. Thanks." Cyrus said as he accepted his prize, then immediately turned his back to the leader to walk out. It wasn't much of a prize, but he hadn't done really any work for it, so that was good enough for him. "Looks like you aren't that useless after all." the dark skinned male commented to the turtle after leaving the gym. He figured he'd go grab something to eat at the pokemon center before moving on. This town was starting to get stagnant. Upon entering the pokemon center, Cyrus went right for the food while Rita had to take it upon herself to get herself healed from her battle. Argo, though on his trainer's shoulder, happened to take interest in someone's bag not too far away. There was a pokeball peeking out of that front pouch. And the trainer seemed to be preoccupied with his own pokemon, anyways. It seemed for the perfect opportunity to steal the ball, and whatever was inside it. The wingull went into stealth mode, dropping to the floor quietly. Argo hopped over, careful not to be seen. Once he was close enough, he poked his beak into the pouch, taking the pokeball and backing off with it quietly before leaving the pokemon center. Cyrus wasn't very aware of what his partner was doing, but wasn't concerned by his sudden absense. Instead, he took a bite of the sandwich he grabbed, heading back out of the pokemon center with Rita tagging along.

Neither Simon nor Litwick noticed the actions by Wingull but when they were done eating Simon returned the ghost, picked up his pack and went outside. The area around here was quaint as he walked around the area finding the gym. Entering the building he saw that it was a ground gym, he could instantly defeat this gym with Greninja alone. Since Sableye was a lower level Simon gave him a rare candy for the first battle against Geodude for that speed bonus. With Geodude sent out Mega Sableye readied himself behind the now large gem. Starting the battle off with the newest move signal beam. Using the gem in his eye amplified by his gem shield Sableye fired off a powerful beam. Geodude's tackle was a good blow however the gem was stronger than diamonds and wouldn't break to that attack.
