[Rosie, Emil, Sera]

Luke nodded at Rosie's words, "Yeah, I agree." They might not have had a whole lot of ground-breaking information to offer, but they indeed had experiences and insights unique to them. At the same time, though, the thought of actually fighting back and subduing the Rocket threat to Kodo was a little bittersweet. Once that was done, he wouldn't really have any clear reason to stay in the region. But that was a ways off yet, and the thought had little bearing on the evening. "I don't know about letting them take things over completely though," he said with a shrug and a hint of a smirk that suggested his words weren't completely serious at face value. "I mean, we've already been working hard for a long time. I'm not just gonna let these guys swoop in and deal with everything themselves." Big words from the guy who was afraid of his own sword, but he certainly wasn't planning give up any time soon because of that.

[Harvard]

"If you want," Hayes replied diffidently with a sort of one-shoulder shrug and a faint grin. "Be right back." So saying, the blond started to head through the crowd in the direction of the refreshments tables, moving in an ambling stroll that got interrupted every now and then by someone crossing his path and absently fussing with his cravat as he went.

(Asch)

Natalia blushed when they stopped and Asch took both her hands. It went away when the younger man said they should avoid Nakura though. She gave a thoughtful frown and glanced back in the direction Nakura had left then looked back at Asch. "...I'm just going to assume he's part of you know what then if you don't tell me more about why you know." It wasn't really fishing for answers though as she trusted Asch when he said to stay away from some one to know what he was talking about.

~*~*~

(Repede, Opal, Pinkie, Zorua-kid)

Maiko waved a foreleg when she saw someone who looked like a human slowly coming their way but human's didn't have tails right? Of course it could be an add on. The spider had seen those before in pictures Shizuo showed her of some of his kind of friends.

The Spinarak almost jumped when Pinkie licked her but gave an equivalent of a spider giggle then gave into her impulses to start playing with Opal's tail.

~*~*~

(Frost)

Xander's own smile grew when he spotted Frost's tiny one and he nodded. "I'm glad." The blonde glanced around then looked back to his date. "Agreed. Completely understandable because of the occasion though."

~*~*~

(No one in particular X3)

By this time, Shizuo had found his way over to the deserts and decided to stay just a while longer.

[note: Ally has permission to drag Rory to the dance floor. Lexy says its okay] So impulsive acting seems to work huh?

Who would've thought?

Ally pulled away a little bit after Rory did and looked away with embarrassment. The kiss was sweet, but she forgot they were in public, in front of a crap ton of people, and they were there to OBSERVE, not make out. But at least she did manage to convey her answer to this really good friends question, thing, whatever...But if they weren't good friends and they just kissed, what WERE they?

that was a good question.

Ally looked to Tambrey and let out a nervous giggle. She then turned to Rory and gave him a cheeky grin, blush still there, but fading with her spontaneous confidence spurt that came out of nowhere it seemed. She knew what she wanted to say and damn it she was going to say it this time and not be afraid. She wanted to ask this privately and avoid any embarrassment, so she grabbed Rory's hand and waved to Tambrey and Kratos in apology.

"Follow me!"

Was all she said before she started dragging the poor man to what she thought would be the dance floor. perhaps she could get in some observations while she was at to...

[Tambrey]

"Hn," Kratos murmured as he watched the young lady drag her beau off in another direction. The young redhead's method of declaring her intent reminded him a great deal of Anna - who had not merely kissed him out of seemingly nowhere but had also dragged him up on stage with her to ask him out. Clearly this was something in a similar vein.

Turning to Tambrey, Kratos lifted an eyebrow slightly. "It seems they'll be busy for a while," he said, which was a bit of an understatement to his mind but no less accurate for it. There was no mistaking the amusement that colored his voice, either.

That blond probably didn't know what hit him.

Kratos certainly hadn't when Anna had pulled her similar trick.

(Seto)

Tymiko was already getting grass stains on her dress shirt, but it seemed she was more familiar with lying on the ground than wearing formal clothing.

"I know," she answered him gently. "I just didn't at the time. I wasn't the same person then, living a sheltered life with my family at home. But your life doesn't seem to have changed much. At least not for the better."

The water trainer neglected to mention that she barely hung on to the idea that she had a family, let alone that she couldn't remember their names or faces. To the child who used forgetfulness as an escape from the harshness of reality, she too felt that the memory of Seth on TV came from a different lifetime.

Sitting up at Kaiba's forgiving statement, the child decided to prod a little at the main concern that she was sure was on the man's mind. Just a little at a time. She knew she couldn't fully distract him from his thoughts anyway, and if she got him to talk about it at least, maybe it would help.

"I knew this guy named Roka," she began, as if bringing up a completely irrelevant story. "He was one out of four children in his family, but he was the only boy. Since his family was very traditional, they expected him to be the next heir and take care of the responsibility." Here she paused to pick up a stick and draw little figures in the dirt by the dim light of the stars.

