Ray was walking with smug in his step as he headed up the hill to Professor Oak's Lab. Taking advantage of his less than desirable situation, he was about to perform the most hilarious "heist" of his career. He was going to walk right in and have Oak hand him, an innocent thirteen year-old, a pokemon without a second thought. He may return to grumbling about his predicament later, but for now he was anticipating with relish being able to tell this story to others at the Base. Not to mention it would prove that there were some advantages to this twiggy boy body.
Teleported just outside of town by the boss' alakazam no less than fifteen minutes ago, Ray planned to get a starter pokemon quickly and then go back to the Team Rocket base. He would deposit it with nonchalance, wiping the smirk off Morgan's face. Anything to get them to be talking about something other than, "Hey, did you hear about Nero?"
At the lab door, Ray pulled on the front of his shirt then stepped inside, doing his best impression of a genuine kid he could muster. The smile was more a smirk, but he had the advantage of his body sealing the disguise for him. He looked the place up and down, thinking about how he would have staged an actual robbery. His eyes fell on Oak, an old man who probably wouldn't put up much of a fight. (Not like Ray could put up anything resembling a fight right now). "Hey." Did kids these days say "Hey"? Damn, he wasn't old but he didn't know everything. "I came for my starter, you can give me one, right?" He had thought about the three choices and which one would be best to get. He thought bulbasaur was the most useful, but he knew that they were actually easier to get a hold of because they weren't the most popular starter. Coming back with a charmander would be the most impressive, he thought. "You have a charmander?"

Oak was still recovering from the last trainer 'visit' he'd received when yet another one appeared, they were certainly popular today. Inclining his head towards the door the good professor offered the young gentleman a smile before he approached, gently waving away the assistant who'd insisted on checking over him prior to the boy's arrival. He had a job to do, and get it done he would! "Why hello there, young man," Oak greeted Ray with a smile, perking up when he asked for a Charmander. "Yes, we do. If you could just wait right here, I'll get it for you." Moving quickly, or as quick as he could, Oak hurried off into the back to retrieve the requested Charmander, as well as a few of the other necessities. "Here you are, one Charmander and, of course, your Pokedex." Oak handed both to Ray then waited until his hands were free to offer a few potions and pokeballs. "And a few potions and pokeballs to start you off."

This was priceless. "Young man"? Areceus, and the old man didn't have a clue. The best part was Ray didn't even have to hide how amused he was by it: his smile of disbelief would be interpreted as young excitement. "Heh, thanks. Professor." His grin grew even wider as he accepted the pokeball, handed without a hint of trouble along with some items, all of them useless compared to the trove of Rocket tech at the base. Useful enough. The pokedex may or may not be worth something.
"Well. See you later." He felt like he was walking on a tightrope as he walked out, a giant sword hanging above his head ready to cut the rope. But nothing happened. He walked out of the lab, a Charmander's pokeball snug on his belt. Areceus, but people were chumps to a kid's face.

