°°° [ H ] ana Ξ [ S ] hizūmi °°° Chōhime | Jūnibantai Taichō | Technician »Neither Commander said a word, not as she hinted to her distaste for them, nor as Raiku dropped his little bombshell, nor as people began speaking in droning, pointless ways. Hana remained sessile, giving Raiku the stank eye, and doing her level best to appear to be ignoring the newly arrived Captain.
The fact that neither Commander felt the urge to intercede and respond to blatant addresses borne at them, was worrying. Either they felt nothing could be gained from responding to the very real concerns of similarly appointed officers, which would imply a certain disregard for the collective input of military officials, or they simply did not know how to respond, which implied a percentage of inadequacy as leaders. Then again, Hana herself thought almost everyone in the room was one form of neanderthal or another, so she could in some ways sympathize with the former. That didn't mean none of them could voice a small, brilliant little idea every now and again. For example, Shadow had proposed a secondary set of measures. Plus, several others supported the notion that even foot soldiers were an asset.
"Sure thing, Lieutenant Muyo," she voiced in little more than a grunt, a grin mutating her cherubic facade.
If he wanted her to step in and lend some assistance, that was just as well. Perhaps it had something to do with whatever he was hiding in his office. Hana had chosen to avoid messing with the squad's Lieutenant prior to her promotion for distinct reasons: she'd been keeping her head down, doing highly confidential work and keeping herself relatively hidden from the world at large. For the most part, Hana had wanted to be left well enough alone, particularly after the Captaincy opened up, and as old rumors surfaced about her past. Next to no one in the squad actually knew her or of her, which she had zealously protected. Barging into Shadow's office or his network might have sorely thwarted that effort.
Whatever it was still happened to be occupying a percentage of power which she had happily noticed.
From the corner of her eyes, she had also registered the presence of the very young blonde boy investing his attention in antagonizing the newly-arrived man in a haori. Hana knew about the transfer, but she still had the unique pleasure of finding his presence grating. He didn't seem to notice her, or really much of anyone else, but his efforts to hit the arrival with rubber band bullets set her on edge. She didn't want this nostalgia-bearing child to notice her. Much less recognize her. If he did, the results could prove to be disastrous-for her and for those invested in her many secrets.
"That sounds like something that would be done by meditating under a waterfall," she voiced, moving towards the raven-haired man in a subtle attempts to put some bodies in the child's line of sight.
This man with hair like sharp coal and a scarf flush across his mouth seemed brash, by her standards. She wondered briefly if it was a character trait or an effect of youth, although she honestly could not for the life of her recognize him. Most notable members of the army managed to fall under her attention at some point or another. Yet this man was entirely unfamiliar to her. He was a stranger. He had said Viki, however, which she took via reference to mean Viki Foi of the Seventh. To think he had killed her.
"Welcome, sir, to the ranks of Captain-killers," she said, Hana slipped her small hand down around the stalk of her cane, lifted it, and swung it out behind her in a shallow mock-bow. "We'll have to send for a plaque once you decide to formally introduce yourself."
Those whom knew her and her full name likely realized how bemusing and rare it was for a Noble Head of her rank to show any form of subservience, even when made in jest. Sarcastic bows were still bows, and her words might seem harshly direct to most. How would this man respond to the welcome of an apparent child-one whom stood upon the air with a misshapen cane in hand, white hair flowing down her back and black bangs framing her face? Certainly she didn't look or dress the part of Captain, and as she had but just started her own campaign that day, it was doubtful he knew of her.
"We doubtless all know of the concepts of good and evil. We have heard of virtue and sin, too. Both words live on the tongues of religious heretics and in the lessons we learned very early on as children. The logic that beings embodying the seven sins will only be killed by beings embodying the virtues which would overturn them is sound," Hana laced her fingers together over the horn of her cane. "That itself is hard to argue. However you are speaking of very personal things, things that are best found in the mind and soul of an individual. It is not the scientific process which will shed light on the matter. Being a virtue is not a disease detected in the genetic structure of a being, or divined by studying the cerebellum. It is very clearly a truth found with great intrapersonal study possibly spanning a lifetime. All of you, Lieutenant Muyo included, are warned away from pestering the Institute with this pursuit. It's folly to reason a computed axial tomography might determine something so abstract."
"Now, unless you want a lecture on the merits of separating space and matter from a single plane, I seem to have little reason to stand here laboring to be seen and heard but the stubborn and blind," she turned a hard look upon the newly instated Captain Commander. "I still have the pleasure of another meeting in an hour, surgical responsibilities to several victims from the last time the sins rampaged in this world, the alluring task of finding a plausible way to eliminate our enemy without further damage to our own forces, obligations to my squad and several diagnostics to run on the defense system. Since no one has offered much else in the way of an offensive-or at least nothing you're interested in entertaining, I daresay we're done here. Let's wrap this up. I want a cigarette."«[Exits to]
(OOC: I certainly hope the argument's over with. Unless someone does something to violate guild rules or general writing etiquette(this is a matter of interpretation or misinterpretation, as it were) there shouldn't be discussions like this. The entire crew will thank you to keep it out of an in-character thread when it exceeds one post each. Opti's on vacation til the 16th, if I recall, which may or may not explain his current absence. I'll pester him into thinking of or writing a post on the side after meals or before bed or something. I'd really hoped him or Mochii might have posted before I needed to, but for the sake of keeping people from having a minor fit, here's some filler. Sorry for the delay. I told several people I would be visiting a friend this weekend and would post yesterday, but things didn't pan out, so I fell asleep. ^^")

