This, believe it or not, was Kettil's first time seeing Freya in action with other students on a grander scale, at least this up close. He'd perhaps seen glimpses here and there over time but this was like a super extended version that made him just ... a little bemused.
"Freya," he called softly at her as Shun seemed to show 'warning' signs like a very ill tempered foxfire that hadn't had treats in a while, "Maybe he's waiting for someone? Maybe we should let him be?"
Kettil was trying to save you Shun, be thankful.

Jude blinked a bit at the request and just sort of stared at the gnome before him as if he was flabbergasted at this request. Could they? ...
..Would it cause a stir?
..Why was he considering this?
"....Do I have to?" There was no whine but just a simple deadpan tone.

Jude has become a 5' tall, Vampire Male. He looks about 14 years old and is wearing some rather punkish garb. His hair looks great though - all black and flowing accents those blood red eyes nicely.
Oh wow, oh wow. Kwasi tried to not stare as he wandered through the crowds. This totally wasn`t the biggest event he`d ever been to in his entire life, nope. Gawking, he bounced between other students and townies alike, occasionally stopping to snatch at a silver seed. This crowd was so big, even if he did know anyone at the school, he was certain he would never have found them. Man, if this was what it was like every year, he had made the right choice. And even if he personally hadn`t contributed as much fear as he had been hoping. Who knew kids were that hard to scare? Shoving the twinge of shame down, Kwasi mentally smacked himself between the eyes. Enjoy the party, dumpass!

He let out a low chuckle, pleased that the ghoul had remembered him, though really, how could she not? He stared down at her with dark red eyes, his lips curling up into a larger smile, almost predatory, a reaction to her shy and frankly adorable behavior towards him. She was acting friendly enough, yes, but she would not even raise her eyes to look at him, probably too flustered, embarrassed by her desire for him. Ah yes, that made perfect sense.
"Yes, of course." Still smooth, gesturing with a hand at all of the activity around them. "This is quite the celebration, is it not? The Fear in the air is most intoxicating." Ever the suave gentlemen by voice, even if the tone held just a hint of cockiness to it. At last she was rocking back to look up at him. Her smile was lovely, met with his own that had yet to fade from his face. He almost didn't even notice when another ghoul approached until she made her presence known by speaking of the evening, and his eyes flickered towards her.
Then proceeded to rake over her body as he studied her every curve, turning slightly to allow her to join their small gathering, almost unable to believe his own good luck at this evenings sudden gifts. Halloween truly was the most fantastic day of the year. The new arrival was pretty much echoing what he had already said, so he replied, "My sentiments exactly." Before extending a hand towards her.
"Grendel." He offered, then awaited her reply.

As the baku drew away he chanced a quick glance back towards Mort, mostly to make sure that the other zomboil was still there and hadn't decided to wander off or hide. The gentle squeeze to his arm had him looking back down towards Xiu, his brow furrowed, his confusion still plain as he tried to sift through the fog that was his memories, the flashes and fragments not enough to fill in the gaps. "I--I see." It was all he could say, really. It was Halloween, which meant that whatever happened, there was quite a large gap in his memory. Haunted house, insanity, something to do with Red and the fragment that he held in his hand....
...And now this. Xiu was confirming that they had been gone for a while, but gone where? And why? His memories were still too muddled to work that part out. But her mention of worrying a lot of people brought on a wave of guilt, and one face did come to mind, though he was not sure so much if the weremantis would have worried over him or not...though..had something happened between them? He felt like something might have, though his last clear memory had to do with meeting at the library which...had never happened, he was sure of that much at least.
Suddenly Alexander wanted nothing more then to just get away. To find a quiet place away from the noise, a place where he could be alone and work through whatever it was he could not remember, and try to piece together the puzzle.
"Y--ya Xiu. Thanks." He was clearly distracted, though he did look in the direction she pointed, watching her as she began to move off....
Mort's voice had him turning, seeing that his zombro had lifted up his pumpkin helmet enough to show his face, and Alexander made his way closer to him, hands finding their way to his pockets where the crystal fragment was firmly shoved within, and the card as well. "I'm sorry, Mort. I don't really know myself." He moved one hand up to run through his hair, trying desperately to think past the fog.
"We were gone, yes." That much was obvious, at least. Xiu had only confirmed it. "You uh...don't remember anything?" Any little bit would help, at this point.
Another voice seemed to be addressing them, calling out above the crowd and Alexander turned towards it, to see that it was an unrecognizable ghoul who was a part of Xiu's group. "Uh..Uh no, thank you for the offer." He replied, having to shout back above the noise. Alexander, being a zombie, loved food and loved to eat, and pretty much never turned down an offer to have a meal.
This was serious.

