Naano had managed to get to her PC and swap out a few of her Pokemon before they started the battle. Fright was put in, and in his place she kept out Bulbs. With only being able to use a team of six Naano had no choice but to choose between either Meeko or Fluff. Already having a grass type she stored her Cottonee and allowed her Butterfree to stay in her party.
"Butterfly girl..." she grumbled under her breath. Ayato better not start with that again, she'd had too many sore feelings about the last time he said it.
Once they were ready for the battle, Naano let out her Ivysaur. "Bulbs, use poison sting and then vine whip!". Her Pokemon shot a dart of poison and then smacked at the Pupitar.

Bulbs didn't let his slowness phase his concentration. "Leech seed!". This would be a good back up, just in case. Even if the Pupitar fainted, the leech seed would work for the rest of Esme's team. "Use Growl!". A deep gurgling came from the Ivysaur's throat as it let out a raspy growl that lowered his foe's attack.

Naano squinted, but not because of the sand. That didn't bother her at all. She'd had dirt kicked in her face by a menacing drug addict who ran by the title of father, this was nothing.
The Ivysaur took in some of Pupitar's HP, smirking she decided to take another tactical move "Sleep Powder!" As Bulbs showered Shale with the sleep inducing particles, Naano called out once more "And use Take Down!"
Part of Naano believed that Esme wasn't going full force, while another believed she was. It would be silly for her to slack off. Plus, they had started this battle only minutes earlier, there was still time to sort out her hypothesis.

Naano was getting frustrated at the lack of effect Take Down had...she had forgot that it wouldn't be too effective.
"Razor leaf, then Vine Whip again! Back to back!" As Bulbs bombarded Esme's Pokemon with sharp leaves, and smacked it firmly and strongly with multiple vines it also leeched out some more of its HP.
