An involuntary smile spread on my face as I left her lair. A fetch quest. Of course it was. All women, even horse-fish hybrid women, loved to be showered with gifts. I had caught her attention with my suave reply, but now I just needed to reel her in. Thankfully, I had just the right bait in mind.
After several perilous quests, I returned to her cavern and presented her with the fruits of my labor, and some interesting stories of my attempts to collect them.
1. A Hairbrush: FAILURE
"I tried to find a hairbrush that could tame your beautiful locks, but none looked strong enough to hold up."
2. A Packet of Sea Monkeys: SUCCESS
I opened the box, and sprinkled the small creatures into the water in front of her. "Look! They're pets! I didn't think other pets we keep on land would be able to keep you sufficient company. But these small monkeys come back to life when you release them into the water. May they be your constant companions forever."
3. A Silver Coin: SUCCESS
"This is true money," I said as I turned the coin to reflect the sun, "There are many currencies in the world, but precious metals have stood the test of time."
4. A Gold Coin: SUCCESS
Then I removed the gold coin from my sack, and handed it to her. "This one is even more precious and valuable than the silver one. But neither are worth as much as your heart is to me."
5. A Unicorn Carved of Stone: SUCCESS
"The likeness of a magical beast. Though, you are far more magical than any unicorn I've met."
6. A Bracelet of Twisted Metal: FAILURE
"I found a beautiful piece of jewelry for you. I wanted to make sure it was water-safe before I gave it to you, so I submerged it in my sink. It rusted, so it was not a gift worthy of you."
7. A Decorative Cage: SUCCESS
"It's an image of the great and wonderful Nicolas Cage. You can keep him on your shelf, and bask in his glory whenever you are feeling down."
8. A Baseball: FAILURE
"I went to a game at a large stadium so that I could bring a baseball as tribute. I spent quite a lot of money on a seat close to the field in hopes that one of the players would throw a ball to me. Unfortunately, they gave them all to cute kids."
((OOC: This is the sad and true story of my life. ORZ))
9. Polyhedrons of Chance: SUCCESS
"These dice are used for many games. I would love it if we could play together. Of course, I'm sure you could outsmart me. I would be too distracted by your beauty to play my best game."
10. A Collectable Plush: FAILURE
"The man who sold it to me told me it wasn't waterproof. I should have taken his word for it..."
