Removing his foot from where it was held captive, Carmus continued his ascent. The creaking and bending of wood making him pause every few steps, not wishing to fall or get stuck once more.

The bridge came next and Carmus leaned back as he watched it sway to and fro. This was not going to be easy. Moreso, he doubted he liked the height of it. Still, nothing ventured nothing gained, and he managed to make his way to the end fair enough.

The sound of things, of others that were not like him at all. No cores, not shining like his own, they came at him, making such shrill noises. Carmus was doubting this whole... Goddess thing.

Definitely getting frustrated, Hale let out a cry as she swung her weapon hard at the attackers.

Which left herself right open for another powerful attack. Hale cursed again as the harpies kept swooping in on her with intensity.

Hale then decided that things weren't working towards her favor, and that these creatures were overwhelming with their numbers.

Oh yeah, this wasn't looking good at all...and Hale found her foot dangerously close to a cliff edge as she worn down.

Then Hale went over the cliff edge...making sure to take one more good swipe at the harpies before she went.

As it became apparent that he was simply not going to win, Carmus fled.

The cliffs were high and seemed to go up and up forever, but he walked onwards because that was all there was to do. He was hopeful it would be simple. Hopeful but not confident.
After a time he got stuck, but it was MERELY A SETBACK.