"He accepted his fate at a young age, but even then, he had his own dreams. Hopeless dreams, but dreams. And then one day, he met this person that changed his life." Ty paused, wondering if Kaiba would see how he could start to relate. "It shattered his perspective of a set path and made him want to create his own. So he did. But then that person let him down, back-stabbing him, and then he had no path."

She sighed sadly, as if she were empathizing with the young man she spoke of. "Then he didn't know what to do. He tried to go back to his old life, but it never was the same. It didn't satisfy him from then on, and he wanted more. He couldn't have that person back, but he learned something important."

Tymiko picked up the stick and waved it in the air, as if she were a school teacher conducting a lesson to a class of trees and shrubbery. "That even though he thought he made a mistake, he also had gained some valuable insight on realizing his path wasn't set. He also realized that he didn't need others to make his own. And he became stronger because of it."

She twisted around to look behind her and smiled at Seto. "I think you're getting to where he did. Still suffering an in pain...but if you can overcome that, you'll be so much stronger for it." Not like her. Not when her emotions and memories of the past made her so weak that she couldn't handle life. At least she sincerely hoped that Kaiba needed as extreme a coping mechanisim as she did to survive.

(Repede, Mako, Pinkie Pie, Opal)

The mysterious kid in blue started when he heard the bark behind him. He hadn't expected to be followed. What now...? Friend or foe? Worried that the Growlithe planned to expose him before he carried out his plan, the boy frowned and made small, shooing motions, doing his best not to draw attention to himself.

(Weidman, Faleen)

When he wanted, Izaya could lay on the flattery thick. Maybe too thick. He suddenly began to worry he was overdoing it. It had to just be the after-effects of his relief upon finally being reunited with his partner. He'd thought his negative emotions were getting the best of him, but it seemed his positive ones were starting to overwhelm him too. He really had to remember to keep his outward appearance in check.

"Yes, well...at least he was only a relatively new acquisition," he sighed. "Some people I know have lost their life-long friends to these bandits. It's been awful." Yeah, right...life-long friends. As if. Still, it was all for the sake of appearances. And it paid off almost immediately.

Business cards were nice. Much more reliable than having to try to memorize everything one knew about a person. Sometimes even having to use that information to track them down whatever way was possible if it wasn't enough on its own, usually involving the Internet. He accepted the card from Weidman gratefully and studied the print. "That's very kind of you, sir. It's very assuring to have a direct contact to the League. You won't believe how tough it is to get the police around here to even listen to a 911 call. They're so busy running around."

He resisted the very tempting notion of going home immediately and calling the number to report what he knew of his 'mugger'. It would be far too obvious that he was desperate for the ex-bartender to die. If he waited a few days, he could pretend he just happened to come across the card again and decided to give it a try. No, wait - maybe days was too soon.

But Weidman was speaking again. To Faleen. What was his question, now? Er...better let Faleen answer. It would have been awkward if he did all the talking. He had talked enough already.

[Catherine]

The information which the grunt revealed was quite important, despite how it was camouflaged amongst much in-character detailing. This grunt had been watching carefully by herself, no mentioned disturbances.

Of course, the sentence meant that Kunai's expression had to shift from a seemingly pleased one to a shocked one, mouth gasping in a bit of air as her opened her eyes wider. There was no Brandon, of course, but now he was also a character in all of this. The shock was given maybe about 10 seconds of attention in her expression before the girl forced her face to meld into something a bit more angry with a hint of childish concern.

"I am sooooo kicking Brandon's butt the next time I see him... that's mean! Why in the world make any promises if you can't keep them?!"

"Hey Shrimpy-pie? Who ya talkin' to? She sounds haaaawt!"

On the other end of her earpiece, a certain computer hacker finally decided to speak up, sounding rather eager.

Kunai rolled her eyes and then huffed into the microphone dangling along the wire "Robbie... I wasn't talking to you! Angie's here... and Brandon was a dumb-dumb and didn't show up!"

"I know you can hear me... COME ON... you can talk to me without pretending I'm your boyfriend... I know I'm sexy... but we all know I can't get aroused by you, Shrimpy-pie!"

1337's words once again seemed to go ignored as the pink-haired girl grunted out "At least you were considerate enough to tell me you couldn't come..." She swiveled slightly on the balls of her feet and didn't hesitate to clasp the taller girl's hands.

"Are you okay, Angie? I think we should live it up to make up for epic boy-fail!" It wasn't so much a sincere desire to make Angie, the character, feel better as it was a prompt to go interact with the groups of people. One could only gather so much by observing from afar...

(Kratos, with a small bit to the retreating Ally/Rory couple)

Tambrey smiled and waved back as Ally led Rory away, then snorted slightly as Kratos made his remark.
"If I didn't think I was startin' t' know you better, I'd have picked that out f'r a joke..." She replied to him, almost matching his expression with the raised eyebrow, before looking back out to watch the young couple's progress for a few moments.
"Good f'r them. 'S a pretty good venue f'r it too; memorable."
Rockets or not, they were young and human and this was a fancy, formal, out door event; it was pretty much tailored to be 'date friendly', she guessed.