Billy was doing his best not to look like a wide-eyed hick. Especially since right about now he felt exactly like one. The freckled reaper had his hand thrust into the pockets of his baggy jeans and a newsboy hat tugged down to obscure his eyes. The few seeds he'd been given for the outing were burning a hole in his pocket as he glanced around at what he considered to be a lavish festival.
The boy was the epitome of a farmboy, flannel shirt and baggy dingy jeans, floppy cap and a face bronzed and freckled from hours in the pumpkin sun. He was a bit skinnier and shorter than one would expect for a worker, but he made up for it with the size of his familiar. A sticky lashing of webbing was afixed to his wrist, leading to the collar on a large tarantuala. Large. The size of a labrador.
"Billy this is just fab." Estelle was her name and she shuffled dutifully by his side, many eyes taking in the crowds and decor. "There's just... seeds all over the ground!" The spider had a uniquely feminine voice as judging by the bow afixed to her, she was quite the lady.
Despite the talkative and cheerful spider, Billy remained silent. In fact he seemed to shy away from curious glances, turning pink in the cheeks as people looked from the large tarantula and back to him. He sunk further and further into his flannel until he thought no one was looking, and scooped up a handful of seeds from the ground.
Estelle continued to wave her front legs in excitement, chirping, "Hello! Happy Halloween! Hello!" At every passerby she could.

He gave a nod towards the ghoul - Eira Wen, as she had called herself - and said, "Shall I call you just Eira, then, or would you prefer Eira Wen? Either way, it is lovely to make your acquaintance."
The rougher boil he gave a slightly scrutinizing look to, though it wasn't disdainful, Sparrow's eyes sweeping curiously over his lanky form as though trying to determine just what it was that the boil was. He offered him a smile as well, along with another nod, and said easily, "A pleasure, Nukpana - and yes, I'm a student here. A recently turned third year, as a matter of fact."
He rocked back on his heels, and absently gathered a handful of shadows together, idly twisting them around between his fingers. He tossed them lightly back and forth from one hand to the other, and then said, "I assume the both of you are students as we - "
But he was interrupted by the sound of a familiar, smooth voice and the arrival of a familiar black and green cat.
"Jack!" said Sparrow delightedly, reaching out to pat the cat on the arm in greeting, smiling brightly at him. "Glad to see you're all right, friend."
He gestured towards the two in front of them.
"Jack, this is Eira Wen and Nukpana. Eira Wen and Nukpana, this is Jack, a good friend of mine."

Me? Trouble? Of course not.
<< Good, because though I've only been gone a few minutes, I would hate to see - >>
There was a small pause in which Gale could almost hear the loudness of his heartbeat above the crowd, and he stood stock still, one hand raised, fingers lightly wrapped around Eva's wrist to keep from losing track of her. Vaguely he could hear her mumble "Chara?" but his thoughts were distracted.
...a few minutes?
<< Yes? Though I see we are finally out of the Haunted House. What happened? Did your illustrious leader pull you out? >>
The realization sunk into him like a stone.
He didn't know. Jinhai did not know what had happened at the end of the Haunted House. Gale did not understand why, or what he was supposed to tell him - especially considering he knew of the importance of Ceres' weapon to his own.
<< Gale? What's' wrong? >>
Nothing. Nothing's wrong. I'm just glad you're back, is all.
<< As am I. >>
Beside him, Eva was sniffling (in a very manly way), and Gale squeezed her wrist reassuringly, probably looking a little ridiculous doing it, since he was not even up to the height of her shoulders and she was a tall, muscular demon crying into her hands.
"I ******** HATE LIFE."
Gale turned, caught sight of...a gnome...and then tilted his head to give Jude a questioning look. The voice sounded familiar, and for a moment, he couldn't quite place it.
Then he realized just who it was, gave the gnome another look, and cleared his throat, grateful for the distraction.
"I, ah...nice golem, Robert. Looks like you've, uh...shrunk a little."

