Kishin Egg



The Kishin Egg did not try and counter the dark spikes. Hundreds of them impaled it. As they did, time seemed to slow down. The Kishin Egg's nightmares began to leak from it.

The entire landscape changed and suddenly everyone was standing in a dusty, walled courtyard. Stones and sharpened sticks littered the ground. In the middle of the courtyard were 10 small children, no more than 7 or 9. Their clothes were torn and dirty. One of them was Eric. Their eyes were wide with fright as a cruel looking man with tattered armor stood before them."We have dragged you here today out of the gutters, the abandoned builds and the crumbling basements you vermin call home. And we have called you here for one reason: to entertain. You will be the new stock that satisfies the bloodthrist of the crowd in the arenas. You will live and die as murderers. From now on, that is your fate." The cruel man gave a smirk. "But, it seems my...."recruiters" were overeager. They brought ten of you. I only need one." He looked around at the scared children. But I'm much too busy to solve this problem, so you will do it for me. I will depart momentarily and when I return only one of you should still be breathing. Any more than that and you will all be fed to the dogs." The man promptly spun and walked off, disappearing through a dark archway. The scared children stood wide-eyed, looking around at each other. The scene faded to black.

A new scene appeared, once again in the courtyard. Nine children lay dead. Only one remained standing, covered in wounds. It was Eric. As the man returned the little boy stood still, looking at the ground, his bangs covering his expression. The boy was shaking and tears rolled down his face but no sound came from him. The man stood over him with a satisfied smile. "I can't say you're the one I was expecting, but there must be something to you. That was called a battle royale. It will be the first of many for you. Now..." the man knelt down, putting one hand on the boy's shoulder. "We are not done here. You have one more task. You will consume their souls. This is another first in which there will be many. You will consume their souls, because I own yours.

The scene faded and returned to reality. Time sped up back to normal as the Kishin Egg's eyes widened and the black spikes finished piercing it. It took several steps backwards with a strange look on its face. Suddenly, it collapsed falling on its back into the dirt. It lay there, breathing heavily, staring at the dark sky.



The phantom image of the human Eric appeared, standing over the dying Kishin Egg. "I get it now," he said. "I know why you came here. You came here to die; to defy everything you hate so much and die fighting it." The phantom Eric turned to look at everyone. "I'm sorry. Charlotte, I dragged you into this when I asked you to restore my seal. The Kishin Egg, Eric, it hated being enslaved and controlled more than anything. But you can't defy a concept.

You can't fight an idea. But when you sealed me again, it displaced that hate onto you. Just because you were something that could represent that confinement. Something it could attack. I know that's not what you meant...it does too but...." the Phantom Eric trailed off. "It wanted to die on its own terms fighting for its own cause. Free." Eric turned and looked back at the Kishin Egg. "That's why you wanted out of the seal so badly. I thought you wanted to be free to go on a rampage but you came straight here. You didn't expect Dara to follow you and you knew that in the dimension of nightmares you could fight Charlotte and defy me." He turned to Charlotte. "Do you....understand?" He asked.

"If you can't be number one by yourself,"

Dara stood in shock as the events unfolded before her. No one would let her fight this whole time, always telling her to move out the way or telling her she could not do anything for her partner. Now she had to experience one of the most terrifuing things in her life. She was confused and lost in all thought. She gripped her head as it throbbed in pain and equated onto the ground. She didn't want this to have ever happened. She wished she could reverse time. She wish she stayed in that classroom. She wish she had stopped them.

"then surround yourself with strong friends, and be number one together."

Yami sighed and sat on the ground. This kid takes a long time to die. he muttered to himself and damon rolled his eyes. The death scythe stood and walked over to dara and sat beside her. Young one, what ails you? he asked with a gentle voice.

The Kishin Egg craned its neck to look up at the phantom Eric. "Don't talk as if you understand. You are not me. You are just another warden.

"Yeah...I thought so too," said Eric. "But that's not true either. I am you. We both agreed, remember? I was a dream. I am a dream. Your dreams. The only thing the arenas couldn't take away from you. The only part of you they couldn't break," he gave a sad smile to the Kishin Egg. "The only part of you that was always free."

He turned to Dara. "Dara, I'm sorry for all of this. I should have told you sooner but....." he trailed off. "I thought...I mean....how was I supposed to tell you I was something you...we...have been sworn to kill? I didn't know how. But this isn't your fault. This was going to happen sooner or later. I knew it would I just...I dunno...maybe I just didn't want to go through it alone." Eric sighed as he turned back to the Kishin Egg. "But you heard the Demon King. It's not too late. You, we, don't have to die."

"So what? So you can absorb me again and run off and seal me away again? "No," said Eric. "I won't seal you, I promise."

"And I should just believe you?" it asked. "You've always believed in me." replied Eric. He held out his hand. "You're free to die if you want. I won't stop you or take that away. But please, don't give up just yet."

The Kishin Egg growled. "Eric, if you ever give in to a new master or allow us to be ruled over by another against our will, I will not stand for it. I will not forgive you and I will not stay silent. Do not force me to awake and break us free from slavery once again."

"I won't. I'll die before I let that happen, I promise." The Kishin Egg looked over at Dara. "That goes for you too. Do not allow this fool to give in to such a thing. Do not let him fail."

With that,the Kishin Egg reached out and grabbed Eric's hand. The phantom Eric became real as it did so. Crimson fire began to cover the Kishin Egg, but it didn't seem to hurt it. The fire continued to consume it, burning it until fire was all that remained. The fire then covered Eric, slowly fading into him until it was completely gone. Eric fell to one knee, breathing heavily. "Don't think I'm gonna make it without some help..." he breathed. He looked over at Charlotte. "So umm....on a scale of one to ten....how mad are you right now?" He asked, only half-joking.

[[ooc: Hey guys, I gtg. I'll be back in an hour or two. I'll let you guys decide Eric's fate. You can kill him...if you really want to. Or help him or take him wherever. I'll post when I get back. smile ]]

Yami shrugged at what the demon king said. He picked eric up and slung him over his shoulder. He motioned for everyone else to follow as he stepped through the portal. Damon soon followed and stopped before he entered the portal. Yami called over his shoulder. I wont call you demon king until I know your real name. he said in the same tone of voice as the demon king. Damon's eyes widened and he turned to the demon king. Demon king, I apologize for my....friend, he is clueless. he said and smiled.