With both eyes closed Grayson slumped farther into his seat on the train, at one point nearly becoming one with the upholstery. This was it, wasn't it? His first official mission from Void. It was certainly nothing grand or extravagant, and as far as 'thriller scale' this task was two; a borderline three, depending on the sort of people he would encounter. That was fine with him, more than fine really, it was the best choice for a guy in his place. He wasn't so much a field agent, from the report he received he was free to do as he pleased until he was given an actual mission from his superiors, but this was the first taste of freedom he'd received in over... three years. Sure, there'd be checking in every so often, but for once he wouldn't be constantly monitored, his every task dictated.
...At least, that was what he hoped. Void was everywhere, he knew that, so perhaps it was more of... he was still being watched, he just wasn't aware of it. Still, this was certainly better than what he'd been doing last week, at least that was what he had to remind himself. Of course, there were a few drawbacks to this relative freedom, the biggest being that he would no longer be able to lounge around on his designated couch with Azalea; he'd miss that most of all. Not spending time with Azalea, mind you, but sitting on the couch; it'd been good to him.
The train jolted to a stop, announcing its arrival in Pallet Town, and swallowing back a grunt Grayson's eyes snapped open, only to immediately lower. Suppressing a yawn the young man stood to his feet and climbed down onto the platform, grateful for the fact that he'd boarded a nearly desolate train, it meant less of a crowd to wade through. So this was Pallet town? The teen gave the town a groggy sweep, his blank expression unable to truly display his utter disappointment in all that he saw. It wasn't much, though... then again that was to be expected.
It was such a small place, he should've been grateful: it made locating the lab less of a hassle. Grayson reached a hand to press up against the side of his neck, cracking it, before he began to trudge slowly in the direction of the laboratory in the distance. Man, walking was a pain... but, after five minutes worth of internal complaining, Grayson managed to arrive at the building and without thought he pushed open the door and stepped in. Almost immediately the air shifted and, surprised, he blinked and looked around the room with a rare moment of alertness. "Hm..."
Grayson yawned and the moment was gone, the male returning to his previous 'half-awake' disposition before he walked over to Professor Oak. The man was easy enough to find, he was the oldest one in the building-- not to mention his face was well known to even the most ignorant of wanna-be trainers. On his way over to the man, however, he was stopped by one of his many aides-- or rather, the young woman ran into him and forced him to stop. "O-oh goodness, I am so sorry!" She jerked herself away, blinking rapidly. "S'fine." Grayson peered down curiously, or as curious as his indifferent expression could get, at the woman and huffed at her expression, she looked as tired as he often felt; had she been sleep-walking? Though... the same question could be asked of several of her other colleagues, many shuffled about the lab in a half-daze. "The coffee machine hasn't broken, has it?" he asked, his attempt at a dry joke. The aide gave a low, tired chuckle before she shook her head. "...No. It's just been an.. interesting day at the lab," she confessed before she shook her head. "But what am I doing? You're here to see the Professor, right? He's right over there."
With a nod of thanks Grayson moved around the woman and continued towards the Professor, this time able to make it to the man without any interruption. "Hey there." Pulling a hand from out of the front pocket of his hoodie, Grayson offered a wave to the esteemed professor. "I was wondering if--" he paused for another yawn. "--I could trouble you for a pokedex."

Oak was still feeling drained, much like most of his aides by the look of things. One of them had ran straight into a new face, who looked rather exhausted himself considering the bags under his eyes. After sorting things out with the aide, the dark haired boy made his way towards Oak. "Hello young man, what can I do for you?" Oak asked curiously with a tired smile, waiting patiently as Grayson tried to ask for a pokedex while yawning in the middle of his request. Oak yawned as well, shaking his head. "Goodness.... Be careful, that yawn is contagious." Oak laughed gently. "You may certainly have a pokedex, though would you like a pokemon as well? Perhaps some supplies? Or are you already registered?" Oak asked curiously. It wasn't often that new trainers denied a starter pokemon, but he'd come to expect it from seasoned trainers entering his lab to stock up on supplies. "Here, come this way." Oak motioned for Grayson to follow him towards the back of the lab so they could get his pokedex, passing by the graffiti on the walls that was currently being scrubbed away without much progress.
Oak hummed with concern at the sight. It seemed they would have to paint over the area again. Thankfully the walls of the lab were one solid color, so it shouldn't be too big of an issue. Still, he hoped that someone had taken a picture of the graffiti so that they could analyze it and see if it was some sort of trademark. Entering the back room, Oak took a pokedex and plugged it into a machine to load it with information and pass it on to Grayson.

Grayson offered a tired smile and a shrug, which could be interpreted as an apology. "No pokemon, thanks. Just the items." Charamander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle, he knew the three were rare and certainly hard to come by, but he wasn't interested in either. He already had a team, a small one immediately, but they were all types that he knew he could handle. He reached a hand up, absently tossing his bangs out of the way to provide, for a brief moment, complete vision and at the professor's instructions began to follow him. On their way back there he couldn't help but notice the graffiti several, exhausted, aides were working hard to get rid of, without much success. "Not a fan of art, Professor?" he mused.
The male looked around idly at the walls of the backroom, taking note of the impressive stock of pokeballs about. This was a lab for studying pokemon after all, so it made sense for them to have such an abundance. Interrupted from his observation by the Professor who handed him his Pokedex, as well as a few potions and pokeballs. Grayson gave a nod of thanks, giving his new technology a quick glance over before he put it, and his other supplies, though he kept one pokeball out and held it in his hand, tossing it up and down absently. "You get that a lot, Prof?" he inquired, inclining his head back outside. "''Ppreciation like that from new trainers?"

