"hmm? rustling and a grunt...from there?" colson says, and starts heading in the indicated direction. also, he starts thinking. 'the dragon connects everyone around it's minds together, so maybe if I try THINKING for it, i can tell if its a person or something on top of using my eyes.' and so also trys searching it with his mind as well as his senses.
(colson had an idea...but given how this works, i don't know if this helps or hurts this next roll. i'm going to do a search then, where the rustling is, with axe in hand, though relaxed. + 5 search. or +4 spot, whichever works better in this case.)

Zukiel reaches over and stops the dwarf by holding his shoulder. "Woah there. Don't initiate anything. For all we know, it could be a trap."

A dark elf quickly got up from the brush, holding a hand to her eyes to shield out the light. Colson could hear her irritation from being out in the sun in his thoughts. The young dark elf grabbed her longspear, which she had dropped, and meandered out into the clearing.

The dark elf looked at Zinder, keeping her eyes shielded. "Well, you could help me. I've lost my sunglasses, and I can't find them in this sun..." she said. Then she looked at them. "In return, I can travel with you to the next town. I'm a healer. You know, unless you want to hire me for good."

"Lost your shades, huh?" Livian asked as she strode over to the dark elf. She sniffed her for a moment, gathering her scent, then wandered off to find the sunglasses.

"Sure. If we can't find them, you are welcome to use my hood. I think it should help. Maybe..." Zinder trailed off, lost to her own thoughts again as she looked for the missing sunglasses with Livian.

Livian does not see anything as she searches, but Zinder quickly spotted the glasses laying by the shrub she had fallen into. The dark elf kept her hands over her eyes still to block out the bright sun.

"Found them!" Zinder exclaimed. She picked them up and handed them to the elf. "I assume that you will be okay once you have these on?" She smiled, trying to keep herself from hiding behind Colson again.

(As an aside and because I would like to post. [since no DM has been needed for awhile] Drow are stunned by sunlight and need protection from it, hence the sunglasses, I guess.)

"Ah! Thank you!" she said, taking the glasses and quickly putting them on. "Ahh, that's better... Stupid sunlight..." Then she turned to them and smiled, bowing her head. "Thank you very much. My name is Xaria. I already told you this, but I'm a cleric for hire. As thanks, I want to travel with you to the next town, free of charge." She winked at them.
