Derek squawked when a balloon burst on him. ....So much for not getting hit. He looked to find it was the boy he had distracted earlier. Glaring, he threw a balloon in his direction. Or at tried. The balloon slipped right out of his fingers and bounced to the ground before popping.
Darn it.

The confetti appeared to be successful as a distractant. Too bad that Briar couldn’t have had the same sort of luck with his next two water balloon lobs – neither of which managed to connect with either of his chosen targets.
His stomach kept making grumble-grumble noises so Briar decided to check out the table with the juice. Okay so there probably wouldn’t be cookies and certainly not the excellent choc chip ones that Kevin’s mother made – aka what had dragged him into all this in the first place – but hopefully there would be more than juice there.
Ralph had felt the balloon that Briar threw pop on him and the other booking it in the other direction. For a little while Ralph followed him until he noticed the other taking a break. Hm, that didn't seem like a bad idea but Ralph wasn't ready for snacks and something to drink himself. So instead of beaming Briar then he made a motion that said 'I got my eyes on you pal', with a very stern gaze before moving on.
He'd pay Briar back later if he remembered. As he walked, he picked up a new orange balloon. Feeling it slosh in his hands as he walked looking for a new target. There was a sudden squawk from somewhere, as Ralph looked around he noticed it was Derek! the boy lofted his brows before aiming for him. If Derek was going to Squawk like a parrot, maybe he should add to the reason for such noise!
Ralph threw the balloon and watched it sail through the air and hit Derek on the back! There was a chuckle as Ralph ran off in another direction, looking for a new balloon.

(IS THAT HOW ITS GONNA BE? Kay. Challenge accepted)
(Watch me miss.) (CALLLED IT)
Another balloon burst against his shirt as he made a mad scramble for some ammo. "Coooooold!" He howled. Ugh. His mother was gonna kill him. Coming home in a cold muddy, bubbly mess. .... Maybe he should go find some confetti for added effect? Derek glared at Ralph and chucked a balloon his way. Except the balloon sailed by him and hit... a cat?!
This time, purely for variety, Trev decided to aim at something that wasn't people. Throwing his balloon at a tree, he was immediately delighted and a little surprised to see his balloon hit a kid and explode into glorious bubbles.
H-uh.

Fortified from his snack Briar was ready to enter the fray again. Now that he was no longer distracted by tummy rumblings Briar felt like he was on top of the world.
Although what to choose, balloons, bubbles or confetti?
There seemed to be plenty of balloons around so in the end Briar opted for grabbing one and lobbed it at the nearest kid.

As Marisha gets soaked by a nearby boy her eyes widen in shock. The cold water rolled though her hair and down her back as she grinned mischievously and turned grabbing up her own balloon and chasing after him. Once she caught up with him she throws the balloon at hit hitting him. "Got ya back! she calls out before sticking her tongue out at him.

After putting what he hoped was enough distance between him and the random soaked cat, Derek decided it was probably best to hide and take a break. So he grabbed what he could as far as ammo and hid behind a tree. He did try and throw one, but it sailed over the kid and missed.
Briar was in the process of grabbing another balloon, when a balloon hit the back of his head, the cold water making him jump as water dripped from the back of his head and down his back.
Looking up he recognised her as one of the girls from earlier and tried to lob the balloon he’d been about to pick up back at her, although it hit the ground without exploding.
Walking over to the balloon Briar picked it up. There was still plenty of time to get the girl back.
Griffin seemed to be expecting some sort of revenge himself. And it came, sort of. A balloon did fly in his general direction, thrown by someone he'd hit recently, only to nail another kid instead. He turned to Briar and stuck his tongue out. "Better luck next time!" he called out, a cross between a taunt and genuine encouragement. While Griffin could get caught up in the excitement of a game, and liked to bolster his own feelings of accomplishment, he wasn't really a bully at heart.
He could act like it sometimes though, especially considering his "take no prisoners" policy of balloon throwing. Now that his scores had been settled- for the moment at least- it was time to find a new face. Still standing amidst the balloons that had spilled out of the overturned tub, bravely ignoring his wounded knee, he scooped up another projectile and tossed it at Marisha, throwing both of his arms in the air when it hit. "Oh yeah!"
At Griffin’s comment, Briar’s head turned to look at the other boy. He didn’t stick his tongue out back since he was above such things – well okay so he wasn’t really – but tongue sticking out was reserved for certain situations – like when you wanted to show someone that you were so far out on top that they couldn’t catch you.
“I won’t need luck” told the boy confidently as he waited for his chance and then lobbed the balloon in the girl’s (Marisha) direction. Unlike last time however this time his throw appeared to go true. Score!

Ralph was strolling around the grounds when he threw a water balloon towards another kid, and it missed.
He frowned, him maybe it's time to grab a small snack. He headed over to the snacks table and started checking out the grub, when he located some gram crackers he grabbed those and a chocolate milk carton.
Just a few moments break so he can nibble some food.

This was going great! While Griffin really wanted to limp away and get a bandaid for his slashed-open knee (really, 'scraped' made his injury sound so minor), he was unwilling to do so while he was on such a roll, and ammo was still heaped at his feet. He picked up another balloon and made to run after another kid, but small stab of pain lanced through his leg as he put weight on it, and he abruptly came to a stop. That was no good.
He'd hit all of the kids nearby already, but since he wasn't up to running just yet, he supposed he'd have to go after one of them again. Rather than pick on one repeatedly, Griffin lobbed his balloon at Derek, who he hadn't hit in a while.

At Griffin and Brair's successful hits and her now soaked dress Marisha's eye twitched. How could they be so good? She wondered and grinned. She wasn't going to let two boys get the best of her! With these thoughts she grabbed up another balloon and went to the nearest offender. "Oh boys~! You do know.. This means War!" She called to the two before throwing. Unfortunately it seemed her first hit was a miss but she wouldn't let that stop her.

The girl’s ‘this means war’ statement went completely over Briar’s head, as far as he was concerned he’d gotten her back so they were now even – which meant that it was time to look for a new target.
Briar found it in a boy who looked to be sneaking up on a girl standing by the sudsy water tub – perfect! What made it even more perfect was that his aim was true – his balloon hitting the other boy dab in the back.