The festival was not where Ren had thought he would be, not really, considering that he did not much feel up to celebrating or doing anything that required making a significant effort. It was not as though he were not in a good mood - in fact, Ren was more relaxed than he had been in days - but he felt weary and tired and he had waffled back and forth for several hours before finally deciding that he would come and hopefully LW would be convinced to come as well.
But for the moment, however, he was alone, and as he walked, he slipped his hands into the pockets of his pants, unusually subdued. His wings fluttered against his back, a few striped feathers drifting off, and then settled down neatly against his shoulder blades, tail flicking against his legs.
Lost in thought, he did not see that he was about to run into someone until he actually did. Shoulder bumping into someone that was standing nearby, Ren stumbled a little, and then turned around, lifting a hand.
"Sorry about that," he said apologetically, "I - "
But then he stopped, blinked, and took a sharp breath, the figure in front of him undeniably familiar - though it had been too long. He did not know how to face her, what to say, or what he should have said so long ago.
For a few moments, Jason thought he was back at fright night. There were tons of scary things around, everyone was shouting and cheering, and of course, he was in a tiny a** golem with a pair of tits. What was the obsession with putting him in a tiny golem with tits?
Oh well, it wasn't that large of a problem - At least he was considered alive this time, no pieces of bone or rotten flesh to be seen. But he did have a rather fluffy tail and a pair of ears. He guessed that he was some sort of cat monster.
Pushing his gender concerns away for now, Jason's eyes followed the line of halloweeners, all moving in single file towards the throng of others. They seemed to be carrying some sort of lantern with a eerie glowing light. The light sent shivers down his spine. With another glance around, he followed the crowed until he reached the middle of a town square. A large fountain could easily be seen, filled with a ominous green liquid. But what had his attention was the large pumpkin next to it. All the monsters were dumping the green light into it.
But that was only half of it. Jason began to realize that everyone around him was singing. And they were singing with such enthusiasm and energy that it was hard not to be captivated by such a event.
'Boys and girls of every age wouldn't you like to see something strange...'
The lyrics were sung in rising voices, each denizen of halloween jumping and prancing about with every new word. He had to duck as ghosts flew over his head, and held his ears when the pumpkins began screaming. Fear and adrenalin coursed through him, as well as a sense of excitement. What was going to happen next?
Suddenly, everyone became silent, and he turned towards the center again, watching the large pumpkin and wondering what was-
BOOOOOOM.
Jason screamed when the pumpkin exploded, stumbling backwards. Through his terror he was able to see that items were falling from the sky. Pumpkin seeds, and it seemed that everyone was keen to grab as many as they could get. He ignored them, not having a clue as to what they were and not really caring. But with all the excitement, he took a few steady breaths and, somehow, let himself relax. Everyone was out having fun, not looking for a bloodbath. Perhaps he should go and have some fun himself?
It was then felt a presence behind him. Not a hostile one, but one that was friendly, and very familiar. Feathers briefly brushed his back, and a clawed hand clasped him on the shoulder, a reassuring gesture that assured him he was not alone anymore. There was a gasp when he felt the click, of something sliding back into place.
The voice echoed in his head once more.
'I'll have to fill you in later...'
'I am now.'

Billy glanced around making sure no one was looking directly at them, more for the ghoul's sake than anything, before he crouched down and snuck himself under the table next to her. Her look like she was at a loss made him frown slightly. "Awwww c'mon. I'm Billy remember? Fright Night?" He offered in a somewhat gentle pleading tone. This ghoulie was so shy he was hoping he could help her feel more at ease. He was starting to appreciate her choice of hiding place though, and snatched a bit of food from the table above them, offering her one while eating one himself. "How have you been?" he asked.

Hel had just been glowering off to the side after Freya returned the favor and decked her in the face too.
When the valkyrie started messing with her bro though, Hel leapt back into action. The younger valkyrie swatted at Freya’s scissor hands, and then started to shove her away from Shun. “Cut it out you Jacking pest! Leave him alone! Go molest your boil toy with those stupid—“ Hel then got an idea, and she looked over at Kettil, her grin turning wide and malicious.
“Hey Kettil ~” She cooed. “…Did you wanna know what Freya and I were texting our the other day in our language…?”