Oak nodded lightly as Grayson politely declined a starter. Again, it wasn't that out of the ordinary, though he chuckled as Grayson asked if he wasn't a fan of art. "Quite the opposite actually, but this is vandalism, and we can't allow it to stay. The league won't allow it, and neither will I." Oak murmured tiredly. After bringing Grayson back to give him his pokedex and items, the boy inquired once again about the graffiti, asking if he got that sort of 'appreciation' often. "Hm.... I can't really say I have. Not the graffiti at least. People coming in and stealing starter pokemon happens more often than I would like to admit however, but we must not let it get to us. I just can't imagine what would possess someone to go so far just for a bulbasaur... The graffiti at least seemed quite unnecessary, unless I have made enemies somehow...." Oak frowned, furrowing his brow. He didn't think himself the type to easily make enemies, or at least not get on someone's blacklist. Sure everyone made mistakes, but if this was payback for something, he hadn't the foggiest clue what it could be for.

"They stole a Bulbasaur too?" Grayson inquired, forcing himself to appear mildly shocked. Internally he was nothing but amused, he had already recognized the 'parting gift' his fellow member had left behind the Bulbasaur, a grass and poison type, only further confirmed his suspicions. "I wouldn't take it too personally, Prof," Grayson suggested, his attention returning to the older man. It was probably just some degenerate who just wanted a pokemon, doubt it has anything to do with you." Azalea really had taken the more difficult road, hadn't she? Of course, he couldn't say he was surprised, it was Azalea after all, but all the work pulling off a heist like this must've taken... The thought alone was off-putting.
"Anyway, I'll get out of your hair now." Dropping one hand to his side Grayson turned to leave, only to stop once more as he noticed one of the aides suddenly collapse, the young man just barely catching the edge of the table he was at to save him from falling to the ground. "You gotta stop working your people so hard, Prof," Grayson joked, while at the same time pressing the middle button of one of the pokeballs hidden underneath his hoodie. A Frillish appeared, blinking rapidly before she looked expectantly to her trainer. They locked eyes and an internal conversation started up, it ending with the ghost moving quickly to the man who now had a few other aides checking over him worriedly. Rather than interact with him, however, the Frillish moved a little ways past him before she slapped the air, making contact with something hidden there. A cry followed before the air shimmered and a small Litwick appeared, disorientated and unsteady. In an attempt to get away from its attacker the candle shuffled away quickly, right into Grayson who lobbed the pokeball he'd been holding earlier.
Without bothering to check to see if the capture had been successful Grayson moved to the door, leaving his Frillish to pick up the pokeball and follow after him. "Have a good day," he called out, seconds before he pushed the door open and stepped back outside, holding the door open just long enough for his pokemon to slip out as well.

She walked in her kimono stained red with berry juice. It was a horrific sight really. She wished she had some club soda. She already had people running away in fear from her. It was a little annoying hearing people shrill. it wasn't her fault the berries stained her kimono. She had come a long way from the islands. She was also very tired and hungry. Maybe she should have eaten those berries. Being a stow away was difficult. Luckily though this wasn't so bad. She knew this is where she could gain the partner she needed to get stronger.
"Excuse me is anyone in....I'm not a ghost or zombie." she stated with an annoyed tone. Some of the assistants stared at her then calmed down realizing the girl was okay and not bleeding in front of them. At least they hoped that was the case. Keri just rolled her eyes at them.

Hello! Welcome to the guild. Your profile looks fine, but there's one more small thing I need you to edit before continuing. That aerodactyl you got from the horoscope needs to be at level 5 if you want it to have Sky Attack. The options were a level 10 fossil pokemon, or, a level 5 rock type with an egg/tutor move. In other words, the egg/tutor move was only available if you wanted the level 5 rock type, not the level 10 fossil.
Oak paused for a moment, the pen in his hand ceasing to write the letter to his cousin. It seemed there was quote the commotion outside of his office, so he couldn't help but wonder what was going on. With a confused hum, he set his pen down and stood from his desk; the letter could wait. For now he needed to attend the disturbance outside, whatever that happened to be. Exiting the office, it seemed that a young lady was the source of the ruckus, and while she appeared harmless, it was easy to see why his attendants were spooked. The large stain of berry juice down the front of her kimono was an admittedly jarring sight for the old professor, but after close examination of the girls attire and seeing the annoyed look on her face when the aides gave her a wide girth instead of trying to help her, it was clear what the situation really was. "Why, hello young lady. I must apologize for my lab staff, they're normally more accommodating to our guests, but that unfortunate stain on your kimono is quite frightening. You are aware of course, that halloween is long passed, yes?" Oak smiled in good humor, his old eyes crinkling with amusement as he was unable to help but tease Keri a little. "I'm Professor Oak, is there anything I can do for you dear? Perhaps get you a change of clothes?" He offered. It would be his last prod at the juice stain.... Maybe.
She frowned at him. She knew what time of the year it was she wasn't stupid. She then rose her eyebrow at him and found she could easily take a jab at him!
"Is it normal for you have female clothes in your office for younger gals professor?" she took a jab at him.
Then looked at her bag. Like the rest of her it was all wet.
"Can I dry this here and came get it in an hour or so? I was wondering if I could get a pokemon? I sort of came here by swimming, and got a bit lost." she looked off a bit worried he wouldn't by that. "Either way, it's dangerous to go alone right? Could you help me out doc?" she asked him. "I heard you over the radiowaves awhile back." she seemed to love anyone on the radio. Rockets included.