[HI ALL U POKEYMANZ!]

Opal's ear twitched slightly, and for a moment she glanced away, only catching a darkish blur nearby. Of course, that got interrupted as she was given a rather wonderful lick to the top of her head. It was a surprise, which made her tail puff up slightly, but the false Eevee was soon enough churring out content "Vees" and returning her attention back to the pink one. Playfully, she bounced in place for a bit, not seeming to mind as a spider seemed to fuss with the fur of her momentary tail.

Now that Opal had one, two, three... well, there had been 3 friends, but it seemed that Repede-friend had wandered off for a bit, the white Pokemon yipped out an invitation to the pink ponyta to come play with them. The albino wasn't short of volume, so other Pokemon nearby might have heard her invitation as well.

[Tymiko]

Seth huffed at Tymiko's comment about his life not changing for the better. "Aren't you astute," he muttered, before the girl launched into a story. One that he doubted was actually true the more he listened, and was instead meant for his benefit. However, the man was oddly silent, even after she had finished. His eyelids drooped as he watched her draw the sticks in the dirt, then looked away, a light frown on his face.

"Perhaps..." he said at least. "But I don't think your friend's situation and mine are quite the same." This drew a sigh from him and he closed his eyes, leaning back to rest his head against the tree, brows furrowed as his head continued to throb painfully.

[Blue Boy and Pokemanz]

Repede didn't move at the shooing motion, and didn't even stare at the boy's face, instead his gaze was directed at the exact place where the scent was most concentrated. There was something suspicious here. He sat and turned to look in the direction of his human, who was still talking with Ivory. He gave a sharp bark, and this instantly drew Yuri's attention his way.

"What's up, Repede?" the man called from a distance.

[Ally]

He looked to the pair that had been talking with them, to gauge their reactions to what had just happened between himself and the small red head that was by his side. He had enjoyed the kiss, no matter how unexpected it had been.

Before the blond could say anything to either of them, he felt a small hand slip into his and start to tug him in the direction of the dance floor. Not really understanding what was happening, he went along willingly. Maybe Ally had gotten into the champagne, too? But she seemed a little young to drink, right?

"You do know that I don't really know how to dance, right?" he asked as he moved in front of her.

[ALL the Pokemon]

The pink horse grinned in her own way as she watched the little white Pokemon bounced slightly. Pinkie wondered what kind of game they would be interested in playing and restlessly trotted in place. Hopefully the tiny one's loud call would bring more friends to them.

[Yuri + Jason]

The mention of the Rockets in other regions did manage to stir up one foggy memory in Ivory's mind. Which she wasn't about to keep to herself.

"...when I was a kid... the Rockets took over Goldenrod City... where I grew up... I don't really remember much about it... but I remember it happened... but I'm pretty sure you already knew that..." the last comment being pointedly directed to Jason.

With a half shrug, she couldn't help but utter "...maybe I should check in with mom..." a hint of concern lingering on her breath. However, she shook her head slightly before she could dwell too long.

Maybe another day

With that, she mentioned "...if you could check about a card with larger font... that'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you." She turned to face Yuri for a moment, offering him a smile that seemed to hint that they should go get some more food.

That was until Yuri seemed to home in on Repede. "...hmm?"

[Natalia]

At Natalia's words, Asch said nothing. He seemed to be satisfied though and released her hands. The red head sighed and put his hand to his head in exasperation. Why did Izaya have to always be around when he was the least wanted? Not that Asch EVER wanted him around. He wouldn't mind if the dreck just dropped off the face of the planet.

Speaking of drecks... Asch heard a familiar voice and looked up to see Luke and his entourage nearby. Great.

[Ivory + Jason]

As Ivory spoke, Yuri looked at her and blinked in astonishment. "Whoa wait. Took over a city?" They could do that? Apparently this was more serious than he had initially thought. He'd heard mention of stealing Pokemon, killing and kidnapping people.. but taking over entire cities? Damn.

His startled expression soon faded when Ivory thanked Jason and then turned an expectant smile on him. Placing a hand on his hip, the man smirked knowingly. It was Yuri's duty now to be Ivory's private butler!

But then Repede caught his attention. "Back in a sec," he told her, before walking in the Growlithe's direction to see what was going on.

[Tambrey]

Kratos' only response to Tambrey's comment about him and jokes was to blink at her, keeping his expression calm. Let her make of that what she wished. From what he could see of Rory and Ally, the two seemed to be doing well. Tambrey made a comment about the venue, and he nodded slightly. "It is," he said, folding his arms.

Fortunately, the change in posture didn't make him look out of place so much as like an introvert dragged along to a gathering that he wasn't entirely comfortable with visiting. Which... more or less described him as he had been the last time he visited one of these formal parties. It wasn't entirely inaccurate to how he felt about such things now, either.