Raiku Sato Squad 10 Captain Raiku looked at the new Captain with a hint of distain. He despised people who killed their own teammates simply to gain power of any sort. Raiku then looked at Yuki and gave a reassuring smile. He was hoping he could ease tensions about his revelation of keeping hollows in captivity. Raiku then turned his head and listened as Hana spoke and nodded his head. Raiku knew that their would be some way of telling who was a virtue and that they wouldnt have to capture the Taizai and use them as pinatas until someone finally killed them. Raiku then leaned over to where Hana and whispered so only she could hear. "Hey Hana, can I talk to you after this meeting? I might have an idea." Raiku had decided to formulate a contingency plan on his own. The new Head Captain seemed indecisive and Raiku wanted to make sure to have a way to fallback if they needed to retreat from Sokyoku Hill. He wasnt going to let anybody's lives get risked because of some idiot's plan.

 Hiddan Bellias
Squad Seven Captain
"I Only Offer Peace Once." Hiddan smiled and decided to speak. "It seems many of you do not like me simply on the grounds of me killing my former Captain. Its part of the Seireitei code that it is allowed, a code as a Captain, you are to defend. But know one thing. I do not care what any of your opinions of me are. I am here as a captain, to be used by the Head Captain as a tool to defend the Seireitei with my life. Dislike me as you may, but know this. You, in the end, are the same. A captain to be used in order to preserve peace. And when you become weakened like she had, a member of your squad will kill you as well. If your enemy does not succeed first." He stated. Hiddan was done trying to please these people, if they wanted to be the exact opposite of what they were supposed to defend, let them. Anyone who disliked him was nothing but a hypocrite.

: . ______________ xx➠ ______----Rɩn Ichimaru XXXXXXXXXXXXXX▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ XXXXXI was only playing... XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXDon't people on this world have fun??? Location: Captain's Hall Those Nearby: Axzaki, Akane and other ranked Shinigami What am I doing?: following and spectating Thoughts:
┌------------------------------------------------------------┐ ___ In all this.... that fox-like smirk remained across his lips. He snickered at Hiddan's statement. ||Silly...|| "Is it really 'cause ya killed your cap'n?" Rin asked, Someone not of captain or lieutenant's rank let alone completely unranked should have no voice in the captain's hall... but what was anyone going to do? As far as they know Rin is just a little kid who doesn't know any better. True that he is less than a decade of age however Rin did pick up on some of his father's intellect, it just so happens his childishness often hides it. So what if he were to get scolded for 'interrupting' an important meeting, all it took was a flash of his big azure blue eyes and maybe a glass over of tears and he could easily turn people to putty... figuratively speaking.
εїзwhitewhiteεїзwhitewhiteεїз
"Yeah it's lawful ta kill a cap'n an' take their place... but did ya even botha' ta' think first?" the boy asked, his voice held a Kyoto accent which often comes off as mild slang, like his father he was rather polite yet his tone seemed somewhat mocking. "Its also common for a squad ta be more than loyal ta their cap'n... don'cha think yer squad is any bit disheartened? Ordinarily tha' wouldn't be much of a problem but... The Seireitei seems ta be facin' some kinda crisis, no?" Whether anyone wanted to confirm it or not Rin had a point, yes Shinigami should be prepared to deal with death, but the truth is not everyone is, its quite common for unexpected deaths to have effect on squad members and not usually in a positive way
"I donno this Viki person but... I'm sure she had friends with Shinigami outside of squad seven, so not only is your unit affected but various squad members throughout the Seireitei. So now we've got a crisis and a bunch of soldiers who may or may not be completely useless dependin' on how they deal wit' grief." he explained.
"Soul Reapers are supposed ta be able ta deal wit' unexpected death, but les' be honest, though people in mournin' can be capable of operatin' they tend ta get reckless. An' now wit the last head cap'n's death itsa burden on all the Seireitei. Taichou an' Fukutaichou now have ta carry a lot of the burden of their squads wit the loss pf the head cap'n... an with anoth'a cap'n dead, members outside of yer squad are as dead weight to their own squad, an if yer squad proves ta be useless durin' these upcommin' battles its the other squads an' cap'ns who gotta pick up the slack. Frankly you jus' have the worst timing, all things considered do ya really think it's unreasonable for ya to bear the resentment of othas havin jus' became a cap'n?" Rin inquired. Just because he's young and a brat, and wasn't paying much attention to most of the meeting didn't mean everything went over his head
(( Blurb xD ))