Oak couldn't help but laugh as Keri retorted to his offer of a change of clothes with a witty comeback. "Gracious no! Not in my office. We do however stock small lab uniforms for our young interns. I'm sure we could find you something, should you feel the need." He suggested warmly. As their playful banter came to an end and the conversation shifted to a more serious tone, Oak nodded as Keri asked if she could leave her things to dry here. "Yes, of course." He agreed, though he couldn't help but arch one of his thick grizzled brows as Keri suggested that she had come here by swimming. Johto was Kanto's neighboring region, and her kimono was certainly Johto fashion, but swimming in one seemed to be quite an unnecessary feat. The worry on her face was enough evidence that there was something amiss with her story, but Oak was not one to pry into personal affairs. If she didn't want to explain, she didn't have to. "Quite right. You certainly shouldn't be wandering into tall grass without a pokemon to protect you." He agreed. "Did you have a particular pokemon in mind miss.... Oh dear, I don't seem to have caught your name." Oak frowned, looking to Keri to fill in the blanks. When she mentioned having heard him on the radio before, however, Oak grew a bit sheepish. "Did you now? Well I hope it wasn't too boring. I know my lectures aren't exactly music to the ears, but I try to keep them brief and informative for any young trainers willing to listen to an old man's ramblings." He chuckled.
She stared at him dumbly for a bit. A lab coat might be a good idea until she could dry her things. She nodded.
"It wasn't terrible. The pokemon where I'm from are different. The meowth are a dark grey instead of a cream coat. So I'm looking forward to seeing this region's pokemon." she rocked on her heels. "I was thinking of Bulbasaur, is that how you say it? I heard it has a flower that opens up when it evolves. I might be able to use it during my kimono dances. Like having it use peddle dance or something." She wondered if that was even possible. "I won't know till I try, that's have the adventure am I right?" she grinned wildly with her hands on her hips. "Yup that's my decession doc, er, proff, and I'll take that coat too! That way I can just hang up my clothes outside for a bit and not catch cold myself while I hang out with the little guy."

Oak looked mildly surprised as Keri mentioned dark grey meowth. "Oh! So you hail from Alola do you? I have a cousin researching those strange regional differences between the pokemon here and there. I would imagine seeing the differences here will be quite interesting for you." He nodded in agreement. "A bulbasaur hm? Yes, I believe I can arrange it. I think it would be lovely to see you use it's petals for a dance routine. Miss Sterling?" He called to one of the aides nearby. "Yes professor?""Would you please take this young lady to the storage room and see if you can't find her some lab intern attire?" He insisted. "Certainly. Right this way miss." The tall studious female had been rather unfazed by Keri's juice stain, unlike her "colleagues". She was far too busy to pay attention to such nonsense, but she would assist the young woman if Oak required it. Pushing up the thin rimmed glasses farther up on her nose, she turned and led Keri to another room to help get her clothing sorted out while Oak retrieved the requested Bulbasaur, along with a few supplies Keri would need for her journey. When Keri and Oak's assistant returned, Oak handed off the materials to the young girl. "Here you are, one bulbasaur, and I took the liberty of putting together this little adventure pack for you as well. You'll find a nice supply of pokeballs, potions, and one pokedex to help you look for those Kanto native pokemon that you're so keen on looking for." Oak nodded.

She went to change in a restroom and returned to collect her pokemon.
"Yes, that's actually why I was looking forward to picking up a Bulbasaur , and because I've never actually seen one before." she moved her arms in a circle happily at him.
She called out the Bulbasaur and circled around her. The pokemon looked up at her with her crimson eyes.
"How about. Esmeralda." she smiled at the small Pokemon.
Esmeralda closed her eyes happily and cried out happily. Keri picked up the pokemon and held it closer to herself.
"Woah, all these potions and pokeballs?" She asked in shock. "Thanks professor. I might just have to catch one of everything." she winked happily at him.
"Well I guess I'm off then. See ya around. You'll be getting an army of pokemon in the PC I bet." she left happily.