Victoria had followed the crowd over after returning from the ToTer "scare trip" to the human world; this was the first time she was spending Halloween at the Town Hall, and to say that she was excited would be an understatement. Although she missed her Matron and many, many sisters, she felt like a real adult, being out here. All alone. By herself... Alright, maybe this was a little overwhelming for her.
When someone shoved her aside, she whimpered, trying to stop herself from being pushed all the way to the back. When that failed, she decided to float upwards in order to peer over the heads of the people gathered, her eyes on the glowing pumpkin in the middle. When it exploded, she gasped in surprise and delight, enjoying the feel of Fear in the air.
It was then she noticed the free silver pumpkin seeds, and the free buffet.
Free.
Her face lit up, and she immediately made her way over to the buffet table, wondering if there was a way to pack some food, and take it back with her to her room; no point wasting free food, right? As a ghost, it wasn't possible for her to experience hunger, but she still enjoyed looking at - and eating - food as a way to replenish her Fear.
Besides, it was free.
She was so going to write fan fiction about this day.
She, like Grendel, seemed to pine for the witches attention. Her needs differed slightly, less primal and more curious, but all the same Natalia's focus was centered on her. Only her. That is, until the boil spoke up.
And then Natalia hiked a blue brow in surprise, looked him over, and then grinned approvingly.
Her own hand, a deceiving color of white that was extremely warm to the touch, extended forward to grab ahold of his firmly. She quickly twisted it in her cusp, keeping her eyes on his, before leaning in and placing a kiss upon it's back. His charm was evident. She had forgotten what it was like to meet new people with equally challenging personalities.
And it had been a long time she had graced her skin with the touch of another's. Whisper... "Natalia." Was all she said, but her eyes seemed to say more...much more. She was delighted to meet a new face, and intrigued by him. Seduction often did that to the monster. With eyes lidded the ghoul released him and moved back with the same smile exposing her fanged teeth. She tossed her bangs back with a hand, and let her gaze fall from his to find the witches.
Natalia wondered if it would ring bells for the other ghoul. That had met before...once...at some point...it must have happened. Or at the very least Natalia knew she had seen the ghoul around. Tilting her head to meet with the witch's again, lips parted and ready to speak, the monster barely took in a good breath before she was knocked back several paces. "Hey!" She spat angrily without looking, catching herself first before spinning around.
A kiss.
It was the first thing that came to mind when Natalia saw, and knew, who it was. They had shared in many, but the last she could remember was a vicious one. An angry one. And it had been a long time since the were-lemur had set eyes on his growing, golden hair and those freckles...so sweet. He looked at a loss words, outside of her own name being said. And oh, how glorious it was to hear his voice release her, to say what it was she loved to hear. It was the voice she had unknowingly longed for, and for so very long. It reminded her of days before this...of good ones, and of bad. And then of neutral and strange ones, as of recent times. How exactly did she feel?
Angry?
Sad?
Pained?
Love?
Natalia had missed him. She had missed him dreadfully. She had missed everything about the relationship they had shared...But with the absence of the gryphon for so long, the monster didn't know what would be the same and what would never be again. Renaissance was standing there before her as real as the Fear that draped over the crowd...it had been a long time coming.
She took a step forward, and then another. At first slow and uncertain but soon quick. Without hesitation. With hunger. She came upon Ren in a storm of white skin, deep blue hair and glowing orange eyes and stopped short of ramming into him with her bosoms. Practically nose to nose, the monster lingered for a moment. She bore a sinister grin, with her brows narrowed in a mixture of anger and suspicion...Her gaze dropped, looked the boil over, before rising up to meet with his again. Then her hand reached for his shoulder and picked off the feather that had fallen upon it. Placing it against her nose, the ghoul shut her eyes and took a step back; inhaling deeply. From her lips she purred,
"Renaissance..."

"Hello! Happy Halloween!" Estelle continued to greet strangers, front legs waving slowly. Her boil, it seemed, was grumping. He only stared out from under the brim of his hat, blue eyes shyly taking in the massive occasion.
This was much more than he was used to.
After a moment, Billy spun and tugged the web leash to indicate he'd decided to walk. "Oh hmm?" Estelle chirped pleasantly and skittered to follow. "Billy this is just fantastic. Fantastic. Look at all these students! Perhaps you should ask someone about the school?" She continued to chatter on, not waiting for his responses or even expecting them. The dog-sized tarantula made enough conversation for the both of them.
Billy had his eye on the buffet. There was food here he'd never seen and it was free. Free? Somehow he was skeptical, or perhaps just concerned that he'd read the sign wrong and so he simply hovered in front of a massive cauldron full of something wriggling and his mouth curved into a confused frown.
"MISS!" Estelle, sensing the boil's distress, tapped a hovering ghost ghoul on the foot. "Oh miss. Hello! Happy Halloween!" Her mandibles curled in and out as she spoke. "Is this buffet really free?"
Billy, on the other hand, pointedly turned his face away from the cute young ghoul. She looked about as young as he did and she was wearing fancier clothes than him. Oh why was his familiar such a chatterbox?!

Ariane was towering almost everyone, which was a change; she had never gotten a golem this tall before, and it seemed like she was also wearing heels?
The hunter paused, surprised; for a moment, she thought that she was simply hearing things, because she was so used to having Kintama there with her whenever she was in a golem, visiting Halloween.
When her weapon replied her again, she felt a sense of relief, followed by so much happiness that she couldn't stop her lips from splitting into a grin; as much as she did not want to admit it, she had missed Kintama's voice... And his jokes and comments as well, as perverse as they often were.
She chuckled, and then mingled in with the crowd, wondering if there was a way to identify fellow hunters without giving herself away.

Victoria was busy piling food onto her plate - lots and lots of food of all kinds. She would probably not be able to finish it all, but nobody said anything about not being able to take the leftovers home... Which was why she continued to pile food onto her plate, although the pile was getting dangerously high.
The tap on her foot caused her to jerk upwards in surprise, resulting in some of the food items that had been piled onto her plate to go falling to the ground. A shocked silence soon followed, and she looked positively horrified.
She had wasted perfectly good food! What would her Matron say?!
Although she had meant to answer the question posed to her, Victoria couldn't help feeling slightly depressed as she stared at the food on the ground, her whole body slowly sinking; there would be so much disapproval from her Matron. So much disapproval.