 Hiddan Bellias
Squad Seven Captain
"I Only Offer Peace Once." Hiddan smiled again. "If any Captain is unable to do his duty just because one Shinigami died. Then they aren't really worthy of the title now are they. There was a man who I admire greatly, Kenpachi Zaraki. Always able to do his duty. And see the fun in battle, kid you may think you have a point. But you have years upon years of growing up to do. And you may live to see that potential you may or may not possess. To me, bloodlines and heritage means nothing. If you do not have the drive to train. And if you had that drive to train. You would not be attempting to get a rise out of captains." He stated. From this kids arrogant yet ignorant smile and intellect, he had to derive he was the son of Gin Ichimaru. [OOC: Could you quit quoting me?]

------X----X-Axzaki Heroki-X----X------ Captain of Squad3 "Do we really Need to fight...." Axzaki aka GinAxzaki listened to the back and forth of the two and became quite annoyed. He didn't hold nothing against Hiddan. he won and defeated Viki, big whoop she died. Axzaki looked down to Rin and sighed, then hearing Hiddan reply. Was this a joke, a adult arguing with a kid. Now professional. He opened his eyes a little and became quite humble, but yet annoyed at them."please you two...stop before I have to force you to stop."he said in a calm but serious tone. He was already dealing with the lost of his adoptive dad/ Head Captain, wasn't that enough. He then looked down to Rin"Please Little Rin can you leave the man alone."he then looked to Hiddan"he is a kid ya know..and since he under my squad protection, so just leave the kid alone. Also let act serious, don't let his words bother you. Did you not do your job as a opponent to a captain?"he asked, to bring some sense back into the situation. this way Hiddan can at least acknowledge someone understands what he did. "....because i would rather have tea"

 Hiddan Bellias
Squad Seven Captain
"I Only Offer Peace Once." Hiddan smiled as a wild look entered his eyes. "Force me to stop? You control your squad members, you do not control other Captains, trying to do so is only an insult to me and next time, it will no be forgiven. As far as killing Former Squad 7th Captain Viki. Yes, I killed her after challanging her respectfully as was and is the code of the Sereitei. So I am justified in my position. But getting back to what really matters." He stated as he leaned against the backwall. He was so sick of this pointless fighting.

------X----X-Axzaki Heroki-X----X------ Captain of Squad3 "Do we really Need to fight...." Axzaki aka GinAxzski smiled back as he looked at Hiddan"You're right..you're right my friend. I do control my squad and my squad alone."he stated, and then closed his eyes just a little"But when it comes to my comrades and those under me as those in my squad..I have no choice but to play as their guardian for it is my job, so all I ask s for you to back down."he said with a easy reply. He wasn't the type to boast of his power and how strong he was, but rather to let someone know that he would rather not get to that point. Even if it was with another captain. He sighed hoping this would end the bickering with them or just the conversation period so it wouldn't drag out. He face palmed himself with his right hand as it slowly slid down his face and he looked around the room. Then to the others"Any who my friends...we know that a time of war is coming and this time its a live or die situation..I just ask are you guys ready?"he said calmly, waiting for the others reply. "....because i would rather have tea"

Jutaku Kira Kori Squad 10 Seat 4 OCC: N/A Jutaku stood there, he could sense the tension. He knew that the conversations between the captains that was going on now would decide the fate of all in the Soul Society. Just listening Jutaku knew that he had better listen well. Knowing that he should pay close attention because he would have to remember everything. Jutaku payed full attention to all that was said, that was until his stomach growled, after that little action, all of Jutaku's attention was on how much longer things would go on.

Aya lowered her head, trying to tune out the argument now ensuing in the meeting hall. But as she knelt there beside her captain, she suddenly heard a stomach growl and turning her head, she realized it was the fourth seat's stomach. Looking up at him now, Aya smiled a little. "Don't worry, I'll make sure to give you some food once this meeting is over." the third seat whispered, winking at Jutaku.
