The ringing in her ears lessened, replaced by the incessant uh uh UHHHHHHnnnn of...it couldn't be that dirtbike again!

Sarielle's mood and inner dialogue were less than angelic; but she was far too thrilled to have regained a bit of her hearing, however slight, to be truly disgruntled.

Somebody yelled something...but she was still far too deaf to hear what. She chanced opening an eye wider as she felt the demonic aura dim...it was scarcely even locatable anymore. Her eyes, perhaps remembering a bit of the glory they once beheld, seemed to be faring better than her ears. Her surroundings were still blurry, but she could at least discern the difference between a rock and an attacker.

She drug herself to her feet, white dress, now much-begrimed, still very much damp and clinging like saran-wrap to her figure. Debris slid loose, startling her. But a truly joyous smile warmed her features as it revealed a very bright sword. Somewhere out of sight, gunfire and strife continued.

Lifting the weapon, although it was light, reaffirmed the pain across her ribs; clutching them with her free hand, she picked her way to where the demon lay. She'd fix them later.

The creature, reeking of decay even more than it had before, lay twitching on the ground, a dirtbike handle lodged in its back near its spine. One eye winked over and over, and a clawed hand clenched and relaxed. She almost felt sorry for the thing.

Almost.

A swift stroke and the creature's head severed from its body. Sarielle winced, some from physical pain, and partly because of the way dealing death felt.

She hated it.

The head flew away, as if cleanly punted by a professional football player. A little bit of bloodspray ensued, nothing noticeable. Certainly nothing to land on the impeccable angel's grace.

"Rockin'. Stay safe, citizen!"

With one hand, the rather dull-looking individual had grasped rubber between his fingertips, and forcibly withdrawn his vehicle from the beast's back. Not a scratch.

He smiled, knocking the kickstand up. Time to go.

((I'm getting a monster headache from staring at this screen right now, and I can't focus. If I'm feeling better I'll be back later, but I can't think straight right now. And can we please assume that you didn't grab Rage? That just doesn't feel right to me, considering that you implied not only where Rage ended up in order to grab them, but that they had no chance to keep you from breaking their leg. Anyways, I really need to go. My head is killing me. I don't know exactly what to do from this point, so I'm hoping an event mod can sort it out.))

In a second's time Rage was unable to see or hear, save for a horrible ringing. They knew this sort of thing - it had happened before. It'd only be temporary, but she'd have to accomodate for losing her two main points of identification and location for the moment.

[Interupt]
Before the suit could grab her, she instinctively kicked off, having no bearings except what her sense for energy told her was the thing she was fighting.
[/Interupt]

In the meantime, something was burning her chest... and realizing fully well that she had nothing on underneath, was forced to rip off her shirt.
Through some miracle of anime rules, however, the hair hanging down over her ears managed to cover her chest just enough for adequate censorship. She'd pull her old shirt out of her backpack when she had the chance.

As for Gamma, he'd feel a fair amount of relief from the heat that was causing him pain, but it would still be there.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 20, 2006 6:59 pm

Gamma stifled a roar at the pain, lessened but still there. If this b***h was resposible she'd be in a world of hurt. No sooner had she moved than Gamma was after her. The pain abated. Why? Rage suffering from the magnesium burns from the flashbang. A connection? Hell yeah, a good connection; a fun and satisfying connection.

Foiled once by a throw of pain, he'd have that knee and more. The shirt tore away as Rage tried to aid her chest wound, distracted by the pain, blind, deaf... This was almost too easy,

Another short step with his right heavily armored boot. Then a stomp. The force equations would be unfriendly for the womanly knee that supported only itself, versus the hard ceramic power assisted foot of Gamma.

Hey, what the hell, maybe that burning sensation would drop.

The former angel watched incredulously as a man cheerfully retrieved his dirtbike from the creature's now lifeless body. The aura was quite definitely extinguished. The Sarielle who'd dabbled in herbs would have faltered. The Sarielle who carried a sword didn't.

"N-no, wait, I-are you alright?" Surely dumb luck couldn't have let the rider come out of this unscathed. Nobody had that much dumb luck.

She became aware of her own appearance as she looked into his face: her sword, overbright, dripping a little crimson, her dingy dress twisted a little on her body, revealing every curve, and her grey wings, once almost etherial, now visible thanks to a thin coat of grime from her unceremonious landing. Her skin retained it's warm golden glow, her hair, while damp, still looked clean...

But it was not an appearance to inspire confidence.

"If you're hurt, I can help," she stumbled on, words tumbling out helter-skelter in an effort to reassure. She still clutched her own ribs, trying to stave off the ache with pressure. Maybe she should think about helping herself first.

[EDIT: You guys battling can assume we're off to the side, slightly away from the action. And Nightz, you can dismiss her offer of help if you wanna move on, too. ^^ I'm probably done for the night.]

Amongst the chaos, a little fox named Kit came in. He had absolutely no idea what was going on at the moment, nor did he feel like going back into a human form and asking, he was just a curious onlooker, seemingly nothing more, nothing less.

And all the girls thought he was cute, that was a plus.

As for now, he decided to watch.

It was perhaps a strange sight, but a ball of blue enrgy floated over the carnage.

It didn't mind though, now that its long journey was at an end it could peacfuly fade away into nothing.

Sarielle awaited her rescuer's response with grey eyes questioning and earnest, her vision nigh as good as it had been before the flash and deafening boom. It was an incongruous expression, in a way; after all, hadn't she only moments before dealt the deathblow to a demon?

But she was offering help - true healing, not just some poultice or tincture that offered a bit of temporary relief and nothing more. She had not looked so alive in years.

Her intense charcoal gaze flickered momentarily away, chasing a hint of blue light. A few minutes before she would have dismissed it as simply an illusion, a trick of light left over as her eyes readjusted after the blinding flash. But now...

She had scarce noticed its appearance before it faded like the slow dimming of a lantern, and was extinguished.

"Did you just...?" she asked the stranger in a distracted aside, forgetting her earlier question and instead drifting toward the globe of light's last location. She had no idea what it had been, how it related to the petals, or if it was even remotely important. But she did know, instinctively, that none of the combatants nearby had created it. And that itself was quite intruiguing.

Owle Isohos

Owle was still blind, still deafened, though things were coming fuzzily back to her...she could vaguely make out shadows and shapes of things, and she thought she could hear the murmur of strange sounds.

She could tell where everyone was around her, but nothing more. So she stayed where she was, hanging in the air.

Marg struggled, getting his feet below him witha struggle. He clutched the doll close to his chest, feeling his lungs burning up. Every breath, every movement was still a struggle.

He paused, catching his breath and getting his first real look at the carnage rund him. Explosions, craters, fires, power armor, magic users, swords, and more.

Marg shoock his head, and with clenched theeth and a loud grunt, finally got back to a vertical base, standing tall over the land. It hurt still, but he focused, clutching the cat idol tightly.

The winged one. His eyes locked onto her. He remembered her slamming her shoulder into his chest. She was the reason why he was hurting now.

Slowly, gingerly, he walked over towards her, favoring sore and wounded parts, not putting too much pressure on his body.

Suddenly, the blue light materlized once again. Only instead of any magical sound there was a click, as if a lock came open.

Quickly zooming towards Owle, the light changed into cloud of blue sparling dust.

She would find herself wearing a oversized pope's hat. A piece of clothing she would find herself unable to remove.

Whatever happened over here, it was over. On the inside, Kit groaned, he was about to circle around from gambino and back, now it was going back to it's boring self. Ah well. Perhaps he'll find Athan again, he lost him a while ago, hopefully nothing happened...

He headed towrds the fountain.

opaj's eyes fluttered open, suddenly wakened by the sound of the letter T. Looking around, he quickly rolled to his feet, using his sleeve to wipe away some blood that had dripped down the side of his face. Luckily, his head gear prevented the shrapnell from penetrating his skull, but it hurt like hell and made the world a little more wobbly, nonetheless.

opaj gritted his teeth as the shiny letter landed between him and Rage. Where Gamma was. He was torn between running the other way, or going to help his friend (who was still up and on his feet neutral ).

Let's... retreat! he sent to Owle and Rage. Angel was far enough away, that he figured she'd get the picture before the Gamms could harm her.

There is only so much a guy can take. Pillow monsters, demons, being battered around and twisted more ways than he could have imagined. Thrown at an angel, hitting the hard earth. Flash banged, and oh yeah, now a giant letter.

If he wasn't only half mad, he would have been sure he was seeing things. Then it spoke.

The letter, of DOOM
"I pittah the foo who don't get out of this here area."

"It's going to eat me! Run, appease the demon, avoid its wrath!" Marg screamed. Fear gave strength to a battered, bruised body. Quickly he turned, running as fast, and as far away from the T as he could.

Westward he moved, fleeing to the safety of Barton's Shopping Center, its buildings, and hopefully cover from massive letters eating him.
